+ACTIVE -----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------- This command will show you a list of all IC characters who have been active within the last ten minutes. Characters who have been active (that is posed, moved, executed a commmand, etc) within the last two minutes are shown with their status field highlighted. To use this command just type +active. Usage: +ACTIVE -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+CALL -----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]-------------------------- The +CALL command is used to call out through a doorway. This can be very neatly used in conjunction with +KNOCK to simulate knocking on a door, being asked, "Who is it?" and then answering "It's me." The +CALL command is used by naming the exit (normally using the exit's abbreviation between the angle brackets <>) and then adding whatever text you wish to call out. Everyone in both the room you are in, and the room to which the exit leads, will hear you call out and will know which door you are calling through. The syntax is +CALL <exit>=<message> where <exit> is the direction of the exit and <message> is what you want to say. Example: +call o=Who's there? Usage: +CALL <exit> = <message> -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+COMMANDS -----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------- The +COMMANDS command allows you to see a list of all $-commands contained on the object <dbref>. It shows you a list of the attribute names, as well as the command syntax required to use the $-commands. For example if you own an object dbref #40450, +commands #40450 will get all $commands listed on that object. You have to own the object or have permission to examine it to be able to use this command on it. Usage: +COMMANDS <dbref> -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+DSAY ------------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------ This command allows you to make a 'directed' statement (i.e. directed 'say) pose or semi-pose to a character (or even an object) in your current room. There are three ways to use the command. +dsay <name> = <text> causes you to say "text" to <name> in the form [To <name>] <Your Name> says, "<text>". Poses can also be used, in the form +dsay <name> = :<text>, which will show [To <name>] <Your Name> <text>. You can also use a semi-pose, which is the same as a pose but places no space between your name and <text> (this is useful for doing possessives). This is done with +dsay <name>=;<text>. This command is particularly useful if you are in a room with lots of people and want to have them all hear what you say, but you want to say it specifically TO one person. Usage 1: +DSAY <name> = <text> says <text> to <name> Usage 2: +DSAY <name> = :<text> poses <text> to <name> Usage 3: +DSAY <name> = ;<text> semi-poses <text> to <name> -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+FINGER ------------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------ The +finger command allows you to view general information about a specific character. Approved Alternate CM characters are automatically shown. If the fingered character is a puppet the owner of the puppet will be displayed. Some of the finger-stats for your own characters are set for you by the game. Others you must set for yourself. Certain fields are required and you MUST fill these in or your character will not be approved. If a field is not applicable for your character put 'none'. DO NOT leave it blank. There are commands in the Finishing Room of the character generation area to set these fields. You can also set the required attributes directly if you are confident regarding setting attribute values in that way. Puppet character finger-stats have to be set by adding attributes to the puppet in this manner; but if you're using puppets you will be familiar with creating objects and setting attributes on them. continued in +FINGER 2 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+FINGER 2 ------------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------ Required fields for +finger command: your PC's gender @sex me = <Male, Female, Neuter, None> your PC's normal name &secret_id me = <normal name> (ie: secret identity) your PC's hero name &code_name me = <hero identity name> your PC's normal job &ic_job me = <character's occupation> your PC's alignment &alignment me = <Hero, Mercenary, Neutral, etc> your PC's species &species me = <Human, Alien, Kryptonian, etc> your PC's age &age me = <age in years> You may add optional fields, such as your email address, WWW page, elseMush identities, character's trademark quote, etc. These optional fields will be displayed beneath the standard +finger information. A command is provided in the Finishing Room for this. You can set these optional fields directly should you wish by adding character attributes formatted as shown: &finger_<field_name> me = <Title>|<Content of optional field> Usage: +FINGER <player> -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+GLANCE ------------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------ This command allows you to 'glance' at all of the characters in the room you are currently standing in. It shows you whatever they have set up as their 'short description'. All players should have an accurate short description set up. You can set this on yourself by typing: &short_desc me = <brief description of yourself> +glance only shows you the first 56 characters of the short_desc. Anything longer than that will be truncated. An example of a good short description: &short_desc me = A petite woman with blond hair and blue eyes. Of course, you would describe your own character with this attribute. The +glance command has been improved and updated. It now shows puppets as well as players in the room. So if you want your puppets to look good in +glance remember to give them short descriptions and assign a sex: &short_desc and &sex attributes respectively. Usage: +GLANCE -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+IC ----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]-------------------------- This command, which may only be used by characters who have been approved by the admins, will allow your character to move into the IC world from the OOC world. That is, it sets you In-Character (IC) and sends you off into the role-play area. Please remember, that while you are IC, everything you say and pose should be in-character, unless you use the OOC command to inject OOC comments into the conversation (which should be done sparingly). The +IC command will either transport you to main street (the first time you use it) or it will transport you to wherever you were last in-character. Usage: +IC -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+INSPECT -------------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]----------------------- The +INSPECT command is useful in conjunction with extra room or object attributes to avoid rooms becoming overly cluttered. For example, suppose you want to place a few pictures on the wall of a room. You don't want to waste database (DB) space or your quota by @creating objects whose only function is to provide a brief description to the viewer. Thus, you can create an attribute called Inspect_<item> where <item> is the name of the object you wish to have in the room. This can be viewed using the command +INSPECT <item>. Used without any arguments, the command +INSPECT lists all inspectable items in the room. Usage 1: +INSPECT Usage 2: +INSPECT <item> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- <pre> <pre> +KNOCK -----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------- The +KNOCK command is used to knock on a doorway. When you rap on a door, anyone in the room to which the door leads will hear a rapping sound on the door. They can decide whether to let you in or not. The syntax of the command is simple. To knock on an exit you simply type +KNOCK <exitname>, where <exitname> is the letter(s) between the angle brackets <> following the exit name. For example, to knock on A Wooden Door <E>, you would type +KNOCK E. To talk through a doorway, use the +CALL command. Usage: +KNOCK <exitname> -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+LIKA -----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------- On 13 August 2000, a CM Code-staffer named Alikai (aka. Lika) passed away. She had a fun and unique speech pattern, and certain little patented poses, things like "Alikai rolls her eyes and gets a 3" or "Alikai waverizes" or (everyone's favorite, probably), "Alikai eyes Steven Alpha-Keri-ly" (or something-else-ily). Well, several years ago now, some friends goaded Lika into writing a global command where people could type +lika and it would make Alikai-patented nonsense pose. Lika was tickled by the idea, and after we prodded her a little, she finally did it. The code's been at MMX ever since. Rincewind, the head honcho at MMX, has kindly provided us with the code for +LIKA. It will remain here for as long as the MUSH is around, as a tribute to, and a way of remembering, our friend Alikai. To use it, simply type +LIKA <target>, where <target> is another player in the room with you, and you'll emit an Alikai pose. I like to think Alikai would be pleased. Usage: +LIKA <target> -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+LIST
-----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]-------------------------
Rather than have lots of different commands for listing things, we have a
unified filing cabinet with lots of drawers. That's the best way to think
of the way +LIST works. Each category in +list is like a drawer in a filing
cabinet. Each topic is a specific file in a drawer.
Adding categories and topics to +LIST is done by staff. In here are the SFX,
LIMS, ORGS, NPCS, new House Rules, and whatever else deemed useful. We'll
add new categories as required so if there's something you think could be a
useful addition just let a staff member know.
Usage: +LIST - shows a listing of available catgeories.
+LIST <category> - lists all the topics in a category
+LIST <catgeory>/<topic> - display a topic in the category
+LIST/SEARCH <keyword> - list topics containing the keyword
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+OOC -----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------- This command allows you to set yourself out-of-character (OOC); that is, it allows you to move out of the role-play area, so you can do things that are not strictly RP (for example, perhaps you want to re-write your @desc. You would want to be OOC while you're doing that, since you can't role-play while you're writing a description). The +OOC command automatically sends you into the OOC area of the MUSH -- specifically, to Cafe Espresso. In general, if you're not role-playing, you should type +OOC and spend your time in the OOC portion of the MUSH. When you type this command, your current IC location will be saved, and you will be returned to it by typing the +IC command the next time. Usage: +OOC -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+STAFF ------------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------ This command allows you to look at the duties of the Mush staff. There are several categories of jobs that admins have to deal with. The NEWS ADMINS file lists the categories and explains in detail what each category covers. To help us to help you, please try to direct your questions and queries to staff in the relevant area of expertise. Short description of staff categories: APPS - character approval (new and powerup) and theme maintenance BUILD - construction and maintenance of the IC and OOC playing grid CODE - softcoding intrastructure and coding player commands GM - running plots and scenes The +STAFF command shows you a list of staff with their assigned duties and whether they are online and available or not. Usage: +STAFF -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+TEAM ------------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------ The +TEAM command has two forms: +TEAMS, which takes no arguments, shows you a list of all the hero Teams on the MUSH. These Teams are the official teams of the MUSH (unofficial ones forged through RP are encouraged but not be listed here). Each Team has an abbreviation, through which you can access specific information about the team, and a full name. Potentially a GameMaster and meeting time may also be designated. Offical teams can have a base and a team channel. That's the only OOC benefit. An unoffical team may apply to become officially recognized after showing it can maintain a stable membership roster. If you want more details about a team, you can find out who is on its roster, and a little bit about the team, by typing +TEAM <abbr>, where <abbr> is the abbreviation for the team listed at the left of the team's name in +TEAMS. For instance, for the team 'Spirit of Justice' you would type +TEAM SOJ. To add a comment to your listing on a team's roster you can use the command: &team_comment_<abbr> me=<comment> Usage 1: +TEAMS Shows a list of all teams on CM Usage 2: +TEAM <abbr> Shows detailed information on the team <abbr> -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+THINK -----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2/0: +HELP ]------------------------- The +THINK command poses your words in a 'thought balloon' to the room you are in. The syntax is +THINK <thought>, where <thought> is whatever text you want in the thought balloon. for example: you might type +think That was silly! in which case everyone in the room would see: <Your name> thinks . o O(That was silly!) Please remember that unless a character is using the Telepathy power, she has no way of knowing what is in another character's thoughts. This is just to add flavor to the RP and should not be acted upon unless Telepathy is occurring. Usage: +THINK <thought> -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+TIME -----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------- This command does two things: first, it shows you (using a military-style 24-hour clock) the current date and time of the IC area of the MUSH. If you want to know what time it is for your character, the top line of this command will show that to you. The second thing +time shows you is a list of times in various time zones. The various US zones are shown (including Hawaii), as well as London, Tokyo, and Sydney time. Usage: +TIME -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+WHERE ------------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------ The +WHERE command gives you a list of the name, location, and status of every player connected. This command tells you the specific name of the player's current location. It's useful for getting a good idea of where several people are (specifically) at once. Like +WHO, +FINGER, and +WHERE, it supports the UNFINDABLE flag (if you have permission to set it) so if you @set yourself = unfindable your current location will NOT appear on the +WHERE list. As a side note, +WHERE does not count how many players are connected. Only +WHO does that. Usage: +WHERE -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+WHEREIS
-----------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]-------------------------
The +WHEREIS command can be used to find which room a connected character is
currently located in. This works for both player and puppet characters. Only
puppets owned by connected players and in an IC room are shown. This command
shows the location of all targeted players whether connected or IC or not.
The major advantages of +whereis over +where when determining the location
of a character are first the characters shown are selected by name, and
secondly if the room has an address attribute that is shown. An address can
make moving to a room much easier when the room isn't shown on any of the
district maps.
You can still use +where when you want to see which characters are in which
rooms for the entire connected playerbase.
You must enter at least one letter as a character selection target. The more
of the required name you enter the fewer other matches will also be shown. A
name with spaces in it, for example Green Blade, will match on both parts of
the character name.
example: +whereis bl - this will match both Bloodfire and Green Blade
and probably several other characters as well.
Usage: +WHEREIS <partial_name>
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+XP ------------------------[ Champions MUSH 2.0: +HELP ]------------------------ This simple command shows you how many UNSPENT XP you have at the moment. Experience may be spent to improve Powers, buy down Disadvantages, etc. To see how many XP you've already spent type +POINTS. Usage: +XP -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
