Description
As Armament: Big. That's the way to describe this huge suit of power armor, approximately 8 feet tall. The suit is metallic looking...and mostly white and silver. The helmet is white, aside from the darkened visor. The armored torso is white with the abdomen a red color, with a large letter 'A' where a belt buckle would go. The arms and legs are silvery-metal, and the gauntlets and boots are red.
Under his right arm is a rather large weapon of some variety, with a rotating set of cylinders, and tube to the armor's large white backpack. Next to the energy pack on his back is what appears to be a rocket launcher.
As Dr. Derrick Jacobs: A fairly well built man...especially when you consider he's a scientist. He seems to have a scowl fairly often. He has brown hair which is well kept, dress slacks, and a white shirt with a solid red tie. His shoes are black leather.
Origin
Complete details are unknown at the current time. What is known is that both Dr. Jacobs and Dr. Roland Hammer both worked side by side in the ACRO organization. Dr. Jacobs was the cybernetics expert, and Dr. Hammer was the plasma technology expert. The Armament suit was a joint creation by the two men, and Dr. Hammer deemed it to be 'too deadly'. At this point, details become murky. There was a falling out between the two scientists, and both men left the organization. Dr. Hammer, using a refined version of the suit, became known as 'Technohammer'. Dr. Jacobs used the original prototype to become 'Armament'.
As a result, both men were hunted by the organization.
Powers
Without his armor, Dr. Jacobs has no powers. With the suit, he's relatively strong, able to lift about a ton. In addition, the suit is filled with several weapons, like a plasma gatling cannon, and an anti-tank rocket. The suit is sealable, and protected against blinding flashes.
Personality
Seems to vary from day to day. He wavers from megalomania to complacency. Left to his own devices, he will try to push the boundaries of known science, and tends to get burned as a result.
Relations
Neutral to most heroes and villains at this point. He has an enmity with Dr. Hammer, as well as with ACRO.
History
First encountered when trying to rob an armored car, Armament was talked down from his destructive ways by Random Factor. Random offered Dr. Jacobs a job with Starguard as a scientist, as a way to get the man off the streets, and as a way to learn more about ACRO.
This was successful to a certain degree. In later years, his career at Starguard was marked by two major events. First, he attempted to move his consciousness into a mechanical object. Namely, the Armament suit. This was successful, but brought the ire of Deus Ex Machina, who was able to perform the same trick, only better. Heroes were able to save Dr. Jacobs, but only after some negotiations. Second, when asked to create a device to track ACRO's floating island, it was revealed that there was an ACRO control chip in Dr. Jacobs' brain. It has since been removed, but his motivations from that point on have been suspect.
Starguard has since closed up shop in Colonial Bay, putting Dr. Jacobs out of his job.
