Description
It's a face you've seen before, looking out of the cover of magazines, looking out of advertisements, looking down from billboards. It's a beautiful face, oval, with high cheekbones and piercing blue eyes, surrounded by short, blonde hair artfully streaked with blue.
She's wearing a model's version of professional atire, a navy-blue, double-breasted suit jacket with aparently nothing under it, and a matching navy-blue skirt, short enough to have been sold as a belt. Her long, curvacious legs are covered with stockings which seem to have glitter in the weave, as they sparkle in the light. Likewise, her flat shoes are decorated with rhinestones... those /are/ rhinestones, aren't they?
Origin
No one really knows where the girl who became Lightning came from. Fans claim that the very first picture of Lightning was published in the August, 2049 issue of Starship Modeler, holding a styrene model of StarDancer's Saucer. Since the photo shows only her hands, and a little bit of her chest, this is hard to verify. What is certain is that by the end of the year, she had appeared in Victoria's Secret, in Vogue, in Cosmopolitan, in all the fashion magazines.
Then, just as suddenly as she had appeared, as suddenly as she had become the "It" girl, she was gone, disappeared from the public eye. Rumors circulated that she had died, or gotten married, or was pregnant. One story held that she'd been hit by a truck while driving her car too fast on a California mountain road. Whatever the truth, when she was next seen, she was living in Colonial Bay, Virginia, and had somehow acquired electrical powers to match her name.
Today, she resides at the famed Manor of Gallaries in Colonial Bay, along with the orphans and nuns of Saint Joan's Orphan Asylum. She divides her time between fashion and action, though she admits that she's among the least powerful of Colonial Bay's defenders.
Powers
Lightning is an electrical dynamo, having the ability to channel surprising amounts of electromagnetic energy through her body. She has been observed to fly, to generate some sort of force-field, and to throw electrical arcs outside her body.
Relations
Lightning is constantly in the press, and is most often followed by paparazi. She has been photographed with virtually every hero in Colonial Bay, and gossip columns have romantically linked her with Random Factor, Silver Spider and others. She is a sponsor of Saint Joan's Orphan Asylum, and shares her spacious home with the orphanage.
