Captain Star was a metahuman active during World War II.

He is generally regarded as the first public metahuman, though many historians challenge that status. Regardless, he and his metahuman allies played a very public role in winning WWII and earned enormous popularity among the Allies. His televised speech in 1942 is often quoted: "Do not be afraid of us, or of what we can do. We are not perfect by any means. We are human, just like anyone else. And like anyone else, we can make mistakes. Some of us will not always choose the best path; that you've already seen. But I can promise you that I and all of those who share my vision will always put our abilities to use on behalf of all of mankind. We are here. We are here to stay."

After the war, he retained some popularity as a domestic "superhero" and a government agent abroad, then became famous again when he was instrumental in defeating VIPER's 1960 attempt at world domination.

Subsequently he dropped out of the public eye. His current whereabouts are technically speaking unknown, though he is generally presumed dead.
