Icon floats towards the tower, coming from an old Baronial Manor nearby. He peers looking towards the strange hill, sensing something strange, drawing him towards it.

The sonic boom announces Bullet as he flies in at ridiculous speed, before going back to get his next passenger, even faster now he knows the way....

Icon is startled by a sonic boom, looking over at the source of the noise.

Rebound arrives as the first passenger on teh Bullet express. He spends a moment massaging his cheeks with his fingers, flexing his features back into shape after the high speed flight.

Gemini arrives next, grinning all over their faces after the supersonic flight. "Yes! That's fun! Let's do it again."

Bullet grins, happy to see someone else enjoying it. "Sure thing, after we've stopped the bad guys."

Jace is about already, wearing a T-Shirt from a japanese pop band and walkings about looking lost with a PDA in hand and ear phones until...that is untile the sonicboom!

A sonic boom announces the arrival of the final passenger, a dark-haired woman who is attired in medieval style clothing as a noble woman. She takes a moment to hurredly straighten her clothing after being buffeted by the winds. "There may not be much time," she says. She reaches into pouch that she wears along her waist and searches for something.

Icon floats upwards into the sky, to gain a better look over the area.

Rebound spots someone familiar looking. "Jace? Is that you...?"

Jace smiles and nods with a wave, "Whats doing Rebound? What brings you out to Glastonbury?"

Gemini looks over in the direction Rebound is facing when he speaks. "Who's him?"

Rebound points his thumb back towards the ruins of St. Michael's Church. "We've got some artifacts to retrieve." He nods to Gemini. "He's another one of our... my teammates..."

Jace says, "Artifacts you say....Well count me in then"

The Lady stretches out a fine thread of silver, weighted at the end with a crystal pendant. It's a little over three feet in length. She begins to twirl it in front of her, like an airplane propeller.

Bullet watches the lady, wondering what she's up to.

Gemini kicks her heels, both pairs, starting to get bored.

Gemini says, "Where's the villains? If you can decoy them onto Salisbury range I can engage them. All you'll have to do then is watch and pick up the pieces later."

Bullet raises a skeptical eyebrow. Of course, that's lost behind the mask.

Jace says, "Right.....So who's your friends?"

"There is a barrier outside the true location of the ring." The Lady says. "I will open a way inside. I just pray that we arrived before the Guardian is alerted."

Bullet says, "Just tell me where is is - I'll get us there before anyone!"

Icon looks down at the hill, then floats towards the tower.

Rebound spots Icon and shakes his head. "Jeez... did someone drop the Transmat fare between here and Colonial Bay?" He looks over at Jace. "Jace, meet the speedy Bullet. The twins, or I guess who the twins used to be. And The Lady of the Lake. Yeah... it's a bit of a story."

Icon pauses as he looks down at the hill. He studies the layout of the hill, and his eyes start following the concentric rings and terraces they form. o O (Ahh, an ancient pattern perhaps... tres bien...)

One of the twins is looking up at Icon. "He has to be a villain, surely? Even discounting the flying bit nobody but a villain would dress like that."

Bullet says, "I don't know him...."

The twirling pendant begins to glow tracing the arc of a circle in the air. Slowly, the circle begins to form a sort of portal with a landscape appearing beyond it.

Jace says, "Yea, your not kidding, Hi Mr. Bullet...? Anyway...whats the deal going on now?"

Rebound says, "His name is Icon. He's a good guy, from Colonial Bay. I'll see if I can get his attention."

Icon looks down, then looks beyond the portal. o O (Oh la la... I knew there was something here.)

Jace shrugs a bit, "Well I hope the sun goes down before this whole deal happens...whatever that is...but i got your bad buddy boy"

The landscape beyond the portal, actually, looks very similar to the regular landscape of Glastonbury Tor... only different. Gazing through the aperture, the church stands on the hill in pristine condition, with it's roof intact. The hill is surrounded in tall hedgerows, groomed and sculpted into a labyrinth on concentric paths.

Bullet says, "I can't work out what world we're on, half the time..."

The Lady steps back from the portal as the spinning pendant magically disappears. "The ring is hidden in the sanctuary beyond this opening. We must beware... Merlin has left a Guardian here, to safeguard the items from falling into the wrong hand."

Icon floats towards the portal, moving closer to the Lady who opened it.

Gemini asks, "Through here?" and they step in through the portal.

Bullet flies through the portal. "So where here is the ring?"

Jace pops his earphones out and walks through the portal, "This seems a bit familiar.."

The Lady regards Icon as he approaches. "Who are you? Of the people I have encountered here so far, your garb seems the most familiar..."

Icon nods and says, "I am Lord Icon, and you are who?"

Rebound shrugs and looks to Bullet. "You get used to it..." But by the time he says it Bullet is gone.

"Lady Juliet, daughter of Francis, of House York." The Lady says. "If you are familiar to these others, then I shall count you as a friend as well."

On the other side of the portal, it's sundown -- the sun has disappeared over the horizon, but it still lights the edge of the sky with orange.

Icon looks again at the portal and says, "A portal through time? Or another world, very fascinating." looking at the church. "House of York. Delightful."

Icon motions and says, "After you madame." allowing her through first.

Jace shivers, his eyes beginning to fill with darkness. "Now this..i like..magic with darkness."

Gemini asks Bullet, "If you're all from Colonial Bay where are all the real heroes? Fortitude, Bolt, Silvr Spider, Rampage, Random, all those. I've never heard of any of you bunch."

Gemini shrugs, Not that any of us have been there for a couple of years now."

Rebound steps through the portal as well. "Ouch. I think I bruised my ego... Silver Spider is active, but the rest are away, mostly."

The Lady steps through the portal. "According to inscriptions from Sir Bedivere's tomb, the ring is hidden in the altar of the Church." She points up to the rejuvenated structure of the church standing on the hill ahead.

Jace says, "Well then, this shouldnt be too hard"

Icon looks up at the church and says, "Ahhh, that would be hmmm." pausing to think

Bullet shrugs. "What can I say? I'm new on the scene."

Gemini starts jogging up the hill towards the church,

Rebound looks to Bullet. "Want to scout ahead?"

Bullet does a rapid there-and-back to scout the place out, at a mere 597 mph.

Jace starts moving up the hill himself, watching the two Gemini...oO(Man, that is SO fricken weird..)

Icon looks to the Lady and says, "Do we just walk in, or is there a special way into the church. I couldn't but notice the maze, does it have significance?"

The Lady tells Icon, "We may simply walk in. Or fly, as it seems a few of you are suitably abled."

Icon nods and says, "Of course." then walks into the church with the lady.

Jace slows down to let those who know whats going on enter, but he follows suit after

Bullet, in a rush of wind, reappears - with a ring.

Bullet says, "There were a couple of guys in there, but I managed to grab the ring from them."

Gemini grins at Bullet. "You got it I see. Stirred anything interesting up?"

Bullet says, "They saw me. Didn't see any guardian or anything though."

Icon looks at Bullet, "A ring? It was on the altar? Not very hidden."

Jace says, "We sure thats the right ring?"

The Lady steps towards Bullet. "Is that it?" She asks to inspect the ring, holding out her hand and offering, "May I?"

At the church, at the top of the hill a pair of men run out, chasing after Bullet.

Jace says, "Aha...those must be them."

Gemini says, "Neat. Company. Looks like those two think it's the right ring."

Bullet hands the ring to the lady, hoping she is indeed one of the good guys - at least she seems to be an enemy of the other lot, who seemed unfriendly.

Gemini activate their force armors.

Icon looks up at the men, "What is this ring anyways? Why do you want it?"

Barely visible as a dark shape against the dark sky, something whooshes through the air far over head announcing it's presence with a snarling roar. It rolls in the air and begins to swoop towards the people gathered about the ring. As gets nearer, it's full size becomes apparent as does it's nature: there's a dragon incoming quickly, with smoke trailing from it's nostrils.

Icon looks up and concentrates, as an amethyst like energy surrounds him.

Bullet thinks . o O (Damn.)

Icon looks at the portal and says, "If that is the ring, then I highly suggest we leave quickly."

The Lady says, "The Guardian..."

Gemini laughs, "Yeah. That's interesting. Looks like you managed to stir up something after all."

Bullet sweeps up the lady to whisk her back through the portal as soon as may be.

Bullet disappears out through the portal, getting the lady to safety.

Icon looks over as the lady was there, and is now not there. He glances over to the portal, and then back to the dragon. He shakes his head a bit. o O (How rude...)

The dragon watches with narrowed eyes as Bullet and the Lady disappear through the portal. It buzzes the ground sweeping past over the heads of the other heroes and it flies after the speedster. It reaches the portal and manages to wedge it's head and shoulders through the opening. It tries to force its way through, but can't seem to squeeze past.

Gemini grins. The dragon is blocking the portal? No problem. Separating to approach on either side they pull back a foot and kick it firmly in the hindquarters.

Gemini kick the dragon's butt from each side at the sdame time.

The dragon snarls.

Gemini tells the heroes, "I'll keep it busy while you are getting out of here."

Rebound looks at the blocked portal. "Hunh. Now what to we do?" He look around and snatches up a rock. He slings it at the dragon's backside, taunting. "Hey! Over here!"

Rebound says, "Jace is up"

Jace says, "Well...now."

Jace takes shadows form with a ripple of darkness energy around him. "I think I can help Bazzaro Twins..." Silver levels a locked elbow at the dragon after floating a bit into the air. "Lets see how he likes this! I always wanted to slay a dragon!" Lets loose with a shadowbeam

The shadowbeams find their mark, The...impact seems like a poor choice on words...perhaps more slap the dragon's back, barely even marring him.

Icon floats towards the portal and looks at it, pausing a moment. He calls out, "Can you hear me m'Lady?? If so, I have an idea."

"Lord Icon? What is it?" The Lady calls back. The sound is muffled slightly by the interposed dragon.

Icon coughs and says, "Can you open and close the portal at will?" then pauses, "If so, close the portal, and he'll be uhmm, well you know."

"I cannot... not with something blocking it like this."

Icon shrugs and thinks.

Bullet sets the lady down and then looks back at the dragon blocking the portal. "This might hurt," he thinks as he flies back toward the dragon, trying to knock it back through the portal.

Bullet slams as hard as he (accurately) can into the dragon. The dragon doesn't budge. He however, is stunned.

The dragon reels slightly from the force of the blow, raising its head to shake it a little. It's reptilian eyes come back into focus on the source of the attack. It draws in a deep breath and when it opens it's mouth a cone of fire erupts forth.

Bullet is too shaken to defend himself.

The Lady raises her hands an quips something in an ancient tongue: "Vara tel' seldarine!" A shimmer circle of light appears in front of Bullet.

Roaring flames beat against the barrier of light until it shatters. It holds just long enough to protect Bullet, and the Lady standing behind him. She staggers backwards a few steps, apparently affected by the exertion.

Glastonbury Tor is a teardrop-shaped hill at Glastonbury, Somerset, England, with its only standing architectural feature the roofless St Michael's Tower of the former church. The Tor has a striking location in the middle of the plains called the Summerland Meadows.

Gemini can hear the roar of flames on the other side of the portal. She's the senior officer on hand, albeit the only one, and so it's her task to protect these civilians despite the mind-lock imposed on her. Giving the dragon sufficient distraction is her only option. Stepping up closer Jennifer lifts the dragon's tail. Jessica steps in and gives the dragon a solid boot right where he (?) lives.

Icon concentrates on the Dragon, focusing on the beasts mind, attempting to confuse the mind of the creature.

Gemini puts the boot in. Jennifer looks at Jessica, "Doesn't that hurt?" Jessica answers, "Not when I'm wearing army boots." and they both laugh.

Icon focuses and says, "Oh look, the lady is over there, as if trying to add more affect to his illusion."

Rebound picks up another rock. This time, he stretches his thumb around the rock, like a pocket, and pulls it back, stretching out his digit until it's taut. He uses it to snap the rock forward at the dragon's rump.

The dragon jerks at the sharp impact of the rock against it's hide. It roars angrily, belching smoke through its nostrils.

The dragon backs it's ponderous frame though the portal and turns to face the heroes who were previous behind it. It inhales sharply, and then breathes fire.

Gemini get rolled over on the ground from the flames.

Icon is blasted by the fire hit, the protective sphere of his outer defense cracks, allowing fire in. He stumbles backwards onto the ground, luckily still protected by his psychokinetic forcefield.

Glastonbury Tor is a teardrop-shaped hill at Glastonbury, Somerset, England, with its only standing architectural feature the roofless St Michael's Tower of the former church. The Tor has a striking location in the middle of the plains called the Summerland Meadows.

Gemini says, "rolls back onto their feet and runs to the dragon. Leaping up each side of the head they attempt to form a blindfold using their own torsos to cover it's eyes, grabbing hand to foot onto each other encircling the drafgon's head."

Gemini manages to cover one eye of the dragon, Jessica being tossed off from her position.

Icon concentrates, reforming his psychokinetic shielding. He looks at the gate and launches for it, concentrating as fast as he can to get to it.

Jace flies out through the portal to the other side.

Bullet flies through the portal and sweeps up the twins and Rebound to carry them back, assuming they let him.

Bullet dashes through the portal, sweeps up Rebound, squashes Jessica up against him in one arm, grab Jennifer with the other arm and is back through the portal before the dragon can react.

Gemini grins at Bullet, "Thanks." Then the twins look back towards the portal with cold hard faces, "Make it on army ground next time, Flamebreath. I won't be mind-locked then."

The Lady steps forward quickly and pulls at an invisible thread at the center of the portal. The portal comes apart like an unravelling garment an disappears, leaving her hold just the silver wire and the crystal again.

Rebound says, "Thanks for the lift, Bullet!"

Icon releases his protection, floating downwards to the ground. "All this for a ring?"

Bullet puts everyone down again. "Say - are the bad guys going to be having trouble with the dragon?"

"I trust that they'll be resourceful enough to escape," the Lady says. "Likely by the same way they entered the area."

Bullet nods. "Does that mean they'll still be a problem?"

Gemini wanders over cheerfully, "This is more like fun. What's next?"

The Lady says to Icon. "It's not just a ring, Lord Icon. It is a key of sorts. With it, we can unlock the magic that holds Excalibur sealed away."

Rebound nods. "Right. So back to Norwich Cathedral?" He looks to Bullet.

Icon nods and says, "Excalibur. You seek the sword for what reason?"

Bullet says, "Was that where Excalibur is? I've lost track."

The Lady says, "The sword is needed. As it was once needed by Arthur in this realm, it is now needed by the rightful king in my own realm."

Rebound nods. "Yep. I've been keeping notes." He smirks.

Icon nods and says, "So your king needs a sword." then smiles

Bullet says, "Ok - who's first for the Bullet Express?"

Rebound shrugs and raises his hand. "I could use the miles."

Bullet takes Rebound first. He figures it's probably best to take the lady in the middle, to make sure she has a bodyguard at either end.

Next stop is the crypt in the basement of the Norwich Cathedral, the final resting place of Sir Bedivere. The first area seems like a small chapel of sorts. The second area, beyond the chapel, is a tomb, dominated by a giant stone coffin in the center.

Bullet does a sweep of the place before we go in, to make sure the bad guys haven't returned.

Bullet returns. "Looks all clear."

"Whats this..." the Lady asks. The ring begins to glow, with a pale blue light shining from the gemstone set into it. She holds the ring in her palm. The ring turns in her hand, and the light falls across the giant stone coffin.

Bullet says, "Isn't it supposed to do that?"

"Apparently."

A ghostly shape appears from the coffin as a corpse-like form seems to sit up, rising through the heavy stone lid of the coffin.

Bullet says, "Is it a bit creepy down here, or have I been watching too many horror movies?"

Bullet says, "Nope. It's creepy."

Icon waits then looks at the ghostly apparation, "Sacre dieu, a phantom."

The form rises to its feet slowly. Slowly the ghost begins to change, as years of decay and rot begin to fade. It's carrying a sword in it's right hand.

Bullet watches, ready to act if it turns out not to be as friendly as the lady is presumably expecting.

Gemini is quiet for once.

The form rises to its feet slowly. Slowly the ghost begins to change, as years of decay and rot begin to fade. It's carrying a sword in it's right hand.

Icon looks at the sword, examining the item. "That is excalibur? Oui?"

The phantom begins to walk forward. "Milady..." it says in a gravelly tone that sounds as old as the stones of the cathedral. He crouches down on one knee before the lady and holds up blade, offering it to her. "Allow me to present to you... Excalibur..."

The lady takes the blade by it's hilt and in passing from the ghosts hands to the Lady's, the sword seems to become a real blade, forged of steel.

Bullet thinks . o O (Neat trick.)

"There is no excuse for the mistake that I made long ago... attempting to keep the sword as my own..." the kneeling ghost says.

Gemini watches quietly from the background.

"Sir Bedivere," the Lady says. "Rise. It is true. You have made terrible error. But you have also paid a terrible price for your transgression. I think that perhaps now, after all this time, your debt may be considered repaid. It is not my position to judge however."

"Thank you..." the ghost says. It's figures have been human now, that of an old man, dressed in his armor. "Thank you." His voice is softer now, more normal sounding.

The ghost of the old man looks upwards, the lines of his face shifting as his eyes widen in amazement. "I... I can hear them. My old comrades... calling for me to take my old seat at the Round Table."

The Lady smiles. "Then go to them, Sir Bedivere. Your obligations here are complete."

"Thank you, Milady." Bedivere says. He bows his head in deference, before he turns and begins to walk away. He passed through the stone wall of the burial vault and disappears from view.

Gemini turns her attention away from the ghost to the Lady and the sword she's carrying. "That's Excalibur?"

The Lady looks to the gathered heroes. "And I believe the same can be said for all of you. You have fulfilled your duty quite admirably this day. Perhaps, later, the tales of your heroism will be carried will be carried down over the generations."

The Lady nods. "Indeed." It doesn't seem like anything particularly special, except that it looks polished to almost shining brilliance. There are words etched on the blade. On one side it reads 'take me up'. On the other half of the blade is written: 'cast me away'.

Gemini is actually a little diffident as she asks, "Do you.. I mean... can I hold it?"

Bullet isn't quite sure what to say. "Uh, thank you, ma'am."

The Lady smiles to Gemini. "Yes, you may.... but not now."

"We will meet again at another time, in another place. And then the moment shall be right for you to hold the sword."

Gemini starts to say something but all of a sudden they stop without having much more than opened their mouths. Coming to attention they snap off smart salutes, "Yes, Lady."

The Lady shifts the sword to her off hand, while she takes her portal-opening thread in the other. "And now, it must take my leave of you. Good luck in your continued adventures."

Bullet says, "Good luck to you, ma'am."

Gemini holds her stiff posture of attention a while longer as the Lady prepares to depart.

She spins the thread to open a portal. Beyond it a section of the countryside, the shoreline of a lake. The exact location of the place isn't immediately clear.

The Lady steps through and the portal disappears behind her.
