Flambeau is the best-known member of les Champions du Québec, and perhaps the superhero who attracts most attention from the Canadian media: his prettyboy good looks make him very photogenic while his fiery temper often leads to a good story. His alter ego Guy Leblanc, by contrast, is a shy and unremarkable student.

Description

As Flambeau: Even when he is not covered in flames, Flambeau's costume is a bright, even garish orange and yellow skintight costume; somehow he can carry off the look. He wears no mask, and his hair is in short wavy spikes suggesting flame. His high-cheekboned face, while perhaps a bit effeminate, is certainly no less handsome for it.

As Guy Leblanc: Guy's just this guy, you know? Sure, maybe is he did something with the unkempt dirty blond hair and lost the glasses, and took some care of how he dressed, he'd look ok. But as it is, you wouldn't give him a second look in the street.

Origin

Flambeau has been an active superhero in Canada since 2045, but nothing is known of how he came by his powers.

Powers

Flambeau can sheathe himself in flames, fly leaving a fiery trail, and shoot bolts of fire. He is not noted for any particular finesse in the use of his powers.

Personality

Flambeau always seems to be in the limelight, and lowes it there. The limelight seems to love him too (his looks don't hurt there), or his impulsiveness and short temper might have made him rather less popular. Certainly he lives the fast life more than some think proper for a superhero. In a fight he tends to strike quickly and aggressively.

As Guy, however, he remains the shy and unremarkable lad he was as a child - if anything he is more withdrawn, fearful that if people find out that Flambeau is really him his popularity will suffer.

He'd probably simply give up being the loser Guy, drifting between low-paying jobs (because he's too interested in being Flambeau to pay attention to a career), but for two things: he knows his friends and family would miss him, and somewhere deep down he believes Guy is the real him and Flambeau is all an act.

Relations

Flambeau's temper sometimes leads to some personal clashes with his teammates, but he has a good working relationship with them. Rocher remains his best friend, despite his increasing detachment from humanity. Sylph was his first girlfriend, but since her return as Mist she has been very different, and they are rather awkward around each other. That he and Lady Luck were an item around 2053-4 was all over the media, as was the breakup (though it doesn't seem to have been quite the tempestuous parting that the journalists would have one imagine). La Sorcière Blanche and Génie merely tolerate him.

He's something of a darling to the media, and it's unsurprising that he's been romantically linked - and sometimes truly - with various starlets.

Guy has few friends, but close.

History

As a founding member of both les Éléments and les Champions du Québec, Flambeau has had a long and varied crime-fighting career in Canada.
