Log:Death of Laura Garrity Part I

Participants: Random Factor, Fire, Shoro, Valencia, Silver Spider, Amber and Azure, Silver Spider, cameo by David.

"we're about 2 blocks from the Oyabuns house making plans. Jessica and RF will be cutting an invisible path towards a HUGE cannon placed on the roof of the Oyabun's house, there are 6 sentries places on roof tops around the Oyabun's brownstone, there are 3 hover cars, black with heavy tint, 2 bodyguards with each car, and 2 more body guards standing at the door way to the oyabun's brownstone. Everyone is antsy and somethings going down."

Fire waves to SS, then says to the others, "We all will be watching each others backs tonight. Its going to be an odd and highly volatile situation, but I have confidence in all present, if that means anything."

Random Factor smiles and nods to Silver, glad she made it. Not that he really thought she WOULDN'T.

Silver Spider flicks her gaze around. "Uhh...this is what you guys came up with?" She says. "You know...now might not be the best time to interrupt them. They're having some sort of leadership meeting. Usually that means that either one person screwed up, and is cutting off some body parts, or someone is getting promoted."

Yu, after catching Silver up, and showing her the holovid, says, Silver, since you've visited before, you're with us, Val, Fire(who by the way is incognito) and I will walk up the front steps. I need you there to let them know why we're here."

Valencia rolls her eyes at Jennifer but doesn't respond to her. Instead she looks up at SS. "You watch too many movies. Lopping off limbs?"

Silver Spider turns to Valencia. "You really aren't too familiar with the Yakuza discipline system, are you? For small offenses, it's one knuckle. For a really big one, you could be missing a couple of fingers.

Yutaka looks around, "Jen, I appreciate it." he nods to Silver, "True enough Silver..nows the time. Lets do this."

Fire cracks his knuckles and then spreads his fingers out on his right hand, looking at them for a second.

Silver Spider turns to Yutaka. "Why are we making such a big show of strength?" She says. "There's no reason to attack or destroy anything if we've come to parley. They know we can blow up the whole place anytime we want."

Silver Spider swings back and forth idly from her lamppost. "Plus, if I were the Yakuza, I'd keep this much on retainer knowing we lived here anyway." Yutaka shakes his head, "We are going to talk. Fire is incognito to show that we're not showing up without presence, Its all about face Silver, and why everyone, because if it goes bad, we're in trouble without it."

Valencia makes a face at Silver's description of Yakuza discipline. "We're not trying to provoke them...It's just precaution."

Silver Spider turns to the others. "Okay. Let's go. Don't attack the gun on the roof unless there's actually gunfire."

Silver Spider turns to Yutaka. "Let's walk politely, shall we?" She extends her arm a little jauntily, like an English lady who's had too much tea and not enough education.

Yutaka looks around, "The nights not getting any younger, lets go..everyone clear? Good." Yu starts to walk towards the brownstone.

Yutaka nods with a wink towards Silver, "Of course." and he offers his arm to her.

Jennifer says, "Oh, Silver, there's something you know to know about me. When the trouble starts I'll be using some equipment you might recognize. Don't jump to conclusions, okay, I'm on your side."

Random Factor grits his teeth and mutters. "Clear as mud."

Silver Spider flips down off the lamppost, realizing just how stupid she looks, and takes Yutaka's arm. "This gets me out of that stupid "Come naked" gag. What a dirty old bastard, to think that he could get me to sleep with him for any reason. Sleeping with evil only leads to evil stuff." She turns to Jennifer. "That's fine..." She says.

Silver Spider makes her way down the block with Yutaka, cheerfully grinning like an idiot under the mask. o O (They must all think I'm a complete dumba**. I love this job.)

Valencia moves to follow Yutaka and Silver Spider, staying on Silver's side but slightly behind.

Yutaka nods to RF, "I trust you with my life man."

Fire shakes his head and then looks toward Val and heads off, keeping to the left and slightly behind of Yutaka, as a bodyguard should. He says into his radio to RF and the twins if they can hear, "Good luck you all, see you later on."

Jennifer casts an admiring glance after Silver as she heads off with Yutaka and Val. "I feel better about this now she's here." She mutters quietly.

Silver Spider turns to Yutaka. "You know, investing in a really good radio would be smart. Too bad I can't afford a radio."

The 4 start walking towards the brownstone and as they get about a block away, two of the rooftop sentries see the 4some and get on radios, Activity starts up and the large Cannon begins to turn in their direction, the body guards also put hands in their jackets to pull weapons, and spread out a little, keeping an eye on the other body guards as well as the street.

Jessica uses the distraction to make her final approach to the cannon.

Silver Spider waves cheerfully to the rooftop goons. "Konban-Waaaaaaaaa!" She calls out as she makes her way up the street, admiring the nasty looking barrel of the cannon as she makes her way up towards the gate. She maintains a cheerful appearance with body language towards the guards. "You won't be needing those. I have brought a gift of tea, since I don't approve of coming naked, and tea is much more polite than nakedness."

Yutaka and the others make it within sight of the brownstone and suddenly tension fills the air, all eyes on the four and the feeling that guns are trained on them is probrably not unfounded. Fire keeps his hands free of any pockets and in plain sight to show he has no weapons in them. Or so it would seem.

Yutaka looks at Silver..and groans inwardly..(Gaijin..) he says to himself.

Valencia blinks at Silver Spider, clearly taken aback by her forwardness but she keeps marching forward with her gaze straight ahead.

Yutaka stops short..putting his hands in the air slowly..In Japanese, "We are unarmed, we come to meet with the Oyabun...He may be expecting us."

Silver Spider puts her hand in the air also once she reaches the gate. "Forgive my impoliteness gentlemen. I was merely admiring the barrel of your extremely large gun."

Fire glances at SS, barely keeping himself from chuckling at her statements. o O (Well at least she has a way of keeping the mood light, at least for herself.)

The Bodyguards pull guns now. All of them. There are 18 guns trained on the 4some, along with a 52gigahertz Ion Cannon..

Jessica is heading for the cannon by the sneakiest route she can find.

Fire keeps his hands out of his pockets and in plain sight, making no sudden movements at the moment, just staying with Yutaka as his role suggests.

Random Factor is making his way invisibly to the gard post on the opposite side of the street from the bodyguards.

Yutaka motions to Fire, "This is my bodyguard, If allowed to join the prestigious and honorable presence of the Oyabun, he will remain with you. These two ladies will join me..as allowed."

Jennifer approaches closer but makes sure she remains out of sight of the guards, using cover instead of depending only on stealth, will to accept haiving more distance to cover if trouble starts rather than risk any detection.

Fire bows his head to the other bodyguards, somewhat like he has seen in the movies, but as he has no real knowledge of any Asian cultures, its the best he can do.

Valencia looks around at the guards and their guns, trying to keep track of them so she doesn't bow or make any other sign.

The guards seem to be listening to something as the door to the brownstone opens up. The obsequious little japanese man from the last visit comes out. "Ah..Silver Spider..you do not come naked?..the Oyabun will be less than pleased." he smiles, "And you bring friends this time?"

Silver Spider turns to the Japanese man and smiles. "It was easier, I fear, than constantly repeating the same information over and over again, which creates unnecessary chaos, which, I am certain, the Oyabun despises." She says cheerily, bowing gracefully, and much lower than she should. "I am certain that they will be well behaved."

Silver Spider thinks . o O (I wouldn't be surprised if this guy is the Oyabun himself, secretly showing respect and having his minions do most of the talking.)

Yutaka looks at Silver not saying anything.

The man waves the 3some in, "Come in, your Bodyguard will need to remain outside...He will be safe, even if he is Gaijin."

Valencia glances at Fire, giving him a sympathetic look.

Fire smirks slightly, then nods to Yutaka, Val and SS. Thinking to himself. o O (Safe, hmmpf.)

Silver Spider nods to the men. "We thank you for your generosity.' She says seriously. "Rest assured, we have no desire to involve ourselves in your politics, nor can we attempt to bring any of you to justice in this matter, as we don't believe that the matter we're investigating caused you to actually commit any crimes in the United States of America. Therefore, I have brought this gift of tea to show you that I am dealing in good faith."

Yutaka would facepalm..(God so direct..so damn direct...)

The man nods "Yes yes..come in.." though he mutters, "It would be better if you were naked.."

Fire stands quietly outside the brownstone as the other bodyguards do, he keeps an eye out for anything that might suggest trouble.

Silver Spider smiles pleasantly. "Of course..." She says. "I will keep that in mind." She follows politely behind the man, taking a moment at the appropriate stop to take off her shoes. "Thank you for having us." She says congenially. "It is an honor for allowing us to visit at so precarious a time."

Yutaka stops before entering, he bows deeply and allows Val to enter first.

Valencia shakes her head at Yutaka and whispers to him: "You should stay in the middle." She sounds convinced of this and waits for Yutaka to head in.

Jennifer whispers quietly from behind one of the snipers, for his ears only, "Good evening. Nice night for a hit. But as a personal favour to me, wait until we have finished our business, please."

Yutaka nods and enters behind Silver. Once all of them are in, the door closes behind them, a sound of finality rings.

Silver Spider makes her way inside, keeping an eye on the same hallway as before, moving slowly down the hallway. o O (Probably a laser grid in this hallway when they're really serious...god, I love the Yakuza. Protected against every conventional means of entry except super strength smash a hole in the roof. Good job, guys...)

The Sniper turns suddenly high powered laser rifle with flashguard in hand, his features definitely asian, he says softly "Nanda?!" trying to aim his gun at Jess. (For Jess Combat rounds, Jess First)

Fire listens to his radio, his eyes drift up toward the rooftops slightly, too late to get the others attention and too close to the bodyguards to speak he just watches for any signs of trouble.

Valencia follows after Yutaka, looking around somewhat nervously but keeping her composure. She tries to focus on the asian man at the head of the group.

Jennifer shakes her head and attempts to remove the rifle from his hands, "Easy does it, mate. I could care less about you making a hit. Just don't want it interfering with us.".

The man takes the trio down a hall and instead of going into the previous room, he leads you into another room austere and empty. A solid wooden door is the only exit other than the one they just walked in. "Slippers please." the man says offering 3 sets and walks out of the room.

Jennifer pulls the rifle out of the sniper's hands and draws it back to herself.

The sniper blinks as the gun is taken from him. He says in broken english, "Are you with the aogumi??"

Silver Spider takes a set of slippers and flicks them onto her feet. "You know, the best investment I ever made was these tube socks...." She says. "God, I can't believe they say "Feet of action.." on the side..." She settles down into a kneeling position on the close side of the table.

Granite moves his bigger frame from a distance that is a bit away from the scene til he can see a chance to jump to action after getting the call from Random to run backup if needed. Tapping in his earpiece "In place chief ready when you are."

Yutaka continues to simply shake his head slipping into the slippers himself after removing his shoes.

Silver Spider thinks . o O (Wow. He really has no fear of DNA scanning, cloning, or any of the other stuff that usually happens to super people like us. He should be more careful.)

Jennifer grins, "No. We're here on personal business picking up information. Can't do that from a dead guy so you can wait until we are finished." She puts the safety on the rifle and tosses it back to the sniper.

Valencia remains silent, slipping off her own black slippers and sliding into the ones the Yakuza provides, just to be polite. Otherwise she would be barefoot. She kneels at the table with the others.

The sniper looks angry.."You do not understand..If you are not an enemy..then give me back the weapon."

The solid wooden door opens and 3 men come out, one is old..in his 70s or more, the other is in his 50s and the Oyabun Silver knows is in his early 40s, clearly the most junior of them all."

Silver Spider nods to the gentlemen and says nothing, waiting for them to speak. She remains patient, with her hands folded, looking up and meeting their gaze in order of age. Her jovial demeanor is suddenly and noticably absent.

The sniper doesn't sit up or expose himself any more, but nods.."We shall deal with our situation without interfering with your situation."

Jennifer bows slightly in the fashion we saw on her trip to Japan, "Thank you."

Valencia tracks the old men with her eyes until they are seated, not moving a muscle otherwise.

The youngest says to the trio, "Ah..Silver Spider,..Yamaoka-san, and you must be Hampton-san. Rumored to be the new girlfriend of Yamaoka-san..but this is untrue isn't it?"

Fire continues watching the rooftops, trying to keep it as unnoticeable as possible. He stays quiet as he stands out with the bodyguards, waiting for his friends to emerge safely from the meeting.

Valencia nods slowly to the Oyabun. "Yes. It's untrue." She says calmly, fidgeting underneath the table.

The Oyabun nods with an amused smile, "Yes Yamaoka-san, we've been keeping an eye on you. But let me introduce you to these two esteemed men." he points to the eldest, "This is Oyabun Ueda, He is the most senior of Oyabun in the United States. You should be honored to meet him."

Yutaka 's eyes widen at that name. Bowing deeply he says in tones of reverence, "Ueda-sama."

Silver Spider nods as she is greeted, waiting for Valencia to finish, and switches to Japanese. "Oyabun Ueda, it is a pleasure to meet you. I have brought tea for us to share, in the hope of having a discussion with all of you. The presence of all of you is welcome, though I will admit, unexpected. I fear I lack the knowledge of your proper preparation methods." She gives a deep kneeling bow.

Valencia looks to the elder Oyabun and takes a page from Silver's book, trying to imitate her bow as much as possible.

Jennifer gossips to the sniper as she waits, "Nice rifle. Have you considered the new Mitsuma NY-212 nightsight for it? You'll get 20-30% increased light amplification and less ambient noise. Cities are messed up places for thermal sights."

The sniper frowns remaining silent..wishing the Gaijin would stop making him feel stupid.

The sniper says something soft into his radio piece...

The Oyabun raises an eyebrow to the younger one, and says in perfect english, "Did this one just speak to me Kataoka?..is this the trash the akagumi allows in its halls?"

Kataoka flushes in embarassment, "I shall teach her her place..Ueda Sama." he turns to Silver, "Do NOT Speak to Ueda-sama, you are but a flea under his feet...now apologize!"

Yutaka frowns but keeps his head almost touching the floor and in perfect japanese says, "Ueda-sama, I apologize for the actions of Silver Spider, she does not know the ways of the Yakuza, she is Gaijin, forgive her her tresspasses."

Silver Spider raises an eyeslit. "Please ask Ueda-Sama to forgive my rudeness. As I am only a lowly gaijin who is not fit to lick the boots of his lowliest dog." Her eyes flick to Katoaka, her other eyeslit narrowed. Up until this moment, she had absolutely no idea anything was wrong here. Things are starting to look very bad. Silver Spider thinks . o O (This is a test.) Silver Spider thinks . o O (He wanted to assert his own power and humiliate Katoaka. It didn't matter which of them I addressed first. He would have found a way.)

Fire turns away from the other bodyguards outside, apparently admiring the night sky and the stars. He speaks softly into his radio...

Kataoka hopes this is enough and Ueda seems aloof, not addressing or answering the requests for forgiveness. he then adds, "This is Shigehara-Oyabun, Oyabun of the west coast, we meet on a certain matter that may interest you." he defers to Ueda, who simply nods.

Valencia can't understand Japanese and so is left looking somewhat clueless.

One of the bodyguards looks at Fire and says, "You are no bodyguard."

Granite looks around from his hiding spot and sighs, everyone gets all the fun things and I get stuck doing the backup thing again. Then grins turns to concern when he raises a eyebrow to the talking going on.

Fire turns back around, "Now what would make you say that? I have guarded more bodies than I could ever hope to keep track of." He keeps his hands out of his pockets still, showing no sign of weaponry.

The other bodyguards look at Fire, eyeing him up, "What is he then Hara?"

Hara replies, "He is a dog, a white dog watching the back of a skin traitor."

Silver Spider nods to Kataoka, nodding slowly. "I am interested. And I have something that may interest you, and prove useful to explaining things about the nature of your meeting..." She pauses. "If you would allow me the privelage of speaking to both of you, this might be easier, as there's a lot of scientific data which needs to be simplified and condensed, and it uses particular language."

The BFG is still trained on the street, but its not moved since its initial training.

Ueda asks Kataoka again, not addressing Silver, "Did she just speak again?" and with both power and speed that would belie the age of the man, a backhand hits Kataoka across the cheek sending him to one knee. "Teach your bitch better."

Fire smirks, "Call me what you will, I get paid very well to guard the skin traitor, as you say, I am white, so what do I care of his treachery."

Yutaka winces..(This is less than good.)

Silver Spider raises an eyebrow. o O (This is excellent. Ueda just made a mistake.)

Valencia blinks in alarm as one of the older men is struck. She fidgets, squirming a bit to get comfortable.

Jessica tries the subtle approach first, attempting to disarm the cannon without breaking the remote link and thus prompting someone to come take a look.

Silver Spider turns to Valencia. "Stop squirming..." She says. "I know you're made of rubber, but all three of these men have taken tougher hits from little girls."

Kataoka remains on one knee, "Yes Oyabun, I will." he turns to Silver Spider, "Remain quiet until spoke to." his tone is tough, but it can be gathered that it is that way because of face, and not necessarily because he wants to.

The large cannon seems to sag once its connection is broken.

Silver Spider nods once. "Of course." She says cooly, nodding once.

Ueda begins walking out the door. "There is no reason for me to be here, Handle this Kataoka." Ueda and Shigehara begin to walk out the room and back down the hall Silver the others just came from.

Jennifer phones Yutaka.

Yutaka keeps his head low, until the 2 are out of the room. His PDA starts to go off, but he is unable or unwilling to answer it at this time..

The Sniper says, "Time is up," he looks at Jessica, "You do not interfere with my mission I do not interfere with your mission...My mission is about to begin."

They 2 Oyabun cross the threshold of the foyer and the door closes behind them. Yu Immediately raises and looks at Kataoka for a hard long moment. "Forgive us, you have lost face here because of us."

Jessica sighs, "This is most inconvenient. Make it a clean hit and get out. Don't let this degenerate into a messy little firefight. My principals are still in there."

The sniper gets into position, you can only assume that the others are getting into position as well.

Fire having not gotten an answer to his radio call to RF, keeps an eye toward the rooftops once more, now that he has seemingly silenced the other bodyguards.

Silver Spider raises an eyebrow. "I too, apologize for my actions. I did not realize that addressing the most important man in the room was a mistake." o O (Kataoka took that slap way too willingly. Something's going on here...)

Jennifer switches from her SGG comms to her own radio.

Valencia settles a bit, breathing a quiet sigh of relief as the two other men leave the room. She focuses on the remaining Oyabun, visibly more comfortable.

Kataoka shakes his head, "Do not worry, it is the way of our world." he says lightly, "You are not naked, and neither is she, and you brought him, I take it you truly do have business then?...What do you have to say?"

Fire listens to his radio, then tenses up slightly, looking from the rooftops to the entrance nearby. Trying his best to spot anything that might resemble a threat.

Ueda and Shigehara begin for the exit as the obsequious old man opens the door..

Fire looks to the other guards, "I know I am a white dog..." He says into his radio, "I can't do that." Then says to the other guards, "Get your charges to safety, there are snipers nearby. Trust me, move now!"

Silver Spider nods. "The sample that you gave me was afflicted with a deadly disease. I need to ask you some questions about when you obtained the sample. Did you obtain it prior to Laura's last visit to Japan? Assuming the answer is yes, she was afflicted with a disease that was killing her, a disease that you had no way of knowing about." She says seriously. "So, assuming that you had no way of knowing about this disease, and that you merely got the sample from Shigehara, as Ueda had nothing to do with this, and he said so, how did Kai Soma produce a healthy body of Laura Garrity in only three weeks time, knowing that curing this takes far longer, and it took me about three weeks just to stop a genetically engineered drug plague?"

Granite looks around from his place pondering what is around and why everyone went quiet all of sudden from his position can barely tell if anything at this moment.

One of the bodyguards raises an eyebrow, but then a soft beam of light hits the bodyguard's raise eyebrow and the hair is burned off, at first it is impossible to figure out what is going, on, but his mouth starts to froth and his nose begins to bleed as do his ears and he falls down dead at Fire's feet. Suddenly there is action and movement as the two Oyabun cross the threshhold.

Distant sounds of confusion can be heard as the door to the outside can vaguely be heard closing, and Kataoka says, "The sample?..What sample?..Oh do you mean my gift of affection to you?"

As the bodyguard goes down in a heap, the Oyabun's having been in this business break for the cars, as they break for it, their body guards break with them. It seems the dead one was Ueda's guard, as there is only one left following him.

Silver Spider smiles. "Yes. That." She says cooly. "You should know that David's blood had infected Laura Garrity and that she was dying. You should also know that quite by accident, I discovered the cure for the affliction. However, it was totally impossible for Kai Soma to know that it existed, because at no point during this entire altercation did he have access to Yutaka. If he did, he would have to be in league with Neo-Sung, wouldn't he?"

The second bodyguard of Ueda goes down, his brain fried as well.

Kataoka seems genuinely perplexed..."She was dying?..I didn't know that." he crosses the room and opens the door he drags a woman, tall, healthy looking back towards the group inside, her face is hidden, behind her long brown hair...but Yu recognizes the form instantly..

Fire notices the gunfire, or laser shots and the guards on the Ueda dropping like flies, in a last ditch effort he tenses, then with a great leap he dives in front of Ueda, saying, "Always gotta be the good guy...Aaackkk!!" The shot nails him dead in the chest and drops him to the ground, like all the other flies. Blood spurting from the wound and his nose and mouth.

Jennifer looks at the sniper, "You tried and you failed. I won't hold that hit on my guy against you. He jumped in the way. But for you it's time to pull out. Shoot again and I'll hunt you all down and your principals too." She activates her force armor harness.

The Sniper curses then looks at Jennifer.."You have my word as a professional." he says, he breaks his gun down and puts it in a case and simply walks off.

Jessica jumps down from the roof of the building to the entrance area, reaching out with her whip to one of the armored cars and flips it over onto it's side pulling it back to cover Fire from any further sniper shots.

Jennifer leaps down and rolls back onto her feet as her whip snakes out and drags a car back into a position to cover Fire, flipping it up onto its side.

Yutaka says chokingly, "..Laura?.." as the body is dragged from the other room.

Valencia doens't recognize the body at first but once Yutaka speaks her eyes widen and a hand goes to her mouth in surprise.

Kataoka drops the body to the ground, she is clearly alive, but something about her eyes are not right..they do not focus, they are lifeless, as if one would see from a corpse, yet here it is breathing, skin looking alive..he grabs a piece of her hair and yanks hard, a large bit of her hair comes out with the pull, he offers the hair to Silver, "here..."

Yutaka goes white with anger coming to his feet involuntarily, his fists clenched and glowing blue...there is madness in his eyes.

Silver Spider blinks for a moment. "Yutaka, no..." She says. "You need to give her a blood transfusion, or she's going to die..." She glares at Kataoka. "How did you get her? Where was she?" Her voice is gentle and cold. o O (Ueda and Shigehara delivered Laura because they were told to, but none of this could have happened without Kai Soma.) "And what the HELL was in Japan that got killed?"

Kataoka sees Yu stand up, "Keep your friend away from me Silver Spider, or you wont find out the best secret of them all.."

Silver Spider turns to Yutaka. "Do as he says. Laura's life is more important than hitting him..."

Valencia narrows her eyes at the Oyabun. "The way I see it we've got Laura. We can do whatever we want to this guy."

Silver Spider turns to Valencia. "Wrong answer. He played it straight with us. Laura wasn't here until this very evening when the other guys showed up."

Yutaka continues to move foward..almost unhearing.

Silver Spider turns to Yutaka. "LISTEN!" She says, taking her hand and putting it on Yutaka's shoulder. "She...needs...your blood. If she doesn't get it, the heir to the Soma family is dead, and everything Kai Soma worked for succeeds." She says. "You need to cut your wrist and feed her your blood. It sounds really stupid, but once your blood gets into her system the infection will start to die."

"He didn't have to treat her that way." Valencia replies coldly, staring at the Oyabun. She stands as well, her gaze remaining steady.

Jennifer tries Siler Spider's PDA as Yutaka isn't answering.

David frowns as this seems to be going bad. He Launches him self off the building his on his board under his feet as he flys towards the old man still running towards his car, weaving bettwen the gaurds he has David pushes his speed to reach try and reach the old man so he can grab him by his shirt. Once that is done he carries him father towards the man's car as he looks at him his eyes pure red and his fangs showing fully as he says in a musical voice "Tonight the monsters of the night in this city wish for you to live...."

Yutaka turns to Spider unable to articulate his anger and his feelings...he extends two fingers in a claw like action he steps close to Kataoka who now seems fearful..he seems to have the look of a man who just realized he crossed a dangerous line..

Silver Spider's latex covered belt makes a little shimmying vibrating sound. Her rear end shakes. "YUTAKA!" She says forcefully in Japanese. "You do NOT hate him more than you LOVE LAURA. SHE IS DYING ON THE GROUND IN FRONT OF YOU. YOU SAVE HER! I'LL GET ANSWERS."

Silver Spider thinks . o O (Stupid PDA)

Yutaka stabs himself in the forearm with his fingers, and he says in a voice that sounds so unlike him..in Japanese, "NEXT.TIME.YOU." and he puts his bleeding forearm on Laura's mouth.

"Mr. Oyabun." Valencia says to Kataoka. "Please step back, for your own safety. Don't leave the room, though. I think we've still got some talking for you to do."

Kataoka steps back stumbling into a wall..the violence in Yu's voice causes some trepidation, and he nods numbly to Valencia..

Silver Spider turns to Kataoka as she picks up the phone. "I don't think so. You're coming with me. If you'll excuse me, I'm about to do something very rude." She says to Valencia. "Pardonne Moy, as the bard says..." She flicks her wrist down at the Oyabun and says "Come on...we're going outside..."

Valencia turns to Silver. "Do you need me to come with you or should I stay here?" She instantly defers to the other hero's judgment.

David grabbing the man whom he probably scares the piss out of as well as probably startling the gaurds, he speeds to his car stopping centimeters short of slamming into the car. At that he looks down at the poor man in his grip his voice still musical "I suggest you run now"

Yu continues to bleed, his blood fills Laura's mouth and over flows, Laura begins to choke..."Its not working..dammit its not working.." he stops and heals himself. Laura's eyes still seem dead..soulless.

Silver Spider flicks up her hand to the PDA and answers it. "Silver Spider! I've kind of got a situation here..." She says cheerily. "Come on, Kataoka. Let's see what's going on outside." She says. "You can come willingly or unwillingly. I strongly suggest willingly, as unwillingly is very embarrassing."

Silver Spider turns to Yutaka. "It's going to take time to work..." She says. "Stop feeding her blood. Do those nanites reproduce?"

Shigehara nods frightenedly.."..Y..yes Obakemono.."

David thinks . o O (Hmmm Obakemono...I wonder what that word means....)

Granite grunts as he rips up the lamp post. "Ok chuckles no one attacks a friend of mine and gets away with it." Using the post to swing at the nearest sniper to take him down.

Jennifer speaks to Silver Spider now there's an answer, "Is Yutaka with you. Fire is down and bleeding out. UV laser to the chest. We need him out here."

Silver Spider howls into the phone. "I don't know who's calling. You NEED To find David and make him break whatever link he's got. If he doesn't, Laura will die. I'm bringing the Oyabun out now. Nobody dies out there! Got me?"

Silver Spider turns to the Oyabun and begins walking for the door. "I'm serious now." She says. "I'm wearing your slippers out of here. Don't you think, not even for a minute, about keeping my boots." She opens the door. "Coming?"

"I'll stay with Yutaka." Valencia tells Silver before turning to Yutaka and kneeling next to Laura.

Yutaka is too focused on Laura to hear Silver's words.

Kataoka nods..."What is happening out there?""

Jennifer tells Silver Spider over the PDA, "David is out here. At least I think it's David. Red eyes and long pointy teeth but the rest looks like David."

Silver Spider turns to Kataoka. "A firefight...' She says. "I think you can order them to stop, though. No one needs to die tonight." She makes her way down the hall. "Tell David he needs to undo whatever he did to Laura, or she's going to die right in front of him from the disease he gave her. She's VERY sick."

Kataoka looks genuinely confused, "Firefight? Did one of the bodyguards do something?..Who's fireing at whom?"

Granite throws the lamp at what he thought was a sniper. At least one thing he could do is probably distract them enough to get people to safety when the thing clangs loudly.

Silver Spider turns to Kataoka. "I think someone above you in Japan did something." She says. "Because you didn't order it."

Jennifer says, "Stands up at the edge of the roof where she is located and yells down to David. "David? Message from Silver Spider. Your to undo whatever you did to Laura or she'll die. Don't ask me what's going on. SS is in the building over there where all the gunmen are."

David yelling back he calls in his musical lit "The bond is already broken! Thy broke it when she died as I didn't want her to come back as one of the un-dieing!"

David says, "it's all up to the cure now!""

Silver Spider makes her way towards the door with Kataoka. "Someone ordered a hit on your bosses, I think..." She says. "Yeah, if I did something like smuggle a powerful woman like the Soma heir into or out of the country without the approval of my superiors, I might order them to kill the offenders." Jennifer shakes her head not knowing what is going on but relays the message to Silver Spider via the PDA.

Silver Spider turns to the PDA. "Tell him that only works if she died in the first place!" She says. "Tell him to do it again. I don't care if it's useless. If it works, then I know who the bad guy is."

Kataoka shakes his head, "No..Silver Spider you do not understand.." is what he gets out as he is dragged towards the exit.

Silver Spider truns to Kataoka. "Well, then talk..." She says. "Because my people are getting killed out there protecting your people."

Yutaka's body starts to glow blue as he begins to heal the body of Laura Garrity, but as he places his hands on her body his eyes open..horrified..."..This is not Laura..." he says.

Jennifer says, "David, SS says do it again. Let's assume she knows what she's doing, she usually does, and just do it okay."

Valencia blinks at Yutaka. "It's not? What do you mean? Is it just another clone?"

Yutaka looks at Val.."I am not sure...I..dont know but this is just a body..it has no life force...It has no chi."

Valencia facepalms. "Jesus, Yutaka..." She gets up and starts to leave the building. She pauses to remove the slippers and put on her own before heading out.

Kataoka looks at Silver, "That woman is not the Soma heir..its just a simulcrum created in a lab."

Silver Spider turns to Kataoka. "So where is the lab, and where did you get it?"

The lamppost flies through the air with the greatest of ease hitting one of the sentries in the knees, he goes down without so much as a 'if you please.'

Yutaka looks at the body..he's horrified. he lets it go..as if it were plague ridden, and backs up on his heels..

Silver Spider flicks her gaze to the door. "Come on, Kataoka. Keep moving. We need to make sure that your bosses understand how close they came to dying tonight and how much face you have saved them through what they thought was disciplining you." She says as she reaches around and snags the body with a webline. "I need to study this...Kataoka says to Silver, "The Soma Family gave that to the Yakuza, right after you came last time."

The Bodyguards are backpedalling getting cover, they don't shoot at each other as they are not certain who is attacking, so they all hold. The sentries on the other hand do not hold..but fire at Granite.

Silver Spider blinks. "Thanks..." She says cooly. "That's all I needed to know." She turns to Kataoka. "You have honored me with valuble information. Honor shall be repaid with honor. And shame shall be repaid with shame. Do you know why the Soma family gave you a clone?" She bows respectfully as she moves to the door.

Kataoka says, with venom in his voice, "Those dirty monsters paid us to protect the Heir, then they gave us the silmucrum to destroy..we felt we could leverage it against them."

Silver Spider blinks. "Why did they give you a fake?" She says cooly as she opens the door. "I STRONGLY suggest everyone stop shooting, or I shall...what's that term again?" She says icily. "Oh yes. WAX VERY VERY WROTH!"

The game is up, the snipers leave.

Granite takes a Recovery.

Yutaka leaves the body..his mind reeling he stumbles out towards the main exit.

Valencia emerges onto the street and looks around. She facepalms. The twins see the situation settling down and hurriedly hide away energy whips and deactivate force armor. Just a couple of young girls out for the evening, nothing to see here, honest.

Granite covers his face as looks above his arms after getting a hail of bullets on his rocky body. "Ok, I take somthing happened?" he asks a bit dumbfounded.

Kataoka yells, "Cease Fire!" and the sentries stand down still trained on Granite, the other body guards have guns out pointed at rooftops or each other. As the fighting ends and the threat seems to end, Shigehara and Ueda come out from their points of relative safety.

Fire slowly pushes himself to his feet, holding his chest and leaning over as pain courses through his body. "Owwww! That really, really hurt. I think I need to buy some body armor." He stumbles a little, "Okay, a little woozy yet, I think."

David sighs some shaking his head some as his fangs retract and his eyes go back to normal. Proping his skate board back up on his back he waits for some one to explain.

Ueda and Shigehara, surrounded by their guards approach Kataoka, fury on Ueda's face, fear on Shigehara's

Jennifer jumps down and strolls over to where Jess and Fire are.

Silver Spider makes her way around the battlefield stabilizing anyone who is bleeding to death with her webbing poultices. "Aw, geez..." She says. "This looks awful..." She flicks her gaze to Ueda and keeps her head low. "Kataoka-sama, please inform Shigehara-sama and Ueda-sama that someone above them in the heirarchy of their organization has likely ordered a hit on them. Please allow me, a lowly gaijin dog, to travel to Japan in search of the truth. Clearly, you had no idea what was going on out here." She says as she glares at Ueda. "Otherwise, this clone never would have made it into the country, since you already knew I suspected the existence of one."

Yu comes out of the brownstone face ashen...he at first looks at Kataoka but then heads straight for Ueda, but before he can reach Ueda there are 2 guns in his face, stopping him in his tracks.

Silver Spider presents the clone of Laura Garrity for all to see.

Jessica intercepts Yutaka. "Yeah, I probably feel the same. But maybe you can spare a moment for your bodyguard before he bleeds any more."

Ueda looks at Silver Spider, "You?..What could you, Gaijin and Woman do?"

Yutaka blinks "My bodyg.." he looks over at Fire..."Dammit." he says and he rushes over to Fire..hands glowing.."Sit down my friend...you look like 10 kinds of hell."

Fire just leans against the car, holding his chest, he says to Jess, "I am fine, no worries, I have been hit by far worse. Trust me. Finish your business, I have done what I do best tonight, so I think I will just try not to pass out over here for now."

David considers butting in which shows on his face, but restraining him self he just walks over towards the group almost seeming to ignore the fact he might get nasty looks or have weapons pointed on him as he walks over to Yutaka

Jessica grins at Ueda'd remark. "He's a slow learner I guess." she says to nobody in particular.

Yutaka places a hand on fire's chest.."Shut up you damn Matyr.." he says but his tones show he's worried. (5d6 Aid Body)

David stops though seeing the false Laura, slowly he kneels next to it and gently nudges with his hand, his nostrals flaring. Still kneeling he looks at the group his eyes narrowed and he nudges it again as something just doesn't seem right...

The body sits there lifeless..but alive..

Fire smiles at Yutaka, "You have to die to be a Martyr, I had no plans of doing that tonight. Just doing my best to make sure other folks who can't take a blast to the chest, don't take a blast to the chest. Would have been nice to have had my flame shield though."

Silver Spider turns to Ueda and bows respectfully. "I believe that you are certainly powerful enough to have everyone killed who is standing here, even if, despite what you believe, I am a match for you in personal combat. However, I would like to point out that no one within your own organization who is beneath you can currently be trusted, as anyone who is above you can give them orders to repeat this action on any number of occasions. You need someone who works outside your system of rules." She says, head remaining bowed.

Shigehara stops Ueda, "Ueda-Oyabun, let her, she is a Gaijin, she is outside of our world, perhaps that is what it will take. Also if she is caught we will be innocent. No Gaijin Dog would be hired by Masahiko Ueda."

Ueda looks at Silver Spider.."Fine..but carry on your personal war..understand there will be no help from the Yakuza, No matter what Kataoka fancies.

Silver Spider nods slowly. "I am not expecting any help from your association..." She says, never lifting her head. "But, I am not expecting any hindrances either. However, I would suggest that you inform your immediate superior that I am coming. That way, if there is an assassination attempt upon me or anyone I bring with me shortly after I arrive, you have a good idea of where your enemies lie." Yutaka returns to the group after seeing Fire is feeling better.."I can do more later Fire..you're going to be ok." he says before doing so.

The twins disagree with one thing Silver has said. . o O(We can take the lot of them without breaking into a sweat if needed.)

Kataoka says, "Oyabun, allow me to give The Gaijin any information we have, The time has come to turn the tables on the Kitsune."

Fire nods to Yutaka, "Thanks and no worries, remember, I am a paramedic, I knew I wasn't dying. Kind of felt like it at first." He looks to the twins and says, a little quietly, "Usually, there is more gratitude when someone's life is saved. I must need to study other cultures more, I guess."

Ueda nods..finally acquiescing, "You have my word, this Gaijin has saved my life this night, you shall have what you need and request.." to Kataoka, he says, "Handle this Kataoka." He then turns jumping into Shigehara's limo, Shigehara jumps into Kataoka's limo, and Kataoka is left with an overturned hover lincoln.

Fire smiles, saying, "There we go, I guess we just had to wait for it."

Silver Spider turns to Fire. "He forgot the debt of forever part..." She chuckles. "Don't abuse it. Use his favor only when it is critical."

Jennifer asks Fire, "How come we always have to study their culture. How about they meet us half way for once?"

Yutaka looks over the dead feeling for chi..but feels none...he turns, "Silver..what are you going to do with the simulcrum?"

Silver Spider turns to Yutaka. "Carbon date it, for one. Test it, for two. Take it with us, for three." She says seriously. "You do realize that he might have stolen her chi and stuffed it in a clone. We have no guarantee that this is a clone yet. Kai Soma could have TOLD them it was a clone. The thing I don't get is why send the body all the way back here."

Fire nods to Silver Spider, "Sure thing. I don't plan on really talking to him again, but if I do, I will remember that." Then to Jenn he says, "No one ever meets us half-way, its the way of the world, good guys always have to go the distance."

Yutaka kneels next to the bundled up Laura he looks upon her face as he sits next to david..he fights back tears as they come unbidden.

Silver Spider turns to the others. "Here's the worst part. Kai Soma is guilty of a global level crime, and we know it. He willfully either A) Cloned Laura Garrity and incinerated it, which is murder, or B) Cloned Laura Garrity while she had a disease and wilfully inserted that disease into an environment where it had the potential to spread.

Silver Spider sighs. "So, Kataoka. Is Kai Soma guilty of illegal bioengineering and murder, or just global bioterrorism?"

Jennifer looks up at the roof where she sat by and watched the assassination attempt. "No more little miss nice girl." she mutters under her breath. "You're very brave, Fire. Not sure about smart but definitely very brave."

Kataoka looks less than confident. "I do not know either, we do know this is a clone. We believe you will find the same sample to match the one you recieved from him."

Silver Spider nods. "So the clones are progeriac..." She murmurs. "That's interesting. So he's cloned Laura Garrity multiple times. Once to fake her death. One to send to you." She pauses..."Unless...." She muses. "Yutaka, forgive me for what I'm about to do...." She begins opening the shirt of the clone, and begins checking it for wounds similar to the ones Laura received in Korea.

Fire shrugs and smiles at Jenn, "Well, I don't know how smart I am either, but I have a thing about letting anyone die. Especially when I can do something about it. Thanks for giving me the heads up on the snipers and I am sorry that I couldn't follow the plan, its just who I am and what I represent. Even if I am in disguise."

Yutaka turns away..

Silver Spider turns to Fire. "That was the right thing to do..." She says as she begins inspecting.

Jennifer nods, "I'll remember that next time and make sure the revised plan doesn't include you taking a shot."

Silver Spider blinks. "Oh, god..." She says. "I've been looking at this wrong."

Silver Spider turns to Yutaka. "The clone is lifeless and devoid of chi. But every clone is a sentient. They have exactly as much chi as everyone else."

Fire nods to SS, then says to Jenn, "Okay, thanks, I would appreciate that kind of plan. The next shot might be one strong enough to take me out altogether."

Silver Spider pauses. "So what is Kai Soma doing with it?"

Yutaka raises an eyebrow at Silver.."what are you saying?"

Silver Spider turns to Yutaka. "All that chi. All those clones."

Jessica finally puts two and two together to make a disturbing four. "Clone? The Laura in Korea was a clone?" She demands an answer from Yutaka.

Silver Spider says, "The clones are progeriac. They die quickly. But they have just as much chi as a normal person, maybe more because she's the Soma Heir."

Yutaka turns to Jessica.."It seems that way..It seems that way."

Silver Spider says, "So where does it all go?"

Yutaka looks at Silver.."I am not the expert, but I believe it is not Chi..it is spiritual.."

Fire looks to SS, "Are you saying that Kai Soma is stealing and hoarding Chi? That just doesn't sound very nice."

Jessica goes cold faced, remembering all the fatalities while she bought time for Alex and Mr Y to paramendic Laura. "Someone is going to pay for this."

Silver Spider turns to Yutaka. "So where does all this spirit energy go? What is happening to it?" She says. "If the clones are devoid of it, it's not because they never had any. If that were true, clones wouldn't be able to stand up in a court of law, prove their existence and say "Hi, I'm Bob 323. I have rights just like Bob 322 and 321, who you approved last week." It's my belief that Kai Soma may not be what we think he is. Worse still, Neo-Sung may not be what we think it is, since they had the technology and Soma really didn't. Remember, Neo-Sung has the genetic engineering. Soma makes music and controls real estate."

Silver Spider says, "Oh, and Neo-Sung has matter transport capability. We know this because they copy technologies quicky and Yutaka stole it from them."

Yutaka nods slowly.."Something is not right here at all."..he is torn between the implications and the wonder and hope that Laura may still be alive." Yutaka frowns at Silver.."Xnay of the Olenstay.."

Fire thinks about what is being said, he says, "The Laura that lead the group in Japan was a fake? Someone has to answer for this."

Silver Spider turns to Fire. "Yes. Someone does. It's my belief that either Kai Soma or Neo-Sung has Laura Garrity. They had a three week kidnap window. The clones are sick because Laura is still sick. But the clones don't get sick until the progeria advances."

Yutaka nods both to Fire and Jess, "That is why we are here folks.." he stares at Kataoka. "Remember my words Kataoka, if you ever get involved in anything like this again..if you ever deem it worth your time to get involved in something that will affect me, my friends or my family, then you will be next."

Jennifer and Jessica think for a moment, realization striking home. "No. No, Fire, not a fake. A person. Not the original Laura maybe but still a person."

Silver Spider says, "Theory one is that Kai Soma is either blackmailed by or working for Neo-sung, and he paid the Yakuza to cover his tracks."

Silver Spider says, "Theory two is that Kai Soma IS the head of the Yakuza."

Yutaka says shortly, "We need Kai Soma...all roads lead to him."

Silver Spider says, "Think about it for a moment. He regulates supernatural activity on all ends of the spectrum. As soon as I started asking about Laura Garrity, a clone arrives in Kataoka's yard."

Silver Spider says, "Then, to cover his tracks, he tries to whack Kataoka's opposite number who smuggled the clone into the country, and Ueda, who acted without his OWN approval because he did it as Kai Soma and not as his cover identity."

Kataoka speaks, eyeing Yutaka but listening.."No..The Clone was given to Ueda-sama, He brought it to me, to give to you."

Fire nods to SS, then says to Jenn and Jess, "Yeah a person, that still pains me to know that Rebound and I couldn't save her, but Ms. Garrity may still be alive and held captive." Then he says to Kataoka to backup Yutaka, "Yeah and your laser rifles can't kill us either, I am proof of that, besides, I think I saved your big bosses life tonight too. So hah!"

Jessica says, "Why theorize? Let's go ask this Kai Soma guy personally."

Silver Spider nods. "Fire? Don't abuse the privelage Ueda-Sama has given you." She says seriously. "And Kataoka, think about what I just said. How else would someone above Ueda in the organization even KNOW that he was going to be here?"

Silver Spider says, "You didn't, and Shigehara-sama didn't either."

Yutaka nods.."I'll ask a friend of mine if we can arrange for a black drop into Japanese territory...speak to Kai personally."

Silver Spider nods. "So are you guys ready for theory number three?"

Silver Spider says, "And the black drop sounds just dandy..."

Silver Spider says, "In theory number three, Neo-Sung has Laura Garrity. And Kai Soma is a clone just like these Lauras we faced. Matter Transport allows him to instantaneously replace his consciousness into a new body by stealing the chi of whatever supernatural creatures he can get his grubby little hands on. Neo Sung controls Kai Soma."
