"I have not been actively on the case nor do I examine the specimens." Skysabre replies. "I am waiting for results the same as you are."

Yolanda nods. "I've had a chance to examine the specimen and perform a psychometric reading on them. I was able to determine that both were separated at some point from a larger organism. The bit of hair comes from a larger wall of hair. From what I could tell, it was someplace dark and musty. I'm guessing the sewers. The vines came from a larger plant, someplace where sun could shine on them."

Yolanda adds, "Maybe somewhere outdoors."

"But they are terrestrial?" Skysabre asks.

SG scientists believe the hair and plant is terrestrial, not of alien origin.

Yolanda says, "I'm guessing that they are. The plant seems like a mutant version of a kudzu plant."

Btw, Barricade is your liason and will be answering your questions.

"That may limit my ability to remain involved." Skysabre replies. "This may be ruled as a domestic political affair."

Yolanda says, "Hmm. What sorts of matters are you allowed to act on?"

Barricade glances at his notes. "How unfortunate.. Kudzu plants... how do they reproduce? This creature seems hostile, and it might be worth looking into in case somehow these plants spread out to other worlds.."

"The horde being an extraterrestrial invasion was a clear case where I would be permitted to work closely with human authorities." Skysabre replies. "But if this is a political assassination using home grown mutants...It is a question for the Elders and Starguard." It glanes at Barricade. "Not likely given your primitive space travel capabilities. However the presence of such engineered lifeforms should provide an added context to a search for motive."

Barricade nods. "I would be careful myself."

"So far," Yolanda says, "There's no indication of it being a political matter, Skysabre. I was talking with the police earlier, and they were able to point out a few interesting facts."

"What did you uncover?" Skysabre asks.

Yolanda says, "Councilor Eagleton routinely contributed money to two companies: Peabody Nursery - a plant nursery, and Karatin Inc, a company that makes hair products, among other things. Both companies were founded around the same time."

"And why would this lead you to believe that this was not a political killing?" Skysabre asks. "It seems clearly connected to the Councilor's business interests."

Yolanda hmm and places a hand on her hip. "You're right -- it could be a factor. We might ask if there have been any matters in front of the City Council that might be related. Also the nursery has a location on the outskirts of town that we might visit."

"It should be done with caution. Where there is one there are others." Skysabre comments. "We may also want to investigate their backgrounds."

Yolanda nods. "Definitely. The vine that you caught last night was just one bit of a larger plant... we should be careful if we go there. Actually, you might be the ideal sort to check it out. Those plants seems to be able to sense humans pretty easily."

Skysabre hmms. "It would not be proper to put humans in danger if I can excuse them from it."

Yolanda stands in the lobby of Starguard, talking with Skysabre.

Yolanda smiles. "Well, thank you, on behalf of us humans who will probably end up in harm's way."

Regent flies down outside, and lands entering SGG HQ. He's looking around as if for someone specific.

Skysabre nods to Yolanda. "My primary function is reconaissance. Hopefully I can be of service. If only my communications array were active..."

Regent see's Yolanda and Skysabre and is about to greet them when he notices the tone of their conversation and isn't sure he's invited, so he walks towards the reception desk and gets ready to ask if the twins were working.

Yolanda spot Regent and waves. "Matt..."

Skysabre glances towards Regent, but doesn't comment.

Regent stops just before talking to the receptionist and nods, "Yes Ma'am?" and walks over to the two.

Barricade is chatting with Yolanda and Skysabre. He notices Regent and nods a greeting towards him. "They aren't here.." He comments.

Yolanda smiles. "It's been a while since I've seen you. How are things?"

Skysabre nods slightly to Regent. "Matthew Regent."

Yolanda says, "How are classes going?"

Regent shrugs, "Classes are ok, College isn't as tough as I thought it would be. I was looking for the girls, have you seen them?"

Regent nods to Skysabre, "Skysabre," he pauses, "So..whats going on? you two seem rather..serious."

Barricade nods to Regent. "You.. um heard about the death of the city councilman last night?"

Regent nods, "it was all over the holo, accident no?"

Barricade shakes his head at Regent, "I said, they aren't here.. said that earlier.."

Barricade points at Yolanda and Skysabre, "I don't think they believe it was an accident. weather was pretty bad last night.."

"Almost certainly not." Skysabre replies to Regent. "Unless we are looking at a truly coincidental set of circumstances."

Regent blinks, "Oh..you mean the twins aren't here. Ok.." he looks around.."Not an accident?...Whats up? Need some help?"

Yolanda nods her head, agreeing with Skysabre. "The concilor was attacked and killed by a carnivorous plant, and the driver by some sort of hair creature.

"No, she is not joking." Skysabre deadpans.

Yolanda says, "The driver survived."

Barricade goes back to jotting down notes and talking to SG officers via his comm unit.

Regent raises an eyebrow.."Um..plants an hair..ok...so what are we looking for?"

"We hope to answer that question tonight with the investigation of a nursery." Skysabre replies.

Yolanda says, "Ok. Councilor Eagleton regularly contributed to two companies, Karatin and the Peabody Nursery. Karatin makes hair products. The only contact information I have for them is a post office box. The Nursery has a location in the western suburbs. I think that's our next stop."

Yolanda says, "I was able to see a bit more of the creatures via postcognition. The hair was part of a larger creature, living somewhere in the sewer."

Yolanda says, "The plant was part of a larger plant, growing someplace green, like in the forest. Maybe a nursery."

"I wish that I could transmit what I see to you." Skysabre replies to Yolanda. "You are in the best position to evaluate any situation."

Regent frowns.."In the sewer?..part of the Horde?"

Yolanda hmm. "I wish I could show you what I've seen..." She frowns slightly. "I'm not sure if I'm necessarily the best person to evalute. I'll try."

Regent nods, "I'm in..I'm sure the girls would be interested in this.." he pulls his PDA, "Let me try to raise them.."

"Not likely." Skysabre replies to Regent. "There are no known horde-types that fit this description."

Lightray enters from Alien District.

Barricade glances up. "It's not like they are dead.."

Regent says into the PDA "Love." and he's connected to their PDA, "Hey..call me back, looks like there may be some trouble, Hair monster and Plant monster..wierd stuff. I'm here at SGG right now, call me when you get this. Love you." and he hangs it up. "Ok..well..I tried."

The SG officer looks over to Skysabre, "well, you never know. probably a good idea to check to make sure."

Regent nods to Skysabre.."True..what did you mean Barricade?"

Yolanda says, "We still don't have a motive, yet."

Barricade smiles to Regent, "raise them? That sounds like raising the dead.. You know?" He chuckles at his own private joke.

Lightray strides into the Reception Area. He nods to YOlanda and Skysabre, thenlets his gaze go to the tohers present.

Regent says, "Maybe..uh..he was going to cut funding for some program that was developing secret hair and plant control devices that were to be used in military efforts world wide?""

Barricade is an SG officer assisting the heroes.

Skysabre shakes its head at Regent. "We have made a connection between the Councilman and these two establishments...But from there we are in the dark."

Regent looks at Barricade.."You're a Demons and Dragons guy aren't you?"

Yolanda nods "We should check that angle. Skysabre was suggesting that we should watch the political angle." She spots Lightray and waves. "Good evening."

Barricade tells Regent, "I played some Halberd Hack when I was a kid."

Lightray smiles. "Hello doctor. It is good to see you again." He then adds after a beat. "Ah, a political angle. How about why does a man leave a thrving medical practice in Boston suddenly and come to Colonial Bay and take up politics?"

"One initially thinks in order to escape something...but a Councilman position is a high profile lifestyle." Skysabre comments to Lightray.

Yolanda offers her hand to Lightray. "In the confusion, I didn't really get a chance to meet you. I'm Dr. Yolanda Simmons."

Yolanda says, "Oh, one more thing that the police were able to determine -- Concilor Eagleton's itinerary for the evening. This is somewhat sensitive -- I'd imagine that the police would appreciate our not disclosing this information to the public:"

Lightray takes the doctor's hand and shakes firmly. "No we did not, did we? I am Lightray."

Regent turns to Lightray.."I am Matthew Regent, some here call me Exodus. Nice to meet you." the glow of his body extends to his hand as he extends it."

Yolanda says, "The driver picked up Eagleton from work, they picked up the Councilor's wife. They went to dinner and to a play. The driver says the limo was unattended for a while during the play -- he went to get a quick meal. After the play, he dropped off Mrs. Eagleton at home, and took Mr. Eagleton to his office. After the office, Eagleton got into the limo. He placed two calls -- one to his wife -- an 'I'll be working late' call. The second was to an exclusive club in the Red Light District called Kissing Isle."

Yolanda says, "He never made it to the Isle -- the attack happened while the limo was enroute."

The tendril-like wings that moves from the gem on Lightray's chest to sweep over his back stir as he shakes hands with MAtthew Regent. "Good to meet you, Exocdus."

Regent nods.."Nice to meet you sir." he says as he shakes the man's hand. "Light powers eh?...I've got them too." he looks over to Yolanda, "So he was killed on his way to the club?"

Yolanda says, "That's right. If I can get your PDA numbers, I'll forward the information that I was able to gather."

Regent nods and gives her his.

"My intuition about the Councilman's purpose in that area was correct." Skysabre reports.

Lightray smiles slightly. "I am afraid I do not have a PDA, doctor. But if I may view the information for a moment?"

Lightray adds. "Councilman Eagleton was a strong proponent of stem cell research to the point of donating generously from his own funds. Could that be a motive?"

Regent nods.."That sounds like genome research to me."

"It could be poetic justice." Skysabre comments. "Death by the fruit of his own labor."

Yolanda nods. "The thought did cross my mind, Skysabre. The individual vine and hair sample don't seem that intelligent, but the larger creatures that created them might be."

Yolanda says, "The way that I see it, we have three leads. 1) Go to the nursery. 2) Let the hair sample go -- it might lead us to it's parent in the sewers. 3) Check out the club. Personally, I'm in favor of number one."

Lightray hmms. "Councilman Eagleton while in medical school did do research in stem cells, I believe, at Duke. It seemed like he was contemplating an MD/PhD, but never finished the PhD part." He nods to Yolanda. "Yes, I think looking at the nursery would be a good idea. It seems a likely place to find out more information."

"I will conduct preliminary reconaissance on the nursery, to prevent any plants there from becoming...excited." Skysabre comments.

Regent nods. "I will help in anyway possible." his hand lights in a flame. "Whatever is necessary."

Yolanda nods to Skysabre. "Keep in touch via PDA?"

Lightray nods to Skysabre. "I would imagine that a wall of these plants woule be strnger than the one we encountered, Air Commander. And may have a longer reach."

Yolanda thinks of something that draws a curious expression to her face. She looks over at Lightray. o O ( He has no PDA? )

Everyone is at the SG Lobby discussing the plans for the (day/night?). Barricade is there as well, the SG liason to the heroes in this case.

Late due to not realizing the time, Halcyon appears but invisibly, announcing her presence via PDA to Yolanda.

Skysabre nods to Lightray. "That's a given. But I have an advanced optical suite and no blood."

Regent says, "I have the eyes of an eagle and see in the dark, It would seem Skysabre and I are well suited for reconaaissance.""

Yolanda checks her PDA. "Halcyon is here... somewhere."

Yolanda says, "Matt, be careful -- the plant can smell blood."

Crater enters from Alien District.

Regent nods, "I'll be up high...is there evidence that it can attack from a distance?"

Everyone is at the SG Lobby discussing the plans for the (day/night?). Barricade is there as well, the SG liason to the heroes in this case. (Re for the new comers)

Lightray shakes his head. "Insufficient data to tell, Exodus."

Yolanda messages back to Halcyon. 'Can you come out? We can discuss the plan.'

Halcyon's message in reply: 'I don't want to be seen by Starguard'

Yolanda nods, reading something from her PDA. "Halcyon will join us once we step outside...."

Regent nods to Lightray. "lets do this. Time is wasting."

Skysabre nods, moving to leave starguard.

Far out west of the city of Colonial Bay, beyond the suburbs, on the edges of the county line, a small dirt path leads up into the hills to where a rusty sign points to a nursery called PEABODY Nursery. The fences and cars that are on the lot are all over grown by Kudzu vines. Everywhere, the building, the walls, are covered with thick green vines. In the spring, the vines are some purple flowers blossoming. The smell of this vine is everywhere.

Inside the nursery are large groves of potted trees. Funny they all seem to be overgrown with kudzu plants. How do people who buy these plants take them out? There are also green houses with flowers and other fruit plants but they too seem to be overgrown or partially overgrown with Kudzu plants. A bell at the counter waits for visitors. A sign says, "Ring for service"

After Skysabre and Regent take off to scout from the air, the others step out of Starguard.

Regent takes to the sky.."We'll keep in contact.." he says as he lifts off.

Crater shuffles along down the street. Timeliness can be a problem when one doesn't have a watch, really.

Yolanda waves. "Crater. There you are. We're on the trail of the plant. We're heading to a nursery in the suburbs."

Halcyon still doesn't yet make herself visible, though her proximity to Yolanda might be noticed.

Yolanda waves. "Crater. There you are. We're on the trail of the plant. We're heading to a nursery in the suburbs."

While the others find Crater, Skysabre and Regent quickly fly over to where the nursery is. The Sun has set and the previous evening's storm is no more. There are still dark clouds in the sky, but there is no rain. The wind blows strongly from the mountains to the west and there is a cold chill in the air.

Crater blinks and nods. "'kay. Crater follow?"

Yolanda says, "Hmm. How are we going to get out there? Does anyone have a car?"

Yolanda smiles slightly noticing Halcyon. She turns and nods in her direction.

Halcyon makes a shadow-crafted door appear. It has the words: 'Which way, and how far?'

Regent flies with skysabre, as they get to the nursury he remains high above the nursury looking for activity.

Yolanda says, "I have an address, in the western suburbs. Can you get us there? Matt and Skysabre are scouting ahead."

Lightray smiles slightly. "Can your door reach that far?"

The door's words change. 'Map?'

Yolanda pulls up the map on her PDA. She shows it to Halcyon.

Halcyon seems to still be invisible. Yolanda is pointing her PDA at an empty spot.

Lightray looks at Yolanda as that word comes up, then looks over to Crater. "Yes, please come wihth us Crater. That is, if you wish to do so. It could be dangrous as a larger version of that vampire cine could be there."

His vision adjusts to the night, the gift of Persephone lets him see in the darkness as if it were daylight, the gifts of Garuda's eagle eyes allow him to see everything with clarity, focusing in and out for movement, or better yet a large growth of the Kudzu vine."

Halcyon appears then, after consulting the map and judging distance. The door changes to what appears to be a button on a wall, and Halcyon offers her hand out to everyone.

Crater nods. "Mmkay." He pulls the PDA he was given before from a pocket. "...whose was this?"

Regent scans overhead but finds no sign of life at the nursery from where he is. There doesn't even seem to be any birds, dogs, cats, or rodents either.

Yolanda hmms. "Maybe it's Halcyon's?"

Lightray smiles. "Yes, it is. She gave it to you who handed it to Crater yesterday." He looks down at Halcyon's offered hand and touches her.

Regent frowns.."No signs of life..at all." he says then calls over the PDA. "Dr. Simmons! Suspicious..no signs of life, at all, but I have an idea..give me a moment."

Crater nods. He offers Halcyon back the PDA, then goes to take whatever hand he's supposed to take.

Yolanda lifts her PDA to answer in. "Hmm. It's Matt -- there are no signs of life at the nursery." She talks back to Regent is he's still listeneing. "How is the plant life there?"

Touching Halcyon has the interesting side-effect of turning the toucher utterly black as she is, and silenced. Sound no longer exists for Crater or Lightray. Halcyon watches Yolanda, expectant.

Lightray gestures to Yolanda in a beckoning manner.

Yolanda looks to Halcyon. "We'll wait for Matt and Skysabre to signal us before we head over there, ok? Do you still need directions?"

Words appear before Yolanda's vision: 'Would be better to be nearby when they call'.

Regent's hand grows cold..and then the air around his hand begins to draw in moisture freezing on contact with his hand, it continues to do this until it is wrapped in a jagged block of ice..he turns then to Skysabre, "Stay and watch out for me..I'm going in. Something only an organic can do at this point.." he flies down to about 150 feet above the nursury and stabs his arm with his iced fist. Blood begins to trail down his arm in a steady flow, it is not life threatening, but it is enough to start to drip from his arm. he begins to fly slowly around the nursury watching to see if there is any reation to the smell of blood in the air..

Yolanda nods. "Let's go, then."

Once Yolanda takes Halcyon's hand, the girl touches the illusion of the button on the wall, and everyone is moved to a much closer point to the nursury, disoriented for a moment.

With Regent's telescopic and night vision he can see some form of movement in the nursery as his blood drips down. It's not the while area that is alive with movement, but a small area in the back of the nursery, a place where his blood is able to drip past the cracks of an old green house. He reports this to Yolanda and SkySabre.

Yolanda shakes her head, trying to clear it. She mouths to Halcyon. 'How many more hops?'

Skysabre circles the greenhouse in is falcon mode, scanning the movement.

The movement is abrupt and then stops once it is consumed or dissapeared.

Skysabre switches its optics to x-ray as the movement occurs, trying to id the source.

As the heroes make it to the nursery they spot two birds up in the sky circling the facility. One looks like a falcon, and the other looks like its dripping bird poop.

Lightray stops touching Halcyon's hand and then nods to her. "Thank you."

Once released, sound exists for people again. Halcyon sits down, taking a minute to rest after the constant exertion.

"Confirm the presence of the kudzu vine." Skysabre states. "This is the correct place."

Yolanda offers Halcyon a pat on the shoulder. It takes her a moment to reorient herself afterwards.

Lightray looks at the others. "Deal with the deadly vines first or search the other buildings for potential clues?"

Skysabre swoops down towards the back of the greenhouse, landing on the glass roof and peering inside.

Yolanda says, "I would say the vines first, but I don't know what else is out there."

Crater blinks. He looks around. "Anyone got axe? Hedgeclippers?"

Lightray shakes his head. "I did not think about it, but no." He looks at the nursery from where you all stand. "I would guess there has to be something like that in there."

Skysabre lands on the roof of the old, broken green house. What it scans seems incredible perhaps, out of a story. The back wall of the facility is all kudzu plants, but what he sees is something else. Could it be a living person that is embedded in the ivy like plant? What appears to be a female person, but green, with kudzu sprouting out of her body is part of the kudzu wall. On the ground, live moving vines squirm around from time to time.

Suddenly, Skysabre's perch breaks because of the weight and a loud crash is heard from the outside by the others. Skysabre finds itself in a swarm of kudzu plants squirming around it. The thorns scratch at the metal. The lady in the wall of kudzu wakes and looks up.

Scylla(#1019TOn) A once attractive woman now with envious green skin and kudzu like vines sprouting from her back and abdomen. She has raven black hair and rags on her body.

Skysabre looks about a surprised as a bird can look as it falls through the ceiling. Using its gravitic manipulator the bird rights itself and shifts into its humanoid combat form, floating a few inches off the ground. Its optics are fixed on the female shape.

"Greetings." Skysabre greets Scylla. "I am Air Commander Skysabre. I am sorry for disturbing you, I overestimated the structural integrity of your roof. Please do not be alarmed as I mean you no harm."

The woman grunts but doesn't seem to do anything.

"Very well then." Skysabre replies. It tries to fly back up through the hole.

Skysabre is successful.

Regent flies down to where Skysabre has fallen, his arm still dripping blood...

Lightray looks over at the others. "I am going to go see what has happened." The wings of lights flex and he flies up into the air.

Skysabre rises out of the greenhouse, gesturing for Regent to stay back.

The dripping blood, causes an reaction. As Regent draws close a couple of vines lash out to grab hold!

Halcyon's own wings spread out, lifting and following Lightray.

One vine manages to grab hold of Regent.

Crater blinks. "Crater hear breaking glass." >.> He shrugs, then starts toward the greenhouse.

Once the kudzu plant grabs hold of Regent, it manages to keep hold and it starts sucking blood, its thorns piercing and its suction strong..

The woman in the wall of kudzu groans as she watches the events pass before her.

"Do you require assistance, Regent?" Skysabre asks. "I would fire on the creature but I do not wish to upset it. Can you generate a blade?"

Lightray continues to fly towards the greenhouse. The darkness of the night poses no problems for him it seems. As he flies, a field of sunlight forms around him.

Regent groans as the plant takes hold, but his eyes blaze and his hands are enveloped in flames.."Time to burn.." he attempts to grab the vine holding him.

Halcyon seems unsure about wanting to get too close to whatever is going to happen in there, staying back from the entry point Lightray is headed for.

Skysabre looks up at Lightray and Halcyon. "Stay back. We have made a discovery but it is interested in your blood."

Crater grumbles as he tries to go to the greenhouse. Why he doesn't just teleport is anyone's guess. But then, Crater's not exactly famous for his intelligence, now is he?

Yolanda chooses to stay back and wait for results to figure out.

The flames burn strong and the vine withers that is on his arm..."The source, we must stop the source!"

Skysabre holds up its hand. "There is a human woman, or what was a human woman, enmeshed in the vines. She is the source."

Regent nods.."All things must breath to live..if she is the will, then we must end it." he begins to move his hands in a circle and the air begins to heat..his hands still flames.

The woman, seems to be the source. She starts to groan louder. Those who can see in the dark or with light source can see that one of her vine like limbs is literally pushed out of her body like a baby out of a mother.. Dark purplish fluid drips from the hole that lis left behind. THe woman hangs her head again as she tries to breathe. The new sproutling falls to the ground with the other sproutlings..

"I do not believe that she does this of her own free will." Skysabre replies to Regent. "Our mission here is not to destroy her but to rescue her."

Lightray flies over the greenhouse to hover about ten feet above the hole that Skysabre made. As he looks down on the scene, he shakes his head. "That is..monstrous." He looks over at the others. "We need to destroy the vines then." He raiss a hand as he searches for a vine to target.

There are plenty of vines to target. There are more sproutlings about than you can count on both hands.

The air continues to heat and the firecrafting that Regent has created flies towards teh woman, the air around her burns up, and like a fire bomb, the atmosphere is robbed of oxygen as it burns away in the sphere...

"Your actions are lethal." Skysabre says to Regent. "Desist."

Regent's eyes still blaze, "Do not order me..I know my craft." he says, his voice not that of Matthew Regent.

The woman is immobile, imbedded into the kudzu wall that is part of the back of the building. Even if she sees the attack coming she does not and cannot avoid it. Her eyes bulge as the air is gone from her vicinity. She tries to breathe but can't choking, but no air to choke on. It is a horrid image.

Lightray raises a hand and then jabs with it at one of the vines. Sunlight flashes in the darkness o fhte night and strikes the vine as it wriggles across the floor.

A sproutling flies back from the blast of LIghtray and splatters to pieces. Others quickly move over to consume it, devouring its purplish blood like fluid.

Halcyon looks on in horror, immersing the room in utter silence and impenetrable darkness once Lightray's light disperses.

"You are torturing her." Skysabre informs Regent in a deadpan. "She is dying, and she is not our target. You are out of line."

Attacking the vine did not seem to affect the woman.

Halcyon flies in once she places this darkness, toward the woman.

Regent frowns..and nods slightly.."Perhaps..you are correct..my crafting should be non-lethal..but..something is not right here.." he raises a fist and says, "Gaia hold her!"

Lightray points his hand down at the mass of vine and brings down the sun again on another vine.

"It seems the products of this world already hold her." Skysabre observes. "She is as much a victim as the Councilman."

Words are at lost here as sight and sound are no longer in play!?

It seems impossible to target anything or hear words of reason.

Skysabre and regent are just outside of the darkness of sight and sound.

Lightray lowers his hand as the darkness saps his strength away. With an effort he slowly flies upwards.

Halcyon, who can sense everything in the room without sight, reaches the woman, touching her. She touches the woman's face gently, and takes a shot at extracting her, moving straight up about ten meters abruptly, ignoring little things like walls or ceilings.

Earth erupts from the ground in an effort to entrap the woman safely. "Keep her safe and sound Gaia. And may the greater gods forgive me for hurting this woman."

It seems that the woman is unable to be lifted out of thew all of kudzu. She is part of it.

"I suggest that we destroy the carnivorous products and summon Starguard to contain the site." Skysabre comments. "We will not make much headway otherwise."

Halcyon appears again above, frowning thoughtfully. Her dark-winged form heads for Skysabre and Regent. Words form: 'She's part of a huge mass and I can't move it through shadows in this world'.

Crater blinks. "Crater not able to see a thing," he comments. ... or rather, would comment, if not for darkness.

Regent nods, "I will contain the plantlife.." he starts to lift his hand to encrust whatever he can in earth...

Lightray flies out of the darkness. He appears to be swearing in some language.

Certain now that Regent won't do something drastic, Halcyon allows the darkness and silence to disperse in there.

[Speaking Akkadian] Lightray says, "i-Utu, protect me from children!"

"It is still too dangerous for organics to enter this area." Skysabre comments.

Yolanda continues to stay on the outside.

The woman seems to have fainted for a bit.

After time, the heroes seem to have all the sproutlings contained.

Lightray hovers well above the greenhouse until Regent has contained the sproutlings. He then descends until he is next to the young man. "Would you care for me to take care of that?" He gestures to the bleeding.

The ground continues to erupt as more and more of the sproutlings are swallowed whole in earthen fists.

Regent looks at lightray panting.."Take care of what?"

Skysabre pulls out its PDA and summons Starguard to the scene, explaining the presence important evidence and a possible extreme mutation.

SG informs Skysabre it will take them a while to bring their staff and equipment out to that location. But, they will respond.

Lightray looks down at Regent's arm where it is bleeding. "Your bleeding. And your fatigue."

Crater hms, peering in. "... Well. Crater see stuff taken care of in there? Crater just stay out of way." He finds a place to lounge somewhere while others take care of the problem.

Skysabre nods and shuts down the PDA. "Starguard is en route."

The woman wakes up again and glances around. She groans, in pain.

Regent looks at his bloody arm.."I would be thankful..but first..tend to the woman..it seems I may have caused her grevious injury..it wasn't my desire, but it seems it had that effect in any case."

Lightray nods and flies down through the hole to the woman. His tendril-like wings seem ignore physical objexts as he passes by them. He hovers in front of the woman and lays his sunlight suffused hands on her.

Halcyon seems to be on lookout for things that are skulking in darkness.

Sunlight flows from Lightray into the green tinted woman.

The woman takes a deep breath as her paleness seems to diminish. Her wounds seem to heal before your eyes. Her strength returns.

With the recovery, the woman seems to start sprouting out more sproutlings.. but not all the way, just slowly growing out of her.

Via PDA, Halcyon informs Skysabre of clues. A lot of hair strands in the area, similar to the clump from the night before but nonmoving.

Skysabre sends a message back to Halcyon asking her not to disturb anything until the forensics experts arrived.

Crater facepalms. "He healing thing that making killer vines?" he asks to nobody in particular.

Halcyon vanishes from the scene before the authorities arrive.

The woman doesn't seem to say anything. She just nods at the heroes. Perhaps a thanks.

Lightray looks at the woman and says, "Do you understand us now?"

The woman nods at Lightray.

Regent nods to the woman. "We are not at odds..are you freed from the madness that took you?"

The woman glances around, but seems too afraid to make an affirmative.

Lightray smiles at woman. "We are not going to harm you, ma'am. Starguard is coming and hopefully they can help you. Do you understand?"

Scylla nods at the question.

Regent looks around.."We are not alone. She fears something..retribution perhaps, for her cooperation."

Lightray continues to be polite and gentle in tone. "Where you always as you are now, attached to this wall and mute?"

Regent keeps his eyes peeled for threats..

The woman shakes her head at Lightway but seems to agree with Regent, but doesn't nod.

Regent says "Hair?"

The woman just stares straight ahead at the word 'hair'

Halcyon watches from an invisible vantage point, reading lips and body language. She creates words in front of the woman's eyes, seen only by her: 'look up if the hair can only hear words, look down if it can see too'

Lightray looks at the woman and says gently. "There is no reason to fear. We will protect you." After a moment he adds, "Do you fear Franklin Eagleton?"

Scylla looks straight ahead for now.

The words change, forming anew: 'Only you can see this'

Regent turns to look where Scylla is looking..

Scylla hangs her head.

Regent spots a reflection.. a reflection of light from a single strand of hair that slowly loops down.. around Scylla's neck...

from fire to light, Regent fires off a beam to hit the hair that entangles the womans neck, a shot above her head to cut the strand. "Beware! The hair!"

Focused as she is on creating the tiny illusions for Scylla, Halcyon does not notice what is happening until Regent acts. Then she blinks, and changes the illusion: Dark arrows point at every strand of hair she can find in the room.

The laser like light cuts through the strand and it burns quickly..

Strands of hair lying around become apparent with Halcyon's help. Most are lifeless, but some on the wall are mobile it seems..

Lightray targets the ones on the wall with his sun beam.

The woman seems a bit relieves as the heroes save her. The strands are all taken out.

Regent keeps wary but says to the woman.."We have those that may speak to you with their minds..will you come with us..help us?"

The woman sighs. She can't move.

Halcyon continues being unseen, helping the others spot strands of hair and doing nothing else. Words replace the illusionary arrows though. 'Can you speak?'

Lightray looks back to the woman as the smell of fried hair adds to the greenhouse's ambiance. "Do you know who did this to you?"

The woman seems confused with Hal's question.

The woman nods to Lightray.

Lightraylooks at Scylla for a moment, then asks, "Was it Franklin Eagleton?"

The woman seems confused and shakes her head and nods it.

Regent looks around the woman..looking to see if she is rooted..

The words ripple, changing: 'Do you understand these words?'

Lightray nods and then asks gently, "Do you control over the vines that sprout from you?"

Scylla nods to the words, probably add to the confusion in answering Lightray's question.

Lightray sighs. "Did you kill Franklin Eagleton?"

Crater hums quietly, looking around the area, for lack of anything better to do.

The woman seems frightened and confused when the words kill Franklin Eagleton are heard. She shakes her head frantically and starts to weep.

The words form a large smiley, then it changes over to a symathetic frown.

Lightray reaches out and touches the woman on the sholder. "It is alright, ma'am. I had to ask as you indicated you control the vines. Shh, shh, you are going to be fine." His tone is quiet and soothing.

Regent says in tones soft and subtle, "The one who controls the hair killed the councilman. This woman was trying to save him?"

The woman seems very very confused when she hears the words hair killed the councilman. She tries to speak... but she hasn't used words in such a long time.. Just sounds come out, like someone in mental anguish.

Regent looks at the woman, "You do not control these vines..you are a part of them, they..are like defense mechanisms..they react to blood, they will attack anything that they can consume...except for you."

The woman nods sadly at regent.

Ayesha is about to teleport away.

Halcyon forms different words: 'Do you know who is responsible for the hair?'

The woman nods a little and then shakes her head. Probably not really, but maybe a little?

Regent nods.."The councilman was funding research to free you wasn't he?"

Halcyon changes them. 'Do you know a probable name?' Below this, the alphabet forms, with a square to hilight each letter, moving one at a time. Halcyon has her ways...

Scylla seems a bit confused.. Maybe free isn't so much the word, but funding something seems to be right.

Lightray reaches out and cups his hands gently around her throat. "I do not know if I can help, but let me try."

The woman tries to concentrate for hal.. she gets two letters. K I.

Crater looks over at the others. "Things done now?"

Regent turns to crater.."dude..I'll wait here for starguard..and I'll wait here with the woman..things are settled for now. We have a villianess to catch..a murderer.

Halcyon's messages are nowhere to be seen soon enough. The telltale presence when one is close enough to her has gone.
