Its a hot summer evening, the heat of the night does not promise good things. It is also the night of the New Street Market Night that the City is trying out. The throng of people are here checking out kiosks and stands that are reminescent of the late 1950s where farmers and other people sold their wares on the streets. Its interesting for those too young to remember this, And while there are various vendors that are selling fruits and vegetables, cut fruit, and ice desserts, there are also those selling fashion and high tech gear. Anyone who is a small vendor but has something to sell is here. Some boothes are small, others large, all run by either single owners or small families or friends.

Yu is here walking the streets, looking at the booths, he thinks Val would love to have been here, its just her speed, she's city but sometimes, very country.

Ashton walks through the crowd as Ashton as to not alarm anyone, ignoring the food vendors for the high tech vendors.

At one of the high tech vendors a man can be heard saying, "In these trying times, we've all lost friends and loved ones. Look at the Harrisburg Tragedy, Thankfully the heroes both meta and normal people alike fought and won against a terrible enemy of humanity.." There is an unusually large crowd at that booth.

Ashton walks over, intrigued. He stops near the edge of the crowd, listening.

Captain Rackham strolls along, occasionally getting some small bit of food to try. The hubbub of the crowd and the various smells are useful for mixing with his usual sound and scent effects so they're not as alarming. He does still glow, though, and there seems to be a slight 'bubble' in the crowd around him due to the air of unease he gives off.

Yolanda stands by a fashion booth, slightly bent over as she tries on an earring and looks into a mirror. She catches a glimpse of something in the reflection and she straightens and turns. "Good evening, Captain," she says cheerfully, with a earring dangling from just one ear.

Captain Rackham hms? He tips his hat. "Good e'enin' to 'ee, m'lady! How be ye on this luvverly night?"

Walking around is difficult..perhaps not so diffciult for the captain, but for everyone else, as there is hustle and bustle.

"You sir..you look interested.." says the operator of the booth Aston is approaching. "My name is Harvey, yours?" he asks the man.

"Mah name is Eldridge..What does your machines do?" he asks. Eldridge is an elderly man, perhaps in his mid to late eighties.

"Eldridge, let me tell you what my machines do. They can look into your memories using a hyperelectronic Radiowave and stimulate a hologram from those memories. It wont replace your family, but when ever you want to see them, you can. You can even have a conversation. The machine creates logical responses from your memories of your lost friends and family." he looks over the crowd and says, "For you parents, The machine does have parental controls to stop any over active imaginations from creating things that are not...well, lets just say appropriate." he then turns back to Eldridge, "Would you like to try it?"

Yolanda smiles, still finding the Captains accent novel and amusing. "Just luverly myself." She takes the earring out of her ear and looks past the Captain to the large group gathered by the Harrisburg booth. "Hmm. What's over there?"

Yutaka sees the crowd forming more in front of one booth than all the others, and goes over to it..."Creates a holo?..pretty cool..but...I don't know.." he says softly to himself.

Ashton notices and hears Yutaka nearby, replying to what he said, "It look interesting so far."

Captain Rackham nods. "Et be right pleasant t' hear, it be it be." He hms? Turning his head, he looks over to the large group as well. "Et be a crowd. They be lookin at somethin', they be," he quips.

Yutaka turns to Ashton, not having seen him.."Oh..geez, Ashton, I didnt see you there." but he nods, "Interesting..yes, but also, heart wrenching don't you think?"

"Come on." Yolanda says, nodding her head towards the crowd, inviting Rackham to walk with her. She begins to head towards the booth, carefully trying to navigate the crowd.

Eldridge looks at Harvey, "Ah you sayin, that I could see mah wife, and Kids..and grand kids again?" his voice is strained, with either sadness or hope.

Harvey gives Eldridge a look of compassion and says, "Eldridge, remember I said, you could see them, but it would not be a recreation, it wouldn't be like bringing them back. Their responses to you would be based upon your memories, not what you wanted to hear, or your idealized version of them, but your actual memories. Do you understand that?"A

"And..what? just goin tah be holograms?" he obviously is a little wary.

Harvey shakes his head, "No, it will create a 3D fully realized physical representation of your loved one. It uses much the same technology as the Transmat, utilizing atoms and rearranging them into a physical object, Once turned off, the atoms revert back to their original composition."

Yutaka frowns.."Wow..a physical representation..he creates a doppleganger?..That's pretty darn amazing. Kind of like the practice room at Steels no?"

Captain Rackham nods, following to the crowd, and thus, the tech demo.

Ashton watches the demonstration with interest. He replies to Yutaka, "I guess so. Except this I'm assuming doesn't use bulky technology."

Eldridge says, "Yah mean I could..I could touch my wife's face again?"

Harvey nods sympathetically, "That's exactly what I'm saying Eldridge."

Yutaka nods to Ashton. "Couldn't could it?"

Yolanda walks up beside Yutaka quietly, and bumps into his shoulder lightly, leaning over into him. "Hey," she says, smiling. "Hello, Ashton."

Eldrigde nods, "Ah would like to try it if its ok?"

The crowd looks on with anticipation many smiling and nodding at Eldridge, while Harvey says, "Eldridge, it would be my pleasure to let you try it, free of charge of course. If you decide you want it after we're done here, we'll talk price then. Fair?"

Yutaka turns to see Yolanda and Capt. Rackham and smiles, "Hey Yoli...this is pretty interesting." he leans into her giving her a side hug with one arm and gives her a chaste kiss on the cheek.

Ashton waves to Yolanda, not surprised that much. He's intent on watching the demonstration.

Yolanda raises slightly on her toes to return a platonic kiss to Yutaka's cheek. She turns back towards the demonstration. "What is it exactly...?"

Captain Rackham smiles a bit, tucking his hands into his coat's pockets as he watches.

Eldridge nods and follows Harvey into the booth, there is a chair in the booth and Harvey motions for Eldridge to sit down. "Now relax Eldridge, this wont hurt a bit, but you might feel a strange tingling in the back of your head. Ok?"

Eldridge nods and Harvey begins to place monitors on Eldridge's fore head, temples, and base of his skull. He also sets up some monitoring equiptment on his wrists and over his carotid artery. "Close your eyes for a moment Eldridge, and think of whom ever it is you want to think of."

Yu explains what he's seen so far to both CR and Yolanda.

Ashton says to Yu, "Well, the monitoring equipment seems sort of bulky."

Captain Rackham nods, listening and watching.

Yutaka nods, "I'm not sure its a necessary part of the equiptment, but I'm not sure.."

Yolanda lowers her voice slightly, so that hopefully her words are only for Yutaka, Ashton, and Rackham. "I don't think it's entirely a healthy idea... people need to come to terms with their loss."

Yutaka nods slowly, "I agree Yoli.."

Captain Rackham smirks. "I be thinkin' of an industry that be makin' creative use o' it, if'n ye catch me meanin'. HAR!"

Eldridge closes his eyes and begins to think about his family, taken and killed in the Harrisburg Event. Tears begin to well from his eyes as he does, The crowd gasps though, as a whole, more people drawing near with the collective gasp.

An elderly woman in her seventies or early eighties appears suddenly, from thin air, she walks forward and says, "Eldridge honey, why ahre you cryin? Whats wrong baby?" she says and wipes the tears from his cheeks.

Eldrige's eyes open and he says chokingly, "Rachel?..is that you?"

Harvey puts a gentle hand on Eldridge's shoulder and says "Remember Eldridge, she's literally a figment of your imagination. She's not real. But she can't see me, only you. She's not real."

Rachel nods, "Of course its me baby, now what's you cryin for?"

Eldridge nods to Rachel, "You died...a couple of months ago, you died..so did Robby and Angela. Some aliens did it..." his voice cracking.

Rachel looks surprised, "I did? They did?" she nods.."Ah..I remember now. Ahm so sorry Eldridge, I'm sorry for leaving you alone. I always thought it would be me alone at the end, not you." she places a gentle hand on Eldridge's cheek. "My sweet Eldridge, its going to be ok. I promise, it always ends up ok. Remember? You taught me that." She smiles.

Yolanda rolls her eyes. She sighs at Rackham's comment, "Yes, it's true... just as soon as a new kind of technology arrives, people try to figure out how to use it for... /that/."

The crowd goes silent, watching this private moment, some people in the crowd being to cry. Others look horrified..as if re-experiencing something themselves.

Yutaka sighs shaking his head. "That's horrible..yet," he pauses, "I can see the draw of it."

Yutaka points at what's happening in the booth, and looks at CR, "I meant that, not your comment.."

Ashton asks Yolanda, "What about theraputic usages? There might be some healthy usages there."

Yolanda shakes her head, frowning. "It's like calling a telephone psychic for advice. You hear what you want to hear, instead of what you need to hear. Part of what I do, it I help people through circumstance like this -- you can't reproduce therapy with a box."

Harvey says to Eldridge, "Eldridge, Say goodbye, its time to go ok?" his hand is gentle on Eldridge's shoulder.

Eldridge nods, "Baby, I gotta go..but I love you, I will always love you."

Rachel smiles and nods, "Ah know it El, Ah've always known that. You're a good man El, its going to be ok. And I love you too. Even if ah didn't always show it as well as Ah could've."

Eldridge shakes his head, "You showed it enough Rach." and he touches her hand, she holds it for a moment and says, "El..you said it was time to go. Ah'll see you later." she squeezes his hand and then disappears.

Captain Rackham smirks and nods a bit. "Et be good t' relive memories o' times past an' friends gone now an' then."

Eldridge begins to cry, and sits there for a moment until Harvey squeeze's Eldridge's shoulder again. "El..its time to get up..are you ok?"

Eldridge nods and is smiling when he gets up. "Thank you Harvey. You got a card?" his voice a bit shaky. "Ah'd like to catch up with you again some time."

Harvey nods..."Absolutely, if you need some time, there's a seat in the back, My assistant is back there.

Yutaka nods, "Yoli..I can see both sides, it really depends on the individual, and not the tool though, don't you think?"

As Eldridge walks in the back, Harvey turns to the crowd, "You all saw it, first hand. How about another volunteer?"

Yolanda admits reluctantly, "Well, I suppose that, in moderation, it's just a 2050s version of a photo album."

Yolanda says, "And I'm not convinced that any of it actually works... He're I'll show you."

Yolanda raises her hand. "I'll try it out."

Harvey points to Yolanda, "Thank you very much ma'am. Come on up here!" he smiles broadly.

Yolanda steps up to Harvey. "I'll warn you. I'm a bit of a skeptic."

Ashton watches Yolanda, interested in what she'll imagine up.

The crowd as a whole turns to where Harvey points and watches as Yolanda steps up.

Captain Rackham smirks. "I be thinkin' et be safer t' keep me head out o' that, though. ... Me ancestors might be usin' it t' go on a grand ol' pillage if'n I be tryin' it, curse me bones else," he comments to himself. He watches as Yolanda steps up.

Harvey smiles, "Ma'am aren't we all the first time? I'll make you a believer. While Eldridge's sampling was very...moving, this does not only have to be with those who have passed, but also those who are simply not present, friends, neighbors, classmates..The more you know about them the more realistic the encounter will be."

Harvey leads Yolanda to the chair, "Ma'am your name?"

Yolanda smiles. "Doctor Yolanda Simmons." She says, emphasizing the 'Doctor'.

Ashton watches the demonstration intently, curious as to what will happen.

Harvey nods, "Nice to meet you Dr. Simmons, I am Dr. Harvey Castle. Please have a seat and relax, I'll be putting on the monitors and the electroradio transmitters."

Yutaka watches Yolanda sit down, a worried frown on his face.

Yolanda sits down in the chair, taking a moment to get comfortable. She leans back and crosses her legs.

Captain Rackham hms, watching as well. He glances over at Yutaka, then fishes out a flask from his pocket and offers it upon seeing the frown.

Yutaka shakes his head waving off the offer..absently he says, "No..no thanks.."

Dr. Harvey Castle puts the monitors on Yolanda and says, "Dr. Simmons, the monitors are also for heart rate and blood pressure as well as oxygen levels in the blood. We want to make certain that there is no chance of emotional overload or cardiac events. We understand the deep emotional agents at work here. Now close your eyes and think of your loved one."

Captain Rackham nods. He opens the flask and takes a quick drink himself. He then closes the flask and puts it away again, resuming watching.

Yolanda closes her eyes. She takes a deep breath. Yolanda's reluctant to do it at first, but then she starts to recall her memories of her deceased grandmother. She delves into her mind recalling the minute details...

Ada..that was her name, she appears, and smiles "Hello little girl. You're so pretty, I almost didn't recognize you. How long has it been since I've seen you?" she walks up to Yolanda and takes her face in both hands "Oh you don't need that make up! You never did!" she says with a smile.

Yutaka watches as the older woman greets Yolanda.

Yutaka turns to Ashton, "looks like the real deal."

Yolanda blinks her eyes open. She sits up a little, surprised at how real the simulation appears.

Ashton can't help but snicker, just a little, at Yolanda's simulated grandmother. He says to Yutaka, "Yeah, seems pretty real."

Captain Rackham smirks. "Et be a neat toy, at least."

Yutaka nods, "I bet its uber expensive..."

Yutaka turns to grin at Capt. Rackham, "I'd bet the adult control you're thinking of is not the one that has been built into it either..I think its adult features you're looking for, not adult controls."

"Yolanda," Ada asks, "How are you doing? Very busy as always..." She smiles. "I want to remind you to always take care care of your sister."

Yutaka turns back to the scene unfolding in the booth.

Yolanda's brow knits as she watches her illusory grandmother.

Yutaka watches Yoli's features carefully...she's obviously perplexed on how to deal with her faux-granny

Ada continues, "And it won't hurt to for you to come to church once in a while. You used to go all the time when you were younger..."

Ada's features suddenly change..only a little but suddenly she looks sardonic. "Yes.." she says, "Yes, you probably should have gone to church more, It would probably make it less of an opportunity for me.."

The mind is a strange thing, memories are true, but the subconcious works even when you are not aware of it..thus it being sub conscious. There is a demon that has been plagueing the dreams of heroes for months,..drawing them into a dream realm, but now...now he is hear, the portal of a strong mentalist, and the augmentation of this technology has set him free..

Ashton just continues watching... wait, this probably shouldn't happen...

Ada's features turn saturnine, and she grows suddenly tearing the canvas roof off the booth, now towering over 20 feet in the air, features turning into that of a classic demon, large oxen horns on his head, skin a deep red, forked tail, talons for finger nails, and the build of a god. It laughs drowning out the sounds of the streetmarket, and people start to scream and flee.

Yutaka is torn between helping those people fleeing and helping Yolanda...

Yolanda hurriedly tries to pull off all the contacts and equipment.

The contacts come off, but the demon does not go away..."Oh little girl..your grandmother was right!"

Captain Rackham blinkblinks. He looks up at the thing. "Oh. And here I be thinkin' et be a slow day!" he comments as he starts toward the demon, desolidified for ease of moving through the crowd. He makes a drawing motion, spectral blade forming as he approaches.

Yutaka pretends to get knocked down by the fleeing crowd, even getting stepped on a few times as his armor forms, not changing from its look, but becoming harder and more resilient. He then tries to get up using a martial technique, and moves towards the demon and Yolanda as well.

Yutaka flips to his feet and is on the move to Yolanda and the demon.

Kibin is stunned for a bit by the demons sudden appearance, but quickly recovers. He runs towards the demon, shifting into his raptor form.

The demon roars his amusement, "Ah..just what I was looking for, Heroes! Mighty Heroes of this realm!...Where is the daughter of he who is not to be named?" he looks around, "I do not see her...but I shall find her...to be certain."

Harvey begins to back away..."W..What is this??? What have you brought here?? What is in your mind woman??"

The Demon tries to swipe harvy into next week..

Harvey is hit hard and is sent flying into the next booth, he clears the counter which is a godsend, and it just happens that the booth next door is selling hay...hay! of all things..he lands hard, but not as hard as he could have.

Yolanda says, "I certainly wasn't thinking of that!"

Yolanda quickly reaches for the device on her belt, activating her personal force field. She looks up at the twenty foot talk creature. "What are you?" she asks as she tenses, getting ready to bolt. She looks away from the stage, spying an escape route, but then she looks back up to the creature and squints her eyes...

The Demon winces as Yolanda's mental attack hits him in the mind...he glowers at her as heat seems to roll off his body. "Foolish Mind Wench!..You'll pay for that."

Kibin is guessing it's definitely hostile, so he lunges at the Demon, spinning on one of his feet and hitting the demon as hard as he can with his tail. He asks Yolanda, "He was in your mind?"

Kibin's tail hits the demon in the shin, and it sends the demon stumbling, but whether magical or otherwise, the demon fails to fall, righting itself before it can hit the ground...another angry yell and its eyes start to blaze with an internal fire.

Kibin repeats his earlier action, swinging around with his tail to hit the demon. He doesn't want to possibly wound it yet, he's not sure how real it is right now.

The demon is struck again low which sends the demon stumbling into a near by building...parts of it break off as he hits and leans into it, again avoiding falling.

Captain Rackham hahars, letting his form solidify from the foggy, wispy state he used to get to the stage. He closes the distance, then lunges to attack the demon with his ghostly cutlass! He strikes with astounding speed and skill with the blade!

Pushed futher into the wall, with the quick attack, the demon though seems unphased by the attack..not even bruising appearing..."Heroes! I called it such too early!"

His eyes light up and he opens his mouth and from it a gout of flame pours forth to try to hit Yolanda...

Yolanda is knocked through the side of the booth, unconscious before she even hits the ground.

Yutaka shouts Yolanda!!

Yutaka's fists start to glow red as he see's Yolanda crushed through the wall of the booth, he runs at the demon and jumps in an attempt to crush its knee...

What did you expect??? Yutaka, while being a local hero, is still a normal, his hit would have knocked most men out, but this one...eh..no. His glowing red fists are different, kind of like Xing Liu, except red...perhaps he's been training with her again.

Kibin notices that the demon seems to be really prone to falling over. Thus, he hits the demon in the shin AGAIN with his tail, hoping to knock the demon down.

The Demon's shin is looking hurt..really hurt and while he doesn't fall, he does seem to favor his other leg...but he's looking angrier than ever...

Captain Rackham yars! "Pickin' on th' women? Ye lack th' skill t' take on th' likes o' me?" he taunts. Once more, he attempts to tickle with that cutlass of his.

The demon..finally falls, the jab is so well placed that even though it doesn't do much damage, it knocks the demon off his balance falling to the ground.

Yutaka's fists continue to glow red, and when the demon falls, he takes an opportunity to strike the demon in the throat..hoping for better results...

The Demon's throat is punched, but the small fist only elicits a "GACK!!!" from the fallen Demon..its still awake though, trying to garner a breath after the strike...

The Demon's eyes start to glow in a way that no one would ever say is good..and he blinks and suddenly a ray of black is aimed at Kibin..the most dangerous of enemies right now...

Kibin leaps away from the eyebeams, over a display stand as the eyebeams blow it to bits. "That was close..." he mutters.

Kibin lands on one foot after narrowly avoiding doom, instantly leaping at the demon, spinning in midair to hit the demon once more with his tail.

Eldridge gets up after almost being crushed by the demon behind the booth..he walks into the booth with a determined look on his face.

The demon seems unfazed by the hit by Kibin..mostly unfazed at least, its starting to look hurt..its focus less intent in its eyes..

Captain Rackham growls a bit, keeping up his savage attacking with his cutlass. "HAR! Ye picked th' wrong day, ye black beast! I been itchin' fer a good scrap fer weeks!"

The demon doesn't even seem to notice CR..as he keeps his eyes on Kibin.

Yutaka seems to have been effective so he tries again this time with an axeheel kick to the throat..

The Demon didn't like that, and even though he is kicked...what looks really hard, he barely notices the hit.

Yutaka or Kibin...who's going to take the hit??

The demon doesn't even try to get up and focuses his beams on the raptor again.

The eyebeams of the demon clip the crafty Dinosaur but in a bad place and it sends him flying through the air, to land near Yolanda unconscious.

Kibin groans next to Yolanda, eyes opening on the ground after a short time.

Captain Rackham growls. "Oh, ye think yer such a mighty demon, eh?" he grumbles, letting his cutlass dissipate and forming a similarly etheral old-style pistol. "Why don't ye chew on this!"

The pistol hits the demon who flinches visibly...he is looking very groggy from all the hits...

Yutaka tries to take advantage of this his fist falling once more like a little hammer to the demon's temple.

The demon's eyes roll up in the back of its head..and Eldridge walks out from the ruined booth with the monitors on his head. "You took this girls memory and made it a nightmare!" he says angry, He leans on the side of the booth and closes his eyes...and Rachel Appears..

Rachel walks up to the demon..who..as she appears he seems to shrink, Yu steps to the side..not sure what's happening.

Rachel gets nearer and the demon shrinks even more to normal human size, Once there Rachel grabs the demon by the ear and says, "These people are good people, and you ruined it for them. You need to go away!" her voice elderly..

Kibin gets back up from his feet almost as quickly as he was knocked off of them, shaking off that blow. "Ugh... going to feel that in the morning.

With a grip that only an experienced Granny would know, she lifts the demon painfully to his feet, and he tries to swipe at her, but it seems..its the will of the user, and not the actual memory that matters, With Yolanda out and the backing of her will gone, Rachel seems to have more power, and his hit to her is nothing..and suddenly they both desolve into nothingness.

Eldridge takes off the monitors, "Now that's what Rachel would have done..bless her heart." he says throwing down the monitors and begins to walk off towards harrisburg.

Yolanda vanishes! With a little bit of subtle mental manipulation she disappears from the sight of those around as she pulls herself slowly to her feet. o O ( Ouch, I feel like a pinata on Cinco de Mayo... )

Yolanda thinks. o O ( What the..?! )

Kibin goes over to check on the owner of the machines, to see if he's all right.

Yutaka sees the threat is over and his hands are glowing blue, he doesn't see yolanda but he knows a man in hurt, he hurdles the counters and lays his hands on Harvey..."You're going to be ok.." and in a flash of light..

He's looking much better...not great but stable..

Yolanda reappears, now that she's confirmed that the fight is over.

Captain Rackham phews... "Yar... I be missin' quite a bit back there... Guess I just be needin' t' calm down a tad when fightin'.

Kibin asks Yolanda, "What was that thing?"

Yolanda says, "I don't know... but I aim to find out."

Yutaka looks up.."some kind of demon..I think I've seen him before..In a dream."

Yolanda says, "In a dream...?"

Yutaka nods.."yeah..we'll talk about it later Yoli.."

Kibin comments, "I think he forgot to put in safety measures into that thing."

Yutaka nods slowly..."Its obviously...dangerous. " he pulls his PDA and calls emergency services for the Downed Doctor.

The police are swarming out of the police station, including the meta police...but there is no culprit..

Captain Rackham takes a seat, then pulls out his flask. "Arrr... et be a shame th' thing be ignorin' me, aye?" He opens the flask and takes a drink.

Kibin sniffs and looks around for any other injuries, informing Yutaka about them if he seems any.

Kibin flexes his hand, it feels like every bone in his body is sore now. He says to Captain Rackham, "How's that a shame? You weren't hit, were you?"

Captain Rackham nods. "Aye, but 'e just be ignorin' until I be changin' me course o' attack."

Kibin says to Captain Rackham, "Or perhaps because he thought he knocked me out of the fight?"

Yutaka nods.."Thank god he didn't target me..I'd be dead now.." he looks over Kibin.."Need any healing? I learned it from Xing-liu."

Captain Rackham shrugs. "May'aps. Et be a mite irritatin' t' be ignored like a gnat, 'ang me from th' yardarm else."

Kibin shakes his head. He says, "Aside from being sore, I'm fine. I recover quickly, I suppose."

Yutaka nods.."Ok..I'm going to go help others..people were trampled, myself included.." he goes and begins to help others..even to the point that he can almost not stand.

Kibin isn't that good with healing sooo.... he goes talk to the police. Along with Rackham if he comes along.

The medical teams finally arrive and start to transport people to the hospitals or treat for minor injures

Captain Rackham has a different philosophy of helping. He doesn't do anything. They'll be stronger for having survived the ordeal, he figures. As for if he's questioned by the police... one wonders how well they understand pirate?

Kibin goes over what happened... basically some device that created physical things based on peoples memories, somehow created a giant demon thing, demon thing decided to smash stuff.

The lead cop..a meta cop, nods to Kibin.."I believe you..now where is it?"

Kibin says to the lead cop, "Well.... it was generated by the device, and faded away eventually."

Martinelli..that's what his badge says, "Ok,..we've got witnesses, who made this device?"

Kibin says to Martinelli, "He's right now being taken to the hospital as the demon kind of hit him..."
