It's a typical day on York Boulevard. The busy downtown area bustles with activity...

Yutaka arrives from Main Street on a call from RF.

Jennifer is waiting for Jessica to pick her up after spending time catching up on SGG paperwork in Stargaurd.

Ashton steps out of Starguard stretching.

Jessica enters from Main street riding her hoverbike on the way to pick up Jenn.

Granite walking around with his sister,Jenna, after a day of shopping and him being the bigger of the two and hard to miss in his Starguard uniform now moving towards the housing district.

Kra-KOW! A clap of thunder erupts from the center of the busy intersection in front of the Starguard building. Where there was once empty space now stands a tall figure, clad in a robes. Car tires screech as traffic comes to a stand-still.

Yutaka jumps back into a ready position out of sheer instinct..."What the.."

Jennifer turns to look at the sudden arrival. "That's something you don't see every day. Nope, once or twice a week at most. She sees Granite and Ashton in the close area with relaxed amusement. "The hero effect strikes again." She says to herself.

An irate driver leans his head out of a window. "Hey lady! Get out of the way!" He honks his horn impatiently.

Granite hands Jenna her bags "Jenna get inside...this might turn ugly." after seeing the lady appear out of no where and under strange circumstances.

Yutaka walks away from the lady into a side street, *POP*ing back in his work clothes..

Kibin drops the shapeshifting, and walks along the sidewalk towards the portion of the street where the lady is, to see what's going on.

The strange woman gives the driver a disparaging glance and then begins to survey the surrounding area. In a resounding voice, she announces, ""Attention Solons. Deliver to me, or your planet will face dire consequences!""

Jessica and Jenn scan the surrounding area, including rooftops. o O(Great distraction, with everyone's attention focused on the teleporter. Do no harm to look around)

Granite makes sure Jenna is safe somewhere in a shop turning his attention to the lady then waving a hand to the cabbie as in saying calm down. "Who are you?" he asks the robed woman.

Yutaka walks near to Jen and Jess, "Do you see anything?" he asks. Eyes on the robed woman.

The strange woman gives the driver a disparaging glance and then begins to survey the surrounding area. Her eyes finally settle on Granite. In a resounding voice, she announces, "Attention Solons. Deliver to Horatio Helmes to me, or your planet will face dire consequences!"

Shoro looks at Jess, "Horatio..isn't that your superior?"

Jennifer says, "Enough heroes on the scene to make the standard trouble magnet. But discounting the woman, nothing else at the moment."

Jessica nods, "Yes. Horatio is the head of this office of Starguard. Shame it's Horatio she wants. I could live with giving her Roger."

Shoro steps forward outside of armslength but still close, ready to back the starguardians if need be, remaining silent letting the Starguardians do what they will.

The Robed Woman raises a finger and points it towards Granite. "You. You will bring Horatio Helmes to me."

Kibin goes ahead and approaches the Woman, asking her, "Could you give us a reason, please?"

Jessica sighs, "Guess Kibin and I ought to step in and lend a hand." She steps forward to where the woman and Granite are conversing. "Hello. Horation isn't available right now. Would you like to leave a message? Or can I help instead?"

The Robed Woman raises a finger and points it towards Granite. "You. You will bring Horatio Helmes to me."

Shoro nods to Jennifer and Jessica, he is simply an outsider and will let them handle their own problem.

A bipedal velociraptor, standing at about 5 feet. He has a snout filled with pointed teeth and a powerful tail behind him. His hands have three fingers and an opposable thumb, all ending in claws. His feet likewise are much like a velociraptor's feet, with two long toes ending in claws, and one smaller toe with a long curved claw on the inside. His scales are thick, and a deep red color. His clothing right now is long pants and a shirt, black with gold stripes down the side, and several pockets to store things on the front of his pants. On his left wrist is an odd blue bracelet.

Shoro sees that the group has it in hand, and sneaks off into a side alley.

The Robed Woman tilts her head slightly as she glances downward at Jennifer. "I doubt that you are capable... Horatio Helmes is the one I want."

Granite cracks his knuckles looking at Jenn since he is the new member of Starguard on what to do.

Random Factor enters from Reception Area.

Random Factor has arrived.

Jennifer says, "Your method of arrival gives a little credibility to your request, but I need to be able to tell Horatio what you waht to see him about. Plus throwing comments like ..dire consequences.. around always puts people's backs up. So why don't we start this conversation again? You explain why you want to see him and I'll pass the request on personally."

There a bit of a commotion in front of SGHQ. The robed woman is standing in the middle of the intersection having a standoff-ish conversation with Jennifer and Granite.

Random Factor steps out of SGHQ and pauses, looking at the group askew for a moment before nodding. "Afternoon, all."

Jessica grins and smiles, "Hi boss. Perfect timing again. That woman in the robe wants Horatio. Pretty insistant about it too."

Random Factor smiles softly at the woman and nods. He simply says "I see." to Jess, then turns to speak to the woman. "Good afternoon. Are you a close personal friend of his, or do you have an appointment?"

The Robed Woman looked over at Random, taking a moment to appraise him. "Who is in charge here? Unless I am allowed to speak to Horatio Helmes, your world, as you know it, may cease to exist."

Granite steps closer to Random in case this robed woman gets any ideas today. "Sounds serious chief then again sounds like before she wanted to take Horatio in some sort of custody and I dunno what for."

Random Factor glances around. "Well, I'm in charger HERE. What has our future to do with HIM?"

Jennifer points out, "To be fair, everything she has said can be viewed as either threatening or trying to give a warning. Sure, she comes over as kind of imperious but I figure she's used to getting her way and may not know better manners."

"As we stand and talk, your world faces a threat unlike any from your meager history," the woman says. "I will speak to Helmes."

Jennifer says, "Lady, if all you want to do is talk then Horatio will do nicely. If you want some action to be taken you're already talking to the right person. Random is the head of the the enforcement arm of Starguard."

Random Factor frowns. May aliens come demanding mush the same, but few have a true major problem to face. Still, he radios Horatio to let him know what's happened.

Granite sighs then crosses his arms then says "You could ask nicely and say please ma'am. I think last thing we all need is a confrontation."

Kibin watches silently from his point near the robed woman.

Random Factor says, "Pardon me, ma'am, but are you the emissary of the Guild?"

"Please?", the Robed Woman asks of Granite, incredulous. "It is you who should thank me, for providing a slim measure of hope to your world." ...

The Robed Woman nods to Random Factor. "That is correct. I am Ultima. Star Hunter, First Class."

Random Factor says, "May I please see your seal of designation?"

Granite bows then to the lady "Well then I wish to thank you for coming to warn us then. If any help that might be of use to us if this has anything to do with the egg droids."

Random Factor nods as she makes the proper acknowledgement. "Thank you." He then speaks into his radio again.

The Robed Woman raises her hand and gestures towards Random. There's a crackling sound in the air, a small one that's similar to the woman's original entrance. Her credentials appear in the air, hovering before Random.

Random Factor smiles softly again and inclines his head to the woman in a show of respect. "He will, of course, see you immeadiately. If you will please follow us, we will take you to him." Then as an aside to the twins: "Will you girls see if there are any other SG memebers around, and invite them to join us?"

Jennifer nods to Random

Ultima returns Random's gesture with a nod of her own and follows his lead inside.

Horatio is waiting behind his desk as Random and Ultima arrive, with the rest of the team slightly behind. He rises and circles to the middle of the run. "Star Hunter Ultima," Horatio begins, lowering his head a moment in deference. "It's a privileged to meet you. I understand that your time is important, so I think it's best that we get right down to business. You've come to assist us with what seems to be an invasion attempt?"

I understand that your time is important, so I think it's best that we get right down to business. You've come to assist us with what seems to be an invasion attempt?"

Ultima says, I will make this as brief as possible. You planet has been targetted by a robot known as the Promothean."

Random Factor says, "The Promothean? As in singular?"

Ultima says, "Yes. It's program is to further the agenda of it's long dead creator..."

Random Factor says, "What can you tell us of them?"

Granite scratches his head a bit "Would these things appear golden egg shape droids?" Not understanding what is up right at the moment.

Ultima says, "It visits world after world. It's payload is a digest of galactic knowledge. It will aim to spread that knowledge to this world."

Random Factor says, "That doesn't sound like such a bad thing..."

Ultima says, "Few worlds are ready for this level of unchecked scientific advancement. Simultaneously, you would gain the ability to save countless lives and destroy countless. Most likely, your primitive society would would not survive this transformation."

Ultima says, "The egg-shaped automatons are tools by which the Promethean accomplishes its goals."

Random Factor says, "So... what do you suggest we do?"

Ultima says, "I thought that your aim would be clear. The Promethean must be stopped. Its invasion has three stages: "

Jessica says, "Boss, if the Egg machines are involved, well so far from what Kibin and Granite have said they aren't being overly nice about what they are doing. It's not like they are contributing a bunch of books to the city library. We ought to go kick their eggy butts."

Granite says, "I hate to be a smashing sam but if that knowledge gets in wrong hands like some of the super villans. Who knows what they can do with it."

Random Factor says, "Yes, but..." He stops, sighing. "All those lives that could be saved..." He stops and glares icily at the emissary. "With information I presume you could have offered us at any time...""

Ultima nods, "If you have a difference of opinion with the nature of Guild diplomatic relations your world, I am certain that Horatio Helmes knowns the proper channels. I, however have no interest in that matter."

Granite ponders for a moment on hearing Random on his thoughts. "Well is there a way we can get the info you want Random lets say maybe turn it over the guild when we get to that point? They can scan the information and give us a bit of it to say help push us along in right direction for us to figure it out?"

Jennifer says, "Star Hunter, our internal affairs are our own problem. That's reasonable enough. But even in the short time my family has been part of SGG we've faced several alien threats. So just what does the Guild do to protect worlds like this from the threats that arrive from the Guild's backyard? Either give us the tools and knowledge we need to defeat these threats or keep them off our workd in the first place."

Horatio Helmes presses a button, and the door slides open revealing Lorelei. "Good afternoon," Horatio says, "I heard that you were on your way up. Glad you could join us. This..." he pauses, gesturing to Ultima, "... is Star Hunter Ultima, here to help us with our alien problem."

Lorelei nods to Ultima. "Hello."

Ultima nods, "If you have a difference of opinion with the nature of Guild diplomatic relations your world, I am certain that Horatio Helmes knowns the proper channels. I, however have no interest in that matter."

Random Factor smirks as he nods in aquiesence and mutters something under his breath that sounds suspiciously like "self-aggrandizing, socially arrogent cowards".

Random Factor says, "So how is it this "Promothean" tries to disseminate this information, and how do we stop it?"

Ultima nods to Jennifer. "Agreed," she says, referring to Jenn's comment about internal affairs. "My role here is to provide information that you will find helpful in combatting the Promethean." She glances, "..That is, before I was interrupted."

Ultima's greeting to Lorelei is just a glance. She says, "The Promethean operates by constructing a broadcast tower to transmit the knowledge psychically, so that everyone on your world will understand."

Ultima nods, "The first stage is to establish a foothold on the world. It relies on stealth and mental domination to construct a based of operations. The next stage is expansion -- typically the Promethean does not have the necessary resources. It will send it's automatons out into the world to gather raw materials. Finally, the Promethean will activate it's tower."

Granite says, "That would explain the radio tower attack"

Random Factor says, "Is it actually a life-form, or "simply" an automaton?"

Ultima says, "The Promothean is an entirely synthetic creature. It has augmented itself over the years with the technology it has uncovered. If captured, the Promethean's status as a life form would be assess but the Guild court system."

Random Factor says, "Goody."

Random Factor says, "Does it have any particular abilities other than mental powers you know of?"

Ultima says, "The Promothean is an entirely synthetic creature. It has augmented itself over the years with the technology it has uncovered. If captured, the Promethean's status as a life form would be assess but the Guild court system."

Ultima says, "It is not known what modifications it was made since it's last brush with the law, but it's systems and scientific knowledge give it power over many aspects of the physical world."

Ultima says, "A more detailed survey of it's ability will be delivered shortly."

Granite says, "Is there anything that penetrate the war droids I mean I can't grab and crunch them before they all go after me I will be over mobbed by them."

Ultima says, "There are many things. I do not believe they can be found on this world. Judging by the general level of advancement of this world, I doubt your conventional weaponry will have much effect. However the special powers wielded by some might prove to be effective."

Jessica says, "shrugs, "Star Hunter, if a DUAP 20mm sabot round doesn't affect one of these things I'm sure not going to be able to touch it. So what kind of special powers did you have in mind?"

Ultima says, "The kind that is more potent than what is suggested by your level of advancement."

Granite says, "I wonder if there is a way to utilise that eyebeam of the one I crunched."

Jessica says, "I see the reluctance to pass on information extends even to the wording your answers. That last comment isn't at all helpful. So I'll ask again. What kind of special powers are going to be effective?"

Ultima says, "I would caution against attempting to utlitize technology beyond the edge of your comprehension. However, when faced with ones own end the desire is reasonable."

Jennifer says, "Or, of course, since you have access to all this super high tech wizardry you could go sort out the problem yourself. After all if the Guild had taken care of the robot on any of the previous occasions it wouldn't be causing this trouble now."

Ultima responds, "Teleporting the automatons into the nearest star is quite effective. I did not think that suggestion would be helpful for the task at hand..."

Random Factor scowls. "Is there at least anything that can be found here on this planet that can block the mental powers of the Promethean?"

Jennifer asks seemingly entirely seriously, "And the downside to that is? Obviously not the possibly sentient mother Egg but all the warbots and baby eggs could be toast."

Ultima says, "Perhaps psychics could be used to limit the effect, but I do not believe that psychic powers occur in a significant percentage of the population to limit the broadcast of the Promethean's tower." She turns to Jennifer and prepares to answer her.

Lorelei sits quietly: having missed the beginning she's just trying to catch up.

"The automatons are mere tools for the Promethean, without protection under laws reserved for sentient life forms."

Jennifer nods. "Yeah. So why don't you fry them by teleporting them into the sun and save our people potential death and dismemberment trying to fight the warbots with our primitive low-tech weapons that, according to you, won't touch them.

Ultima says, ""My mandate as a Star Hunter prevents me from enacting enforcement on non-member planets. At present, this planet has only completed 4 of the Guild requirements fore membership. Your world is beyond my jurisdiction.""

Random Factor says, "Well, we beat the snot otta the two we found with little more than muscle power. We should be fine."

Jessica says, "It's not our world that's the problem though is it? It's one of your Guild fugitives. So what you're saying is any criminal from the Guild can come here and the Guild won't do anything to stop them." She looks at Random, "Remind me, why do we bother with the Guild? Can't say I've seen a darn thing they have done for us since we met them."

Lorelei says, "But are more being constructed? And how fast?"

Ultima says to Lorelei, ""It is doubtful. For now, all resources will be committed towards building the tower." She turns to respond to Jessica...

Lorelei nods. "Momo said the tower is under construction."

"I am not especially fond of the policy." Ultima admits. "One should be careful in entrusting others with the care of her destiny."

Ultima says, "Then it will need to gather more materials."
