Description

As Tammy: You see a young girl, probably in her mid teens and in highschool. Standing at a short 4'10" this girl tends to be fairly unimposing. Her hair ofcourse is bright yellow not in the typical blonde shade but more towards yellow-orangeish that looks quite out of place on a human. The hair is kept short and seems to be afflicted by static and standing on end almost constantly, occasionally electrical energy courses up from the roots of her hair to the tips like a jacob's ladder experiment gone science experiment gone awry. Her eyes are bright glowing yellow, if looked at closely one can occasionally see electrical arcs passing over the eye. Her face is fairly average with no real distinguishing characteristics, while not ugly she certianly wouldnt win any beauty contests. Her skin where you can see it is a bit pale in coloration with a slightly yellowish-tan tint to it, occasionally electricity arcs across her skin. Her body is fairly slim and she looks a bit younger than she actually is given that she is what you would call a late bloomer.

Her wardrobe consists of a set of sunglasses on her head, usually up on her forehead just incase they are needed. On her hands she wears a pair of rubber gloves that go nearly up to her elbow. She wears a plain white T-shirt and a pair of faded blue jeans and a black leather, thick rubber soled boots and elbow length rubber gloves.

Her eyes are bright glowing yellow, if looked at closely one can occasionally see electrical arcs passing over the eye. Her face is covered by a shiny golden colored mask with holes for the eyes and mouth, the mask gives away no distinguisting features and is set to appear as a 'neutral' expression despite her current mood. Almost constantly electricity is arcing around her form. Her body is fairly slim and she looks a bit younger than she actually is given that she is what you would call a late bloomer.

She is currently wearing a bright yellow costume with signifigant red accents and a few blue touches on it. The costume is best described as a jumpsuit with some protection built in.

Origins

Jolt's powers could be traced back to her DNA. She has an unusual adaptation gene in her DNA that results in the first traumatic experience to trigger a sort of immune system on steroids reaction. In Jolt's case this was when her mother was pregnant and using an appliance with faulty wiring and took a 220 volt electrical shock. Ordinarily this would be enough to put a human in the hospital with grevious wounds. However, Jolt's genetics kicked in and granted her a sort of immunity to electricity and drew all the electrical energy away from her mother and thus protecting her.

Of particular interest is the fact that had the trauma not happened or if she was exposed to different trauma after birth that her powers would have been radically different. If she had have been burned as a kid she might have manifested fire powers or if she fell off a cliff she might have manifested some serious regenerative capabilities.

Powers

Jolt's powers are derived from her control over electrical forces. She was always capble of storing and releasing a charge and then when she hit puberty her powers suddenly skyrocketed almost exponentially it is also when she was 'cursed' with the power she is best known for, the one that results in anyone touching her physically to take a lethal and uncontrolled dose of electricity to their system.

Jolt has also been observed in flight. It is presumed that she is using some sort of magnetic trick to achieve these effects. She has been spotted flying several thousand kilometers up in the air and theoretical models speculate that she is capable of flying anywhere within the earth's magnetosphere. However, without a viable space suit or other type of protection heights of higher than 10,000 will tend to be rare.

Among her known powers is the ability to blast people with less lethal doses of electricity from a distance. Also a related power that she's been ridiculed on occasion for using the ability to unleash a powerful EMP wave that has a devistating effect on electronic equipment in the area. She has also been reported to use magnetic force on occasion. Known to occasionally rip metallic things apart with incredible magnetic forces.

Personality

Jolt's personality started out as distrusting and suspicious of authority figures and the media. Over time though she's partially gotten over this and is generally a bit more cooperative with the police. She still tends to be a bit shy of the media because of their tendency to grill heroes when they screw up and she's done her fair share of screwing up in the past and likely will in the future. She tends to be quite open with her friends but has a rather severe aversion to being touched, even when she knows precautions are being taken. She also has a mild phobia of water and will not get into any body of water larger than a tub of water because she is incapable of swimming.

Lately Jolt has been spending more time in her heroic persona as she gains more confidence as well as a desire to distance herself from her past. Despite the distancing she's been doing she still considers many of the Spitfire gang members friends and family and would not rat them out and may even help them out on occasion.

Skills

Jolt's skills come primarily from her time as a runaway in the Spitfire Gang. Her skills were tuned to more streetwise set that made her better at stealing cars than most others as the gang's primary mode of income was stealing vehicles and selling them to chop shops. She's gotten a good deal of experience driving like a maniac and avoiding police and rival gangs during that part of her life. Since then she's re-enrolled in school and completed her highschool diploma.

Disadvantages

A good number of the disadvantages that Jolt has are a direct result of her powers. In order to maintain her 'biological battery' for her abilities she must obtain external charges of electricity on a daily basis or she suffers great pains as her powers literally begin to eat away at her body. Even with an enhanced metabolism burning as much food as possible to create electrical energy it still does not provide enough power to sustain her body or powers. Her powers also leave her particularly weak to attacks of Earth and Water special effects and as a result she has never learned how to swim.

It is well known that Jolt used to be in a gang but has cleaned up her ways. Still she has built up a reputation of being dangerous to touch. As a result of her powers causing extreme levels of electrical energy when touched she also has a strong aversion to being touched.

Jolt is freqently seen as one of the more powerful metahumans in Colonial Bay, rightly or wrongly. Certianly she has a great deal of potential but not much control over certian aspects of her powers. That said she has come under the scrutiny of Next Generation and has had atleast one run in with them in the past. They seek to capture her and perform all sorts of twisted experiments on her to find out the secrets her genes have.
