Colonial Bay Civic Center
From Champions MUSH
This large, plexi-glass-shrouded pyramid is one of the city's single most important cultural and social centres. Its innovative design incorporates a spacious, modern foyer featuring a reception area, ticketing booth, small displays of locally produced art, and information on coming attractions. From the foyer the centre's patrons may conveniently access either the theatre, arena, or exhibition hall. Each of these cavernous facilities is completely self-contained and sound-proofed so that events held in one do not impinge at all on its neighbours either side.
The centre's three venues play host to, amongst other things: opera, theatre, ballet, music recitals, basketball, ice hockey, motor-cross, wrestling, motor-shows, balls, receptions, conventions, and displays of art, artifacts and collectibles. Private rental of the facilities is certainly possible (though prohibitively expensive) but the Centre's administration are very sympathetic to community groups, charities, and non-profit organisations who may want to hold an event here, and may offer to host events sponsored by these institutions at reduced or negligible cost.
