Lotus is a posh Colonial Bay night spot that serves as a restaurant for Asian-inspired cuising during the daytimes. During the night however, it's transformed. The main dining floor serves as dance floor now, with a DJ booth elevated above the floor and the far end of the hall. Loud, thumping music and colored lights that sweep across the room set the atmosphere. The VIP section is on the second floor in area the overlooks the dancefloor. That is where Captain Jack can be found.

Ashton groans at the loud sound. Stupid sensitive ears. Why can't the music in clubs ever be at a reasonable level?

The heroes are admitted to the club -- Lorelei and Ashton have the proper look.

Lorelei comments to Ashton, "That was too easy - I was expecting to have to be my usual charming self, anyway."

Lorelei looks to see if there's a part of the second floor one can be without being a VIP, or at least somewhere down here where she can be seen from the VIP area.

Jackie stays quiet and small inside Lorelei's handbag.

Ashton shrugs at Lorelei, replying quietly, "It's a night club, not Fort Knox."

A large bouncer waits at the base of the stairs leading up to the VIP section, the final obstacle between the heroes and the Captain.

Lorelei says, "Hm, now there's a thought I wonder how hard it would be to get in there...."

Ashton says to Lorelei, "Probably won't be that hard for you."

One of the party-goers in the upstairs section notices Lorelei and begins to stare.

Lorelei does her best to interest him the more - the low-cut dress helps at this angle!

Lorelei says, "I think there's someone up among the lights and catwalks.... Wasp, want to check it out?"

Lorelei, with so many people looking at her cleavage, has no trouble opening her bag behind her back.

The man grins and elbows his buddy. He backs away from the railing and disappears from sight. When he reappears, he's downstairs, talking to the bouncer. He points out towards Lorelei as he says something into the bouncer's ear.

Jackie released from the handbag a small Jackie conceals herself and starts working up into the ceiling area without using her wings so she isn't making the characteristic buzzing associated with Wasp.

Lorelei "happens" to go in the direction of the stairs, to avoid making this too complicated - without it seeming like this was the plan all along.

Jackie moves through a forest of legs to a clear spot by a wall and *leaps* into the supporting beams of the ceiling, balancing on top in the shadows.

The man by the bouncer beckons for Lorelei to come over. He waits there behind the bouncer. "I'm Steve," he says, shouting of the music when she's close enough.

Lorelei acts surprised, but not unpleasantly so. "Hi Steve, I'm Amanda!" she shouts back with a smile.

Ashton continues following Lorelei, trying to blend in as much as possible.

An enthusiastic party-girl dances into Ashton by accident. No one is hurt, but she manages to hit Ashton's bracelet in just the right manner to set it to 'dinosaur'.

The party girls shrieks, standing back as Ashton's appearance begins to change.

Ashton blinks, that doesn't happen often. He tries to get the bracelet working again before the people in the club notice too much and cover is blown.

In the VIP section, Captain Jack rises to his feet, he moves to the ledge to see what's happened.

Jackie changes to Wasp persona

Lorelei, hearing the shriek feigns shock and fright as well, the better to distance herself from Ashton - and maybe bring Steve to her "rescue".

Ashton sets the bracelet back to normal, hopefully too many people haven't noticed... he tries acting normal again.

Steve managed to rush to the rescue, catching Amanda before she falls to the ground. The faint draws the attention of the bouncer as well. He frowns... probably another kid who's had too much to drink.

Wasp takes off and flies into the rear of the person in the ceiling aiming to knock his off balance, prevent him shooting and cause him to tumble to the dance floor.

Wasp changes her mind, not quite sure the person can withstand her full attack. Bringing herself to a halt she fans her secondary wings to create a howling gale force wind that blasts at the guy lining up to fire.

Wasp is pleased to see it actually works. It's the first time she's tried this. The sniper is picked up by the blast of wind and hurled from the beam he was standing on.

A man in black costume with white trimming, white gloves and boots. He wears an odd helmet, like a fishbowl only opaque and white.

Ashton blinks, watching the guy fall from the rafters, wondering who he is, and not sure what to do.

Strobe's helmet begins to pulse with light, flashing about once per second. It gives everything around him the appears of moving in slow motion, except for strobe himself. He twists nimbly in the air and fires a blast of white light at the Wasp.

The burst of white light misses Wasp by a wide margin. It shines harmlessly on the ceiling.

Lorelei hopes her overacting drew at least some of the attention that Ashton might otherwise have had. She "recovers" momentarily, and gives Steve a sheepish grin. "Uh, hey!" And then she gives her rescuer an admiring look: staying under cover as Wasp advised.

Steve's only got eyes for Lorelei at the moment. "Are you alright? Can you stand..?" In the area around Ashton, anyone who might have been watching him has been distracted by Lorelei, but most by the fight taking place over the dance floor.

Lorelei says, "Uh-huh - I think - but let's get away from that whatever-it-was!"

Captain Jack runs for the far end of the second floor area, surrounded by four of his men. Two of his men brandish submachine guns. They take aim and watch for Strobe to hit the ground.

Lorelei thinks . o O (Come on Steve, get me upstairs!)

The bouncer is on his radio shouting for the other bouncers to call the police.

Steve carries Lorelei up the stairs to the VIP.

Strobe falls on top of a couple of people on the dance floor. He manage to tumble away from the crash into a crouching, fighting stance.

Two of Captain Jack's men open fire on Strobe.

Braapt! Braapt! Automatic gun fire rings out. They miss their target, but thankfully they fire with professional weapon control. There are no collateral hits... yet.

Wasp flies down and around striking at the machine gunners as she passes by them and then at Strobe.

Wasp smacks into the two gunners knocking one of his feet but misses Strobe.

Kibin thinks that for some reason, there are indeed two teams of badguys... or something. Ah well, he decides to get in the action, trying to hit Strobe with a spinning thwack of his tail after shifting back into his dino form.

Strobe opens his palm towards Kibin's face and it begins to emit light is a series of a rapid, brilliant flashes.

Again, Strobe missed, but the light seems to miss harmlessly.

Upstairs, Jack and his men are that the opposite side of the VIP area about 8" away. Jack is faced towards the wall and he's surrounded by his men. Some of the bodyguards are looking back in Lorelei direction.

Lorelei had hoped she'd be in a position to affect Jack, but no such luck. And making people already firing guns stupid is usually a bad idea. So instead she picks a bodyguard looking her way who looks likely to fire a gun and wiggles in Steve's arms enough to make sure his attention is fixed on her.

Lorelei, for the moment at least, has the guy's attention to the point he doesn't even notice anything else!

Jack pops a pill into his mouth, so do three of the four body guards around him.

Lorelei thinks . o O (I wonder if those pills work on metas. Or half-fae, or whatever it is I am.)

Meanwhile one of the gunmen aims at the Wasp while his partner stands up.

The body guards shots go wide. There's a scream and a man drops to the ground, clutching his leg.

Wasp swings around in the air to strike at the machine gunners again and this time although ending up close to Strobe she doesn't attack him. In fact she speaks to him, "If I'm getting the right impression from you and you'll settle for justice without insisting on revenge we could work together to take down Captain Jack and his thugs?"

Wasp misses the gunmen.

Kibin hmmms, and goes attack the machine gunners instead. He uses some rapid fire slashes at the chest this time, maybe they won't be as strong.

Strobe looks at the Wasp. He raises his hand, and shines a flashing light at the other gunman who's been shooting.

Kibin unleashes a blur of claws on one of the guys with a machine gun, sending him flying back and toppling over a table.

The other gunman who's been shooting looks into the seemingly harmless lights. Suddenly, his body becomes wracked with fits. He collapses in a twitchng heap on the ground until he passes out.

Wasp holds ready to act but wants to give Lorelei a chance to neutralize the remaining bodyguards. Turning to Strobe she asks, "You're a victim of the pills he's been selling?"

Kibin just holds there, using this time to recover. He watches to see what sort of powers those guards are going to get, and how to defend against them.

Strobe turns to face towards Wasp. "Not exactly. I don't get paid until I take him out..." There's some dry humor in his voice. He raises his hand, and points it towards Kibin, about to unleash a blast of light.

Wasp shouts, "Look out Kibin." and shakes her head at Strobe, "Not going to happen."

Wasp finishes her shout of warning and twists in the air with wings buzzing to kick up under Strobe's fishbowl.

Wasp connects with Strobe and sends him off the floor in a loop over heads.

Lorelei decides since Jack still isn't available, and since it worked on the first bodyguard, she might as well try it on another.//Mental Illusion on next guy in line. :)

The man, unfortunately, seems to be paying too much attention to the fight.

Captain Jack leans against the rear wall of the VIP section, until he seems to pass right through it, like a ghost.

Lorelei thinks . o O (Damn.)

The other bodyguard seem to have powers manifesting before your eyes. One of the men seems to inflate suddenly, violently enough to tear his clothing. He starts to float towards the ceiling, after dropping his gun; pressurized fingers seem unable to curl far enough to hold his gun.

A second bodyguard changes, his skin darkening until its deep gray and has a metallic lustre to it. He looks at himself and chuckles with voice thar resonates with a brassy quality to it.

The third remaining bodyguard looks at himself. And waits, and waits. Nothing seems to change about him.

The nightclub begins to empty as people flee the scene as quickly as possible through every available exit.

Kibin hmmms. Goes to take care of more of the bodyguards, running up to the metallic guy, spinning his tail and attempting to hit him.

Kibin succeeds, denting the man. And learning that it hurts a lot to hit metal... ow.

Wasp flies over to where Strobe landed, "Like I said, never going to.." *thud* "..happen."

Wasp makes a solid thud as she hits, shame it's a decorative plant and not Strobe that her feet impact against.

Kibin takes a recovery.

Strobe says, "You're making a big mistake, Wasp. You should have let me take care of him." He fires a blast of blinding white light at Wasp.

Steve starts to head down the stairs for the exit. "Don't worry, Amanda, I'll get you out of here..."

Lorelei says, "No wait, we'll get trampled down there!" while making a rather different stunning pose than normal in the direction of the metal guy, whom she judges the most dangerous.

One gunman float, pinned against the ceiling of the VIP section. His friend shoots at Kibin.

...and misses.

The metal guy has hardly recovered from being hit by Kibin when he spots Lorelei and stand staring at her.

...and misses.

Kibin gives a slight smirk at the metal guy being distracted by Lorelei, and goes to take care of the guy left with the gun. He goes towards the guy and gives three quick claw swipes at the chest, hoping for it to be as effective as last time.

Krang! Kithong! Kang! Kibin succeeds in knocking him down, but not doing much real damage.

Kibin gets three hits in on the guy shooting at him, but he's still standing for now.

Wasp flies back over to where Strobe landed, "This will go a lot quicker if you stop trying of avoid my hitting you." she tells him.

Wasp flies over to where her hearing can pick up the sound of someone in pain from a bullet wound. She may be blinded but treating injuries in as much a matter of feel and muscle memory as it is of vision.

Strobe starts to run outside.

Kibin spins around to finish off the gun guy with a pulled tail thwack.

Kibin manages to drop the guy, now all that's left is the occupied metal guy, and that... weird.... lighty guy.

Kibin takes a breather, now that all targets seem indisposed at the moment.

Lorelei decides she'd best put the metal guy down, and shifts to a new stunning pose, while at the same time talking into her Spirit of Justice communicator.

The metal guy falls over with a clang.

Kibin pants, tires from the battle. "Well... .that was fun. Though we didn't catch that guy..."
