Jack gained his powers through death.

Jack doesn't seem to have any powers except small enhancements here and there such as vision, speed, stamina, and the ability to generate a new power everytime he dies.

Personality
Jack is a hard nosed, macho, rude, and obnoxious character. However, he is very honorable and will do the right thing. Kind of like Rorschach from the watchmen.
