Start

Salibury Plain.

Bedivere's Folly IC Zone The Folly is a circular building some 10 metres in diameter and the same in height, styled in the Roman fashion with white domed roof and gray granite blocks. There are four entrances to the central chamber each arched and colummed.

Bullet says, "Somebody said something about contacting the authorities?"

Xing-Liu is having a lot of fun in the journey between destinations, taking in the sights and sounds while pushing the tempo of movement forward constantly.

Dorian nods, "Well, we need to contact the military, is we're going into a firing range."

Bullet says, "So what are we waiting for?"

Dorian says, "I suppose nothing. We can contact them on the way."

Bullet says, "About time. Let's go!"

Picking up Rebound on the way we head out for Salisbury Plain, contacting the army on the way.

The MoD (Ministry of Defence) is cooperative. When the heroes get through to the right office they are told that the listed building of Bedivere's Folly is near the south border of the firing range. There are live fire exercises in the north and west areas but that area is safe. The heroes are warned not to stray from the same south area.

Xing-Liu seems to be more inclined to ride atop the car rather than inside.

Bullet wishes he'd flown, too. It seemed unfriendly, but being cramped in the car adds insult to the injury of moving so slowly.

Valencia rides along in the car, not sharing Xing-Liu's affinity for rooftops.

Vice sits in the front seat calling shot gun before getting to the car. He don't speak and sits with his arms folded and looking at the road infront of him.

Rebound is squeezed into the back seat, being rather used to fitting in cramped quarters.

Bullet says, "Not so bad for you, eh Rubber-Man?"

Bullet is a rather large person.

An uneventual journey although even in fifty years there are still traffic jams on the M25 that leave the car crawling along little faster than walking speed for about an hour. Then traffic lightens up. The journey takes a little under four hours before you come to a guarded gate to the army range that is the closest to the building you are seeking. There are a couple of bored looking army MPs on duty.

Rebound smiles. "Don't get me wrong... it's cramped. I'd like to stretch my legs some when we get there."

Valencia looks out the window almost the whole way, squeezed on the opposite side of Bullet from Rebound.

Bullet says, "Hope they're expecting us."

Vice looks at the MP, "so who going to talk to them see if we can get some info?"

Xing-Liu makes a waving sort of motion to the nice MPs, smiling in a rather friendly manner from atop the car.

Valencia nods to Bullet. "Well, it is a defense department truck."

One of the Military Policemen steps out to flag the car down as it turns into the track leading up to the gate. The other military policemen gets on a radio and starts talking.

Dorian waits for the MP to approach the window, and smiles, "Greetings, sir. We're in the midst of an investigation, and called ahead to gain access to this area?"

The MP looks into the car and nods. "Do you have any ID on you, Sir?"

Dorian nods, "Of course." He pulls out his identification...his passport. "Here you are."

Xing-Liu watches with fascination, not apparently familiar with the identification process.

The MP examines the passport and hands it back. "That will be fine, Sir. Please stay on the tracks. There is likely to be unexploded ordnance off road. Do not go more than six miles north of this point for your own safety. Do you wish instructions to the building you have clearence to visit?"

Rebound makes smalltalk to pass the time. "So, Bullet... what do you do?"

Bullet says, "What do you mean? My powers?"

Valencia rolls down the window a bit and stretches her torso out until she folds her arms on the roof of the vehicle and looks up at Xing-Liu. "Everything ok up here?"

Rebound nods. "Yes, that's what I was wondering about."

Dorian says, "Sure...that would be wonderful."

Bullet says, "I fly. Real fast."

Xing-Liu nods, grinning slightly. She gently pokes Valencia's chin.

Valencia blinks as her chin is poked. "Ok...Glad to hear it."

The MP points along the track, "Keep going a couple of miles to the crossroads. Turn left and go over the crest of the rise. You'll see a large wooded area ahead of you. The building is located in the middle of the woods. There's a track right to it."

Bullet pays attention to the directions.

Dorian nods. "Thank you, sir."

Xing-Liu presents a playful smile, facing Valencia.

The MP salutes, "No problem, Sir. It's what we're here for."

Dorian smiles, and nods, "Have a good day."

Valencia hmms. "Looks like we're about to get moving...I'm gonna head back inside but you hang on, ok?"

[To Dorian] Bullet says, "Want I should go ahead and scout it out? I bet I can do it so fast no one will even see me!"

Dorian smiles. "I think that's a really bad idea. For one major reason." He nods as the car starts moving again, and looks back at Bullet. "I know you want to be proactive and all...but here's the thing: If this woman can control men's minds...and you're alone when you find her...well, I think you can do the math.

Bullet says, "I'll be a mile away before she even knows I'm there!"

Dorian raises a brow, "Alright...fine. Go on ahead. I'm not your parent. Just remember this conversation later."

Rebound says, "Whoa.. I think I missed that part of the briefing. Buddy system's probably the best way to go, then."

Xing-Liu lays out on the roof of the car, head propped up on her hands.

Bullet grins cockily. "Be right back - let me out?" he says to Rebound.

Valencia shrugs, not commenting on the strategy.

Rebound squeezes out through the window, Dukes of Hazzard style, stretching and climbing out onto the roof, next to Xing.

Bullet gets out of the car with rather more still, then disappears almost faster than the eye can see.

Delighted, Xing-Liu hugs Rebound, sitting up quickly to make such a thing involve less contortionism.

Bullet flies toward the folly as fast as is safe this close to ground level, aiming to do a quick close fly-by and get out of sight before he's noticed.

Rebound grins and climb up behind Xing-Liu. He holds onto the frame of the car doors with his hands and lets his legs dangle and stretch a little flapping in the wind.

Dorian waits relatively patiently in the car, but as he's sitting there, his body morphs in a flash of light to a female form. "This should be a little safer, I suppose."

Valencia leans forward. "I think it's gonna take a little more than that." She says to

Dorian. "Unless you're hoping to fake her out.'

Bullet rolls 3D6 with a perception of 12- getting 10 which MAKES by 2

Dora smiles, "I'm hoping to not get mind controlled. She seems to ONLY affect men."

Dora shrugs, "And if I'm not physically a man...perhaps I can't be affected."

A gentle mental knocking sensation comes from Xing-Liu to Rebound, seating herself again though this time turned backward to face him.

Rebound nods and opens his mind to Xing-Liu.

Valencia taps her temple. "But you still have man-wiring up here, right?"

Dora smiles, looking herself over, "I've never tried this before...funky." She looks up at

Valencia, "Well...yeah. So, it's a hypothesis. And one that I figured I should test. Better to go with the possibility of being safe than to not be safe at all."

Rebound frowns slightly. He says to Xing-Liu quietly, "I... I think I really screwed up... with the firecracker girl on Ming Street... I don't want to repeat that mistake again."

You paged Bullet with 'You see the Folly, a circular building. There's nobody in sight outside it. No signs of any recent disturbance close by. No cars parked beside it. I'm assuming you make the pass over high enough to not create any wind effects. If you travel at that speed lower than above tree top level the wind factor will half strip many of the trees of their leaves.'

Valencia nods. "That's true. Unless it leads you to be overconfident."

Dora says, "My normal form is really gender neutral technically. So, that may be safe too. I'm not sure. Then again, if it's based off of being attracted to women...I'll be affected no matter what form I'm in."

Valencia nods. "That tends to be how these seductresses work, right? But I don't know."

Dora is wearing basically similar clothing as before, just tailored slightly differently now, as it morphed with her body.

Dora nods. "It's a matter of how her power works, I suppose. No way to know until the rubber hits the road."

Valencia grins a little bit. "Don't say that, makes me nervous."

Bullet reappears in a rush of wind. "No one outside it. No vehicles there, or sign of recent disturbance. I didn't get close enough to peak inside - whoa, who's this?"

Dora smiles. "Let's see if he can figure it out."

Valencia sits back in her seat to let Bullet look.

Bullet looks round, counts, frowns, realises. "That's just wrong."

Xing-Liu nods slightly, hugging Rebound again.

Dora laughs. "I'm curious what my fiancee's going to think about this."

Rebound nods. "Thanks, Xing-Liu." He sighs. "Let's hope for some luck, ok?" He cranes his neck until his head is next to Dora's. "Heya. Whoa..."

Valencia ums. "Don't tell her. Let's just go."

Rebound continues, "So what do we know about this woman... is she a bad guy or just misunderstood?"

Bullet says, "Seems to think she's the Lady of the Lake, or something. I don't know."

Dora nods. "No idea yet. We'll see when we speak to her, I guess."

Bullet says, "THen there's the other three. Either or both could be the bad guys."

Valencia nods. "Either way we need to investigate, not necessarily guns blazing, though."

Dora nods, "Presumably. Perhaps neither is a 'bad guy'. But the three are definitely following her."

Rebound hmms. "Any leads on the others?" He looks over at Dora and wonders aloud. "Should I take the same precautions?"

Bullet says, "So do we go in now or do I do a closer pass? I'd be kinda obvious doing that."

Dora looks to Rebound. "If you can, I'd suggest it."

Dora says, "I think we head in now, and look around. She may have been here and gone already. She DOES have a two day headstart."

Valencia nods. "So, let's roll."

Bullet says, "You know, ordinarily I'd say more girls was a good thing, but this is too weird."

Rebound stops windsurfing on the roof of the car and twists into a more feminine shape.

The car follows the track to the cross-roads and then over a crestline and down the track to the woods.

Valencia pats Bullet on the shoulder. "Don't worry. No cooties here."

Bullet laughs.

Passing through the woods the car comes to the inner clearing where the building is located.

Bullet flies along behind the car this time rather than being cramped up inside - means better reaction time if need be too.

Nobody is in sight on the outside of the building.

Valencia steps out of the car, looking around for a moment before closing the door.

Bullet figures the heck with it. He has backup now. "I'm going in."

Dora waits until the car stops, and gets out to look around, giving the area a quick scan to look for anomalies.

Dora's eyes turn solid white as she does.

Bullet zooms rapidly in one doorway and out another to scan the inside.

Rebound hops from the top of the car. "Not too pateint," he says, waiting for Dora to finish the scan.

Xing-Liu moves off, becoming very hard to track or see by normal means.

Dora nods to herself. "Nothing out of the ordinary...let's check it out."

Dora walks to one of the entrances, and takes a look inside.

Valencia follows right behind Dora, doing her own scan.

Bullet stops instantaneously just outside. "There's a kind of lake all over the floor in there!"

The interior of the building seems to be a small lake that covers most of the floor space.

There is nobody in sight inside the building.

Rebound follows behind the Val and Dora, looking around.

Dora shakes her head. "Water could be a gateway to other worlds, in stories."

Dora says, "I wonder if this is one of those situations."

Valencia nods. "Especially if we're talking Arthurian legend here."

Rebound says, "Hmm. I wish I'd brought my sensing gear with me.""

Bullet says, "Or she could just be just some meta who thought the name sounded cool."

Dora steps inside, and into the water, getting her boots wet. "Perhaps we should see how deep it is?"

Dora furrows her brow, and steps further into the room, "Weird."

Bullet hovers back into the room, above the water. "What's weird?"

Bullet says, "Looks like it's just flooded - huh. Wonder what's underneath it."

Dora doesn't respond right away to Bullet's question, as she continues walking toward the center of the room. "I...appear to be walking on the water."

Bullet says, "Huh?"

Valencia blinks at Dora, remaining at the edge of the pool. "An illusion?"

Bullet flies down and tries to fly into the water.

Rebound walks up to the edge of the pool. "Hmm." He nods to Dora's comment. "The room definitely wasn't designed to have a pool here."

Dora smiles. "Assuming you all see what I'm seeing, and I'm not struck by an illusion." She starts to call out to Bullet to stop...but is WAY too slow.

Bullet flies down into the centre of the lake and is gone without so much as a ripple.

Vice has stay back letting the other check it out.

Valencia blinks. "Ok..."

Dora furrows her brow as she gets towards the middle, and then sees Bullet disappear, "It's softer over this way...I'm guessing the middle is a portal to someplace, and this is spillover."

Valencia nods. "I'd rather not rush in, though it might be difficult to come back if we go fully through, depending on if Bullet returns or not."

    • paged Bullet with 'You're on a stone floor. There's a vaulted wooden beamed roof over you leading down to the level you are on at one side. On the other side there's a drop. To the front and rear the stone floor continuies for about 2o metres each way. Sharing the floor with you are chucks of building stone, old wooden chuch seats, storages cases.'

Dora nods..."I don't think we have much choice now, now that he's down there. I think we have to go after him. I still think he's a bit too impatient. He's lucky he didn't hit the edge. I thought he was going to knock himself unconscious."

Valencia gingerly steps onto the pool, moving towards the center.

Dora jumps into the center, feet first.

Dora vanishes from the Folly.

    • paged Dora with 'You're on a stone floor. There's a vaulted wooden beamed roof over you leading down to the level you are on at one side. On the other side there's a drop. To the front and rear the stone floor continuies for about 2o metres each way. Sharing the floor with you are chucks of building stone, old wooden chuch seats, storages cases. Bullet is there.'

Valencia sighs. "Well, here we go..." She follows after.

Rebound pulls out a PDA and sends out a 'In Case you Don't Hear From Me, This is What Happened' message from a saved template. He hops into the water.

Rebound also vanishes.
