This is lush green park surrounds an inlet of water which appears to be a lake, but is in fact and arm of a creek open onto the bay itself. Water-lilies float on its surface, while flowering bushes and shrubs dot its edge; numerous benches allow one to sit and enjoy the view. Large trees of various species surround the "lake" providing shade for the recreational area. Fields of flowers are seen in the clearings between some of the trees, providing a vast array of color everywhere on all directions. The recreational area has a baseball diamond, a soccer field, a children's jungle gym swing set, and several covered picnic areas.

To the west the trees are more numerous, forming pleasant wood. In the north the land climbs in terraces up to Colonial Heights, where the old mansion of the Buckinghams still stands, a separate property now, since the family lost their fortune and were forced to sell both house and garden. The southern terminus of the Main Street MagLev line emerges from underground near the house; it is designed to blend with the landscaping of the park.

The sky is overcast...the clouds dark. The air has that palpable feeling of coming rain. Of a storm about to begin. Lightning is visible in the distance, and only now are picnickers starting to pack up their things. The rain hasn't hit. Yet. But it's clear it's on its way from the west, heading out to sea.

Rain, huh? Feng was up on a rooftop, frowning as he watched the coming storm. How'd he get there? Obviously a fire escape. Maybe. You never know with some people. He leans on the edge of the rooftop as he watches the storm and looks towards the park. "Hmm... some storm... I should head back to Chinatown soon."

Jackie is over by the picnic tables with a woman and young girl of about twelve. She's helping to pack away a picnic lunch before the rain hits, smiling and laughing as she talks the the two people with her.

Lyssa is being a duck swimming round on the pond. Nice weather for it. And it's practice, not just a way of getting free bread. Honest! Anyway, the bread-throwers are beginning to leave.

Amidst the lightning strikes, there's something else in the sky. A streak at first. As it gets closer, it appears to be heading in the general direction of the park and this side of the city. A line of fire in the sky, like something falling through the atmosphere.

Lyssa watches the course, curious - and preparing to dive if it turns out to be heading this way!

Jackie makes an urgent warning to the girl and her mother, telling them to leave the picnic basket and run for shelter outside the park. Even while speaking she's shrinking out of her normal clothes and starting to fly up towards the whatever it is.

Feng frowns. "Not good..." He pulls a small black device from under his clothes on the rooftop, stepping back to get out of view from the street as he puts it on his waist. One small flash of red-gold later and Dragon Guardian takes off from the roof towards the falling object. His wings and helmet activate as the armor seals off and large gold wings spread from his back. He calls down as he flies past the park, "Clear the park! Incoming dangerous object!" For him, he's aiming to fly right at the object to attempt to slow it down. He may end up a bit burned for this, but he can at least save the people below.

The object continues to fall through the sky, still heading toward the park, plummeting at tremendous speeds. People start to notice, and point to the sky. Several of the picnickers stop and stare, of course. But most start to evacuate the park. After seeing their friends running, the majority of the rubberneckers also start to flee, leaving only a couple of people to stare fascinatedly.

The southern terminus of the Main Street MagLev line emerges from underground near the house; it is designed to blend with the landscaping of the park.

Jackie flies up in the direction of the meteor, and gets fairly close to it. It's clear it's an oblong meteor, perhaps a bit oddly shaped. Small pieces have broken off, leaving fire trails of their own. The surface of the meteor is rather organically shaped, much like an H.R. Giger painting, yet that surface is easily visible through the flames.

Lyssa shapechanges quickly to a human form, about 12' tall, knee-deep in the pond. "STAY IN THE PARK!" She shouts. "IT'S GOING TO HIT THE STREET!"

Dragon Guardian frowns as he switches powers by sliding in another card. "... let's hope I can control this better." His wings change from their normal gold to a red color as he flies at the incoming meteor to try and slow it. Get down the destruction is his priority right now. He might end up something like street pizza, but hey, he's a hero, right?

The crowd mostly continues to flee out of the park, in the opposite direction of where it's going to land, thankfully. A group of people, all teenagers, do stop to look at Lyssa, heeding her words.

Lyssa steps on to land and then, having no idea how big an impact the thing will have, changes to a highly defensive form. four-legged and heavily armoured.

The flames on the meteor don't harm Jackie as they lick over her body. She grabs it without problems.

The meteor slips from Jackie's grasp, though she was able to divert the course into a now-empty portion of the park.

Jackie screams in horror as the mental voice forces entry into her mind. Pushing the meteorite off course towards an empty part of the park in a hurried shove away from herself she flies at top speed down towards Eveline and her mother to fly them away to safety.

Lyssa gets closer (but not too close) to the anticpated new impact point - in order to use her inhuman appearance to discourage others from straying into the zone in panic.

Jackie beats the free falling meteorite down to ground level. Stopping instantly as she gets to the girl and her mother she scoops them up and flies away, staying low and quickly putting the bulk of a solid building between her and the metoerite.

Dragon Guardian manages to slow the meteor, but not enough to stop it entirely. It's going to hit the ground imminently. (i.e. 1 second. Enough time for one action) Dragon Guardian will end up being slammed into the ground, based upon where he is on the rock.

DG does manage to slow down the meteor, but it still impacts the ground with ferocious speed...driving the hero into the ground, and leaving a long impact crater in the previously unmarred grass.

The group of teenagers that Lyssa stopped from fleeing look really curious. One of the young women grins, "That was SO cool!"

They probably think it's cool until the armored form of DG comes down near Lyssa. Smoking at that. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell through a suit of armor if he's alive or what yet.

Lyssa hurries over to check on DG!

There is a fair amount of steam and flames where the meteor is. Sirens are heard in the distance. The teenagers also follow Lyssa over to where DG and the meteor are, curious about what's going on.

Lyssa advises the teens, "Keep back!" in a rather growly voice.

Lyssa keeps checking DG for signs of life.

Just about the time that Dragon Guardian is starting to stir, the meteorite making a cracking sound. Three of them in quick succession, in fact, followed by what sounds like puffs of air, like a paintball gun. The three teens, who have kept their distance as Lyssa told them to, each yelp in pain.

Dragon Guardian(#1843PeACcF?)

Clad in firey red and golden lines, this man looks to be wearing some sort of lightly armored suit as well as being mostly unarmed. In the world of heroes, though, that means almost nothing. His hair is a rich red in color when his helmet is not up and the eyes are a golden color that shine usually in the light. His face is decorated in crimson tattoos down to the black cloth that wraps around his neck as a part of the outfit. Other than that, his face remains mostly of a neutral masculine in look.

When up, the helmet covers his head completely almost as if it swallows his hair completely. An armored engraving of a dull gold half-mask depicting a dragon's head with his own eyes in place of the dragon's is typically over his face with the horns forming a slightly raised V in shape. The open jaws of the dragon leave room for the lower half of his face to breath easily. The rest of the armor is a similar red color with dull gold lines curving down his body in intricate, almost tribal designs. The boots and gauntlets to the armor are slightly tougher than the rest with a purpose meant to protect his hands from the looks. Both have designs of golden claws on them. The gauntlets actually have the design going down his hands themselves in a five fingered claw design.

The last piece of note to the individual is the belt. This odd belt is a solid black in color with the buckle having a slender, winged eastern dragon with it's wings spread on the buckle to it. The buckle is raised a bit in a sideways rectangle with a thin slot on the top of it. On his left side is a red rectangular case slightly bigger than your typical playing card in length and width, but it's depth is obviously meant for a full deck of such size possibly. The belt itself is solid black in color.

OOC NOTE: Some changes will be described in poses due to the character's multipower being used.

Dragon Guardian grunts as he finally starts to move. He hears the hisses and raises up. "N-no... the... the meteor's alive..."

The teens each seem to be gripping a part of their bodies. The one boy is grabbing his bicep. One girl is grabbing her thigh, the other, her neck. It's like they've been hit with a projectile.

Lyssa hurries over to try to help the teens!

Lyssa says, "Are you ok? What happened?"

The boy answers, "I think we got hit with some shrapnel from the rock. We'd better see the paramedics when they get here." As if in answer to that, the sounds of sirens are much closer. And prominent, as if there are multiple vehicles responding.

Lyssa says, "Stay calm and wait for the paramedics..."

Lyssa intends to follow that plan. In the meantime, she tries to talk to the neteorite in her native language. It's *possible* it's a shifter....

The meteorite doesn't respond. In fact...it seems to just sit there. As the smoke dissipates, and the flames go out. The paramedics, fire department and police all show up about the same time. The three teens go over to speak to the paramedics, who in turn start to check them over to injuries.

Lyssa talks to the paramedics: "That meteor's alive - it's possible these kids have been infected by something alien - keep them isolated and get them to the xeno ward!"

Lyssa then gives similar warnings to the police and firemen about the meteor.

Dragon Guardian gets up slowly, giving a groan as he stands. "Damn... not doing that any time soon..." He heads for the meteorite, looking it over. "... so just what is it...?" He attempts to touch the meteorite again if no one stops him.

[To Dragon Guardian] Lyssa says, "CAREFUL! It's alive..."

[To Lyssa] Dragon Guardian says, "I know. It's also telepathic."

The policeman nods, "We'll cordon the area off. Did anyone else come into contact with the meteor?" His partner places a call in to dispatch, who in turn contacts Starguard.

Lyssa says, "Um, yes, Dragonfly touched it, but I didn't see where she went."

Dragon Guardian sighs, "I did as well... I'll wait 'til Starguard arrives."

Dragon Guardian actually does touch the meteor, head bowing as he waits to see what happens. After a moment, the gloves on his hands retract backwards to allow actual skin contact with the meteor itself to see what happens.

The policeman nods. "We'll have someone sent to her place of residence. She'll be brought in for tests, and debriefing." He gasps as Dragon Guardian touches the rock again.

Lyssa, by the times she's talking to the authorities, appears as Chrysalis - though she's got a pretty defensive form under the costume still.

Dragon Guardian looks to the policeman, "Keep those kids here. We need to find Dragonfly just in case. I have a theory my armor interfered with it... and whatever it is, it may be some sort of weapon."

Lyssa says, "It could be. Or just some form of alien life."

Lyssa thinks . o O (I wonder if mom would know...)

It's a matter of five minutes before a small VTOL Starguard craft comes in low over the trees, and lands nearby. Several men in white bunny suits hop out of the vehicle, and head toward the crash site.

Dragon Guardian removes his hand from the meteor, gloves sliding back as he turns to head for the paramedics, limping a bit. "You don't know the half of it, Chrysalis. It said it was scanning when I touched it. Then it said something interfered with it. I can only guess it was my armor. Those kids right now are our top priority. We don't know if it's hostile or not."

Lyssa nods. "Did it tell you anythng else?"

The Starguard agents come over to the heroes. One of them says, "Can one of you explain what happened, exactly?" The other agents move to speak to the paramedics and police.

[To Dragon Guardian] Lyssa says, "You know more than I do..."

Lyssa keeps her eye on the kids.

Dragon Guardian shakes his head, "Just that I was unsuitable. Whatever it is, we're dealing with something alien." He turns to talk to the Starguard agents. "We saw a meteor during the storm. Right now, we're not sure what it is. It's alive at the least, or has some means of communicating telepathically. I am guessing Dragonfly tried to slow it as I did, touched it, and for some reason left. My own experience had it saying it was scanning for some reason. Does your team have any sort of medical scanning equipment on them?"

The kids seem alright for the moment. One of the Starguard agents leads them over to their craft, to make sure they're held for observation.

Sorry...pronoun trouble. Over to the SG craft.

The agent nods, "Some equipment, yes. But of course, there is some alien life we're not able to detect. It helps if we've had contact with a particular alien life form before."

Lyssa says, "It's organic, so not too alien, I can tell you that."

The agent nods again, "A transport craft is enroute to pick up the meteorite. We certainly can't leave it here."

He looks to the two heroes, "Is there anything else I should know?"

Dragon Guardian nods. "Maybe I can help? I don't know what happened after I tried to stop it, the impact knocked me out."

Lyssa says, "I wonder..."

Lyssa shifts to a rather bloodhoundy form. She goes about smelling for traces of alien organic material - and using her innate special sense as well - to see if anything else may have been contaminated.

Dragon Guardian sighs as he looks at his armor, seeming to frown a bit, "Nothing else that we can think of, sir. And thank you. You seem a lot nicer than the Starguard I have heard rumors of."

Dragon Guardian says, "Actually... would you mind if I take a sample and see what can be found on it from other sources, sir?"

The Starguard agent shakes his head, "I'm afraid that is a bad idea, until we know what we're dealing with. You can contact the scientists at the DC lab to ask about it, though.

Lyssa identifies all the meteor fragments she finds to Starguard.

A few minutes later, the large SG transport vehicle arrives. The meteorite is loaded into the vehicle with a large hoist, and the other smaller debris is carefully collected by the agents.

Lyssa also checks any nearby people for signs of contamination.

Dragon Guardian hmms, "I see... in that case, I'll contact them at some point." He pauses as he sees what Chrysalis is doing and comments, "Chrysalis, stop sniffing people."

Lyssa says, "It's ok, I don't think any other people are infected. Unless they've left already."

The SG agents and paramedics both check Chrysalis and Dragon Guardian out, and give them each a relatively clean bill of health. Dragon Guardian's arm is bandaged though, and they recommend getting it scanned, since it might be broken.

Dragon Guardian nods. He might be tough, but they're the medics. He'll just have to see if the twins are around just in case.

The police finish taking statements, and the kids and the meteorite are all shipped off to D.C., to the main Starguard facility.

Lyssa asks Starguard to tell her if they find out anything - anyone's guess if they will, of course.

The Starguard agent nods, and makes a note on his PDA, presumably attached to the information he gathered from her.
