The scene is the Hero Bowl an annual college football game, this time contested between CBSU and FSU.

Eva has been invited to the game by one of the youths in the choir, who is on the sidelines carrying the down marker. She has no idea what is going on and rather wishes she was someplace else. Especially as she's surrounded by more of a crowd than she's used to seeing in one spot.

Victor has finally concluded his negotiations for his own skybox with smoking section. He is taking a seat in an overly plush chair while sipping at an ancient brandy. Igor sitting next to him with an overly large form finger on both hands overly excited for the event.

Bundled up against the cold, Eden Jorsted is at the game today. She was here with other friends from her old squad. The plan was, they were all going to enroll in CBSU next semester and try to basically invade and take over the local squad like an incoming army. But, to do that one needs to do recon! So they're spying on their targets to find out what they're good at, what they need work on, and oh look, there's a game going on. Bah, unimportant... the sideline show is the important stuff. Sipping cocoa, the half dozen girls chatter on about whatever...

Curious, having never really attended a rugby/football/handegg game before, Fist is seated atop the skybox. She's never sure if she needs to pay or not for most events, and this one seems to be informal enough to err on the side of not needing to. Plus she isn't in a seat.

Over the public address system, Rex Tyler (the voice of CBSU football!) says, "And now please turn your attention to the center of the field for the coin toss. Presiding over the toss will be the star of Rift III, Colonial Bay's own, Lorelei! "

Down in the center of the field, the three captains of the CBSU football team and the visiting FSU Seminoles face-off. The football players dwarf the referee who's there on hand and he begins to go over the rules of the toss. Lorelei is there as well.

Lorelei, of course, looks cheerful and confidence at the centre of attention - a far cry from the shy girl who came to Colonial Bay a few years ago. If the whole business of a celebrity coin-toss amuses her, she doesn't show it!

Cheers rise up from the crowd at the introduction of Lorelei. The referee begins to speak. He's miked up, so that the entire stadium can hear him. He holds up the coin saying. "This coin has two sides: one for Colonial Bay State University, the other for Florida State University." He holds up the large, commemorative gold and silver coin, and he demonstrates the two sides of it. Once the players have had a chance to see it, he gives the coin to Lorelei.

Right! Celebrity and former rival competitor.. Eden nudges her friends and they all look up at the jumbotron, easier to see details that way. "Hey, that's Stephie... " offers Eden. "I met'er the other day on the street when that.." She shakes her head, "Nevermind, just met'er the other day. She's alright... for the enemy." she offers with a smirk

Lorelei smiles as she takes the coin, and tosses it with a flourish.

The referee picks up the coin after it settles on the grass. "FSU wins the toss!" Some boos begin to rise in the crowd, but some cheers too -- the crowd is almost split fifty fifty with Florida fans and Colonial Bay fans. The FSU quarterback says, "We'll take the ball!" The CBSU captain quickly says, "We'll go that way," waving his hand to indicate which goal his team will start moving towards. The players begin to trot back to the sidelines.

Flying in the air, arriving over the edge of the stadium by the CBSU goal, five figures come into view, moving in a V formation.

Hey, that could be some heroes flying in formation to celebrate the game. Eden points up at the formation and waves her hands as if welcoming or cheering for the sight. Of course, so do the rest of her friends and when half a dozen girls start cheering for something.. guess what happens in a crowd like this!

Eva sees the flying figures but feel no ceoncern. She assumes it's just a part of the pre-game performance.

The referee clicks off his mike and comments aside to Lorelei: "Funny, I didn't think the jets did their fly-by until the end of the national anthem..."

Lorelei says, "Uh-oh...."

Black Queen

A woman in high-tech power armor, with anachronistic touches. The armor is sleek, powerful,
and stylish. It's jet black with a glossy finish to it's hard shell. The lines of the armor
conform to the figure of its wearer, giving it a lightweight silhouette that appears highly
maneuverable. She stands over six feet tall in armor boots, taller than that, if you count the
golden band of metal that sits atop her head, like a crown. The band glows with energy from time to time.

The armor seems to be outfitted with thrusters under boots and along the waist and back. A
large antique amulet is mounted into the chest of the unit. Other than that, it has no apparent
weaponry built-in. A sword hangs from a belt at the woman's waist.

Demon Knights (x2) and Demon Bishops (x2)

A group of unmanned aerial robots, glowing red with magical energy. This
robots are constructed of black painted metal and seem like extremely advanced
military grade hardware. All of them seem infused with some sort of aura of
red energy. Although they seem to be robots, these vehicles move with a
certain kind of sentience to their actions.

The Knight robots are a pair of fast moving flying robots equipped with energy
lances. They are roughly man sized.

The Bishop robots are slow moving robots, basically laser cannons with twin
   lift jets attached.

Victor looks up into the sky with a smile! .oO(They bring their own air show for me! How wonderful!). "Vou zee Igor, zpecial treatment!" He leans back in his plush chair and takes a long drink from his glass and ensure Igor has a drink of his own. (Nonalchoholic of course).

The crowd cheers too at the fly-by!

Lorelei's "Uh-oh" is of course magnified on the big screen.

Lorelei looks about quickly for somewhere to take cover!

Lorelei starts jogging to the side at once - but not so fast she can't dodge.

The flying vehicle angle lower and veer towards the running Lorelei. The energy weapons they are fitted with light up with charge and their guns warm up. The lead figure in the formation draws her sword. "Oh, you're not getting away that easily!"

<SG> Lorelei says, "If anyone's out there - I'm under attack by the Black Queen, at the university stadium!"

Fist looks up from her vantage point, stands in an instant, and leaps out at the lead figure, aiming to bring her down through disorientation and into a non-crowded portion of the stadium.

"Hey waitasec. That's not exactly kosher.." mutters the Norwegian descent speedy girl. "Um, security?" she asks softly as she pulls out her cellphone. "You guys blog, tweat, or whatever. I'm calling 911." she tells her friends as she steps away and starts looking for a spot to change in. She only needs a moment of course... but still.

The Knights fire their thrusters and advance ahead of their wingmates, closing quickly with Lorelei.

The Bishop robots float towards the sidelines of the middle of the field to and overwatch position.

Fist hops up, and then dives toward the lead of the group, her cape carrying her toward her mark, unseen by pretty much everyone without some special means of detecting unseen heroines.

The Black Queen fired her jets and bears towards Lorelei, closing about half the distance between them. "Lorelei," she says, "You're supposed to be super-charismatic, right? Why is it I keep running into people who want you dead!"

Lorelei says, "I didn't think anyone wanted me dead but your family! And that seems to be your problem... well, my problem. Your fault."

Eva isn't sure what is happening. But to act and make a fool of herself is better than failing to act and seeing Lorelei injured. So, pulling the hood of her parka down and forward so her face is definitely not visible, she attempts to misplace Lorelei in the mind of the only actual person she can see.

Victor says, "quickly moves outside his private booth and grits his teeth, drawing his ray gun from his coat pocket and levels it down the field. He takes a moment to breathe and aim as he has for decades of firing, now is the time to prove himself. "

Awk! This sucks! Faking a call to 911, Eden turns and heads off for cover. Her friends are scattering as well and she ducks into the ladies' room. Once inside, she ducks into a stall and mutters softly to herself. "Fourteen thousand witnesses where I need to be... god, I hate this. I wish they still used phone booths these days."

The blast glances off of the Black Queens armor, rocking her flight path a bit, but she easily rights herself. She looks over towards the source of the blast and spots Victor. "Knights, Bishops... Keep any capes who show up off of me. Lorelei is mine!"

Lorelei says, "Hang on a minute... are you saying someone *else* wants me dead? Who?"

"Yeah," the Black Queen says. "It seems like you interfered with the Pale Gentleman and one of his plans. Big mistake. He wants you out of the way so badly, he upgraded my drones for free!"

Lorelei says, "That's an upgrade? Most people don't *want* their equipment possessed by demonns."

Lorelei says, "usually they have enough trouble with their operating systems."

The Black Queen says: "It means I don't have to worry about controlling them. Instead, I can focus on my task -- dicing you into little bits."

Eden is tired of people being stupid in the middle of her fun. So it's time for a change of pace. After a change of clothes. Bullet growls lightly and her buzzing blurring form changes. Good thing she takes that fannypack everywhere. Now it's left in the drop ceiling of the bathroom as the golden-clad speedsterette comes running out of and into the hallway. "You couldn't control a TiVo you heartless *BLEEP!*" states Bullet as her golden blurred form comes to a stop between the Queen and Lorelei, arms folded over her chest.

Lorelei says, "Ah yes - don't want any disractions from your homicidal insanity."

The Black Queen points her sword towards Bullet, then flips it, gesturing for her to move along. "Keep it moving, speedy. You do _not_ want any of this."

Lorelei says, "interesting that this Pale Gentleman is so upset, though. All we did was thwart a few hirelings of his. One could almost think that he's not as impressive as he makes out."

"Oh look, she brought her butterknife. Sorry, this isn't golden spread lady." offers Bullet with a smirk. "I bet you couldn't catch me on your best day anyway. So much for a design upgrade, eh?"

Fist rapidly closes in on her target, adjusting for new vector as she rushes in and aims to tackle the Black Queen to the ground.

"Luckily," the Black Queen says, "I don't have to. Oh, bo-oys..." The Knights and Bishops turn at a her call, and then begin to focus on Bullet.

Fist aims a tackle, bearing the Black Queen to the ground!

Lorelei says, "Oh, by the way. I think that amulet might protect her against mental assault. And that sword of hers is cold iron. I wonder if that bothers demons at all?"

The Black Queen pulls up from her fall before she smashes into the pavement. She skims just above the turf and tries to zoom into Lorelei with both fists.

The Black Queen veers around Bullet, and that causes her to miss Lorelei. "Lucky...!"

Lorelei avoids the Black Queen's blow with a fancy new dodge! Attentive viewers may spot that she used the same move in a fight scene in Rift III.

Eva is in somewhat of a quandry. She's in the midst of a crowd just starting to panic. Anything overt might draw fire, and if it missed her it would surely hit some of the crowd. So she's got to stay inconspicious. The mental illusion would do that, but this time she'll include Fist and Bullet as well as Lorelei in the position shifting.

From overhead, the Bishops rain down laser fire on Bullet while the Knights zoom in and surround fist.

The Knights shift form as motors activate. They transform, sprout legs and land on the turf, flanking Fist, and their energy lances are now employed as energy swords.

Victor grins widely now with an idea.o(Drones...wonderful, i never did get a chance to test this device, good timing.) He replaces his ray gun with a massive remote control unit. He begins to rapid fire tune the device trying to find the frequency the queen is using to have his own fun.

Twisting when the pointy things come in to make her very unhappy, Fist manages to avoid the brunt of their assault, suffering only minor injuries. She turns a glare at the two knights, looking displeased by their choice of weapons.

The Black Queen asks Lorelei, "Aren't you going to ask how my father's doing?"

Snapping to her feet, Fist rushes past the knight who struck her, taking hold of the weapon on the way to take it along with her.

Lorelei says, "You haven't really given me a chance. And you've not taken it well when I've inquired after him before. But - how is he doing?"

The weapon flies along for a few steps with Fist, before going to the ground, pointy end first. Fist on the other hand is a fair distance from the bishops, looking ready again.

The Black Queen lands in melee range of Lorelei. "He's in a Cold Sleep coma, thanks for asking." She lunges forward with her blade.

Lorelei is, to all appearances, ripped wide ioen and tossed halfway across the field by the blow.

Eva is at least persistent. She'll try, try, try again.

The Black Queen sounds pleased with herself. She flicks her blade quickly with her wrist to snap off of Lorelei's blood off of her sword and onto the grass. "Don't worry... I won't spill /all/ of your blood Lorelei. You see, I still need you to save my dad. Pale Gentleman says that he can save him, but I've never been one to trust magic, let alone black magic. In fact, I-- ah!"

The Black Queen's speech is cut short and she's struck by a gatorade bottle, thrown from the stands.

One of the robotic Knights goes to retrieve its sword. The other transforms back into flight mode and zooms after Fist.

Letting the flying knight come at her, Fist turns to let him pass with his weapon, being a much more difficult target now that she's up and ready rather than prone from overextension. She rushes past the flying knight, turns around, and grabs him, sending him straight down into the ground on the way by.

The Knight slams into the ground and falls onto its side. It whirrs and clicks as it tries to right itself and fails.

Bullet pops up to her feet and shakes her head. "You know, it's not polite to cut a lady in half, even if you -are- a woman yourself. Obviously, you're no lady... especially not royalty." Of course, she says this at high speed as she starts accelerating. She runs off to one side and then flashes back to circle around the Black Queen twice, trying to strike her a couple times before streaking off to scoop up a wounded Lorelei and get her further away from the battle.

Lorelei says, "Unh"

One of the Bishops begins to drop from the sky. The other one takes aim at Bullet.

Fist snatches the Knight's pointy thing as she passes him again, eliminating at least part of the threat he presents. She moves toward the bishops, presenting a target for them that isn't Bullet.

Garbage, bottles, ice balls, and boos begin to rain down on the Black Queen from the crowd. It all bounces off her armor harmlessly.

"See? You can't even keep a good gal down!" yells Bullet as she scoops up Lorelei and speeds away at around seventy mph. "You're gonna be okay Lore. Just need t'getcha.... UNHHH!" grunts Bullet as a blast strikes her in the upper right shoulder and sends her tumbling to the ground, Lorelei dropped as the speedster skids along the ground, punch drunk.

Fist accepts the knight's gift of spearamajig, running off with it to present a target for the bishops to play with.

The Black Queen looks up at the crowd in Eva's direction and she taps at the amulet that's forged into the chestplate of her armor. Then she flies full speed and lands next to Bullet. She flips her sword around in her grasp and prepares to land a downward coup the grace on Bullet.

Eva says, "discards inconspicsious after seeing the Black Quuen looking in her direction. Her eyes glow and a visible wave of telekinetic force sweeps out as she attempts to pull the downed Bullet's prone from out from beneath the sword point."

The Knight with no weapon recovers.

Eva snatches Bullet out from under the sword, clumsy at the range and bumping Bullet along the astoturf for a few yards before getting better control.

The second Knight coverts to flight mode. It flies up to Fist, but then waits, perhaps waiting for an opening to attack.

"Hmph," The Black Queen says, watching as Eva levivates Bullet out of reach. "I guess it's not your turn. No matter..." She looks towards the recoving Lorelei. "I've got what I've come for."

Victor is at the same tricks, fixing the freqency on the next bishop. He fiddles with his remote to shut down this one too. With a grin he hits the enter button, "Bi-bi"

Fist rushes to Black Queen's location, providing an interfering target between herself and Lorelei, looking ready with the spearamajig.

Lorelei pulls herself up off the ground, her one arm againt the great bleeding gash though her middle - but she laughs, and shakes her head at the Black Queen. And as loud as she can, to be heard by the crowd, she says, "You don't know what you're doing - you've bitten off more than you can chew! Look around you - do you really think Colonial Bay is going to stand for this - Colonial Bay, city of heroes? To say their own, cut open in front of them? Do you? Do you think you and your demons-possessed robots will even make it out of here in one piece? WHAT DO YOU SAY, COLONIAL BAY?! WILL YOU STAND FOR THIS?!"

All hell breaks loose...

Anything the crowd can lay its hands on gets thrown onto the field. They try to aim for the Black Queen but the downpour of junk covers the entire field. The football players of both teams charge forward, more than a hundred in young men in all, eager to show that they won't stand for this. Some of the fans start to spill down onto the field as well.

Rex Tyler narrates the chaos as best he can over the PA speakers.

The Queen seems genuine shocked at whats taking place. She's barely moving as she looks at the crowd closing in from all directions.

Victor looked at Black Queen.

Having taken notice of something before, Fist picks up Black Queen by the neck and chest, keeping her hand covering the amulet as she runs off with the villainous villainess.

"Maybe... I..." The Black Queen is at a loss for words. She looks towards Lorelei and finally shouts, "Cheater! ... I had you beat! I had won... until you went and did all of this!" She tries to kick herself free of Fist's grasp. "Let go of me!"

The Black Queen manages to free herself from Fist's grasp.

Eva sees the Black Queen is visibly shaken by the reaction of the crowd. And it seems the Black Queen is controlling the machines, at least in overall activities. Heroes would have joined in by now, but an illusion of villains, outraged by the insult to the city, throwing secret IDs and clothes to the wind as they storm out from the seats to deal with the attackers might work to chase her off.

Not letting up yet, Fist runs past Black Queen again, snatching her arm and tossing her in the general direction that she had been going before.

Fist waits then, spear in one hand, standing by the Black Queen to severely interfere with her actions.

Fist elects not to hitch a ride just yet. Especially if Queen's attention is on her primarily.

The Black Queen flies straight up, to get away from the angry mob. "We're not through, Lorelei. I'll be back, and next time, you won't have fifty thousand people to help bail you out!"

Lorelei says, "Not bad, but you need to work on the cackle..."

Eva starts making her way towards Lorelei to heal, but having to go through the crowd and being slow on foot, she'll be a few seconds getting there.

The Black Queen flips Lorelei the bird.

Lorelei looks about to see what the demon-robots are doing.

Lorelei keeps a watch on the villains, to make sure they continue their retreat - or at least aren't actively hostile. While trying to maintain a brave face to keep the crowd worked up.

The two Knights and the Bishop fly up and follow the Queen out of the stadium.

Lorelei tries to give the crowd a sense of success and lead them in a victory cheer - before they trample each other in their enthusiasm.

Eva is kept busy, not just Lorelei is hurt, but the crowd reaction will have caused many injuries of lesser natire.

The crowd seems elated -- they succeeded in chasing off a super villain! "Lorelei! Lorelei!" someone starts a chant.

Once she's sure that the worst is over, Fist moves to where Lorelei is, to help Eva with healing. Primarily of Lorelei, since she took the worst, then others, in order of obvious severity.

Lorelei's wound is already healing a bit, even before it's looked at.

"....Volkswagon..." murmurs Bullet as she comes around. Her eyes flicker about and she shakes her head as she levers herself to her feet, "Damn." she mutters, "Where..." and she looks around for Lorelei on the ground... of course Lorelei's on her feet. "Oh, there you are." She looks kinda sheepish, "Sorry I didn't get you outa ... huh?" she asks as she looks around at the crowd. "What gives?"

Lorelei says, "They're gone. Chased off by by the crowd."

Eva sneaks away after the injurues have been dealt with, trying to maintain some degree of her identity as secret.

Nodding her head, a bit confused.. Bullet replies, "Yes.. I can see that. I was wondering what suddenly made the crowd sound like they were at some medieval hanging.."

The football players are the first of the bystanders to circle around Lorelei. They'll pick her up and carry her off the field if she allows.

Lorelei accepts the acclaim of the crowd - not from any desire for it but again, to get them focused on something other than violence. She's picked up before she can give Bullet even the modest explanation she'd intended.

Victor smiles broadly and and slides his devices back into his pocket. He calmly walks back into the booth to collect Igor while he fires a flare into the sky to produce the Lightning!.

Victor quickly has his group collect one of the Bishops loading it into the Blimp while he goes and checks on Lorelei, "Vour okay, child?"

Lorelei says, "I'll be fine...."
