Vanishing Yu Rescue: part 2 of 2

Alex looks to the twins. "Not exactly... seems like we'll be winging this one -- I mean even moreso than normal."

Caleb grins as he thinks about the twins' mission plan. "Maximize collateral damage. I like that part..."

Alex adjusts his goggles, the one carryover from his normal Rebound costume, which he's swapped for the simple black supersuit provided by the Soma Clan.

Caleb says, "Disinformation sounds good, too. Jen, I'm assumin' you can handle that part, yeah? Are we goin' in covert... I mean, is this officially a new blood op?"

Laura looks around at the group, uncertain what the plan is..

Jennifer grins, "Alex is the boss, as always, but I'd reccomend against being overt. They're supplied some neat ninja suits for me to wear. Shame they didn't add a couple of the EM rail guns I saw on the previous trip."

Midnight says, "OK. I figure my usual look blends in pretty well with the whole ninja thing. Basically the plan is in-and-out with Mr. Y and the girl, right? So if we can get a secure beachhead within a few hundred meters of the sub, that'd be good... I can get a lock on it and try t'port 'em out."

Rebound says, "Yes, this is a New Blood operation, but I don't think we need to let them know about it. That's why I'm in different threads. They'll put it together -- I mean how many super-stretchy heroes are out there?" Rebound glances to Val. "But there's no need to make it easy on them.""

Valencia sits in the plane listening to Jen. She's dressed head to toe in a black suit with mask.

Midnight says, "Any chance of just landin' the plane in range so I can port 'em in here?"

Jessica looks at Caleb in surprise, "You can do that?"

Valencia smirks at Rebound and then blinks at Midnight. "That'd be cool."

Midnight says, "Well, if y'all can lay hands on sonar goggles or some kinda thing like that, we can go in dark..." he blinks at Jess. "Um... well, if I don't glitch, yeah. Ain't the most reliable thing in the world, but if it works, speeds things up a bunch.""

Laura looks at everyone, "So, we are going to destroy the generator?..perhaps Midnight would be good for it?

Midnight blinks. "Generator?"

Jennifer says, "Caleb, can you explain in words of less than one syllable, so I can follow, how you can get Mr Y and his wrad out. Don't you have to see them somehow to tp them out?"

Midnight nods. "Yeah. Sorry, I'm still tryin' to catch up on the plan here, J. I thought the idea was we go in, snatch 'em, and get the hell out. I'm just sayin' I can get the last part of that done fast. Course that still leaves the first two.

Midnight shakes his head. "So, OK. We're interceptin' this sub. What's the idea for when the sub docks? I get that we wanna blow stuff up an' distract the enemy... great. But what's the main goal?"

Jennifer nods, "Ah. I misunderstood. I was kind of hopeful you could stand off a few hundred yards and teleport them out to us. Guess it's going to be the hard way after all."

Rebound says, "The goal is to grab Yutaka and Sakura and escape with everyone intact."

Midnight shakes his head. "No... though I could phase my way into the sub an' port 'em out, if I'm lucky. I gotta grab 'em first, though.

Midnight says, "Maybe you guys could distract the goonsquad an' I come in around the back?"

Midnight chuckles. "If we don't wait 'till it docks, we could just flood the damn thing. But if the port glitches, that'd be bad."

Jennifer looks around at the new voice, "Boss?"

Random Factor grins. "Heyas, kiddo."

Valencia nods to Midnight. "Killing them would be bad."

Jennifer looks at Random and then Rebound. "Who's in charge? Split commands simply lead to confusion. You need to settle that between you before we get into action."

Midnight looks RF over skeptically. "Never signed up t'take orders from you."

Rebound nods. "I'll defer to Random... I can't match his experience."

Random Factor grins. "It's ok. This is your show. You've been working it together all along, and you know your team better than I.

Valencia stretches an arm across the open space of the plane to motion thwapping Midnight upside the head. "Worry about your ego some other time."

Midnight says, "Ain't got nothin' t'do with ego, V. He don't know what I can do, I dunno what he can do, middle of a firefight ain't the right time t'get t'know each other. Reeb, I know an' trust."

Random Factor says, "I take it you know what you're up against here?"

Midnight says, "Anyway. So, whichever of you is runnin' the show -- what's the game plan? We go in hard together, grab Mr. Y and the girl, and fight our way out? Y'all make a scene out front while Random an' me sneak in the back an' try to port 'em out? Somethin' else?"

Valencia pulls her arm back. "Not as such." She replies to RF.

Rebound nods to Random. "Alrighty then... So we've got a bunch of ideas, and we need to condensed them into something coherent. I'm thinking that we all stick together -- wait for them to bring out Sakura and Yutaka, then jump them. Maybe set up something where we can cut the power at the time we need to make our move."

Midnight nods to Rebound. "K"

Random Factor says, "Well, I don't have specifics, but this is a very well orgainzed group. Well trained and with high tech equipment. More than likely, they have meta support. Even if they don't, some of their operatives are so well trained and armed they may as well be metas. Don't fool yourselves. We're in for a fight. And you're not likely to find a drunken, lazy guard."

Laura suddenly looks more concerned, her idea of what was going to happen suddenly changing with RF's announcement.

Rebound looks to the twins. "Did you manage to pack anything like demolition charges?"

Midnight says, "Just so's I know, who here is any good at sneakin'?"

Laura says softly, "Maybe we should sneak in and do this..."

Rebound says, "You're right, Random. Speed and surprise will be our only chance."

Random Factor says, "I'm better'n most."

Rebound says, "I believe we're all pretty sneaky."

Jennifer shakes her head, "Sorry. Up to the last moment I thought we'd have to head over here on a commercial flight. I didn't think a box of C4 would go down too well at checkout."

Valencia shrugs at Midnight. "I don't really know."

Midnight nods to Rebound. "OK. So lemme make sure I get this: plan is we land, sneak up to the subdock, get in attack range without bein' spotted, wait 'till the sub docks an' they take Yu & the girl out, we charge in an' take down all the bad guys, then reverse tracks without bein' followed an get back to the plane an' take off?"

Rebound says, "That's the gist of it. We also need to cut the power to the generators, to help us get away."

Midnight nods. "K. If Fire shows, I guess he hangs back 'till we charge in. V, if you're gonna get us spotted, y'should hang back too."

Midnight nods to Reeb again. "K. Who goes after the generator?"

Random Factor says, "Maybe Fire here could take them out in an obvious attack, as a distraction. But coount on them having back-ups. It may buy us time, but not alot."

Valencia nods to Midnight, not offering any other argument.

Rebound says, "Maybe Fire can fly in and disable the generator. If I recall though, there was a backup one as well."

Jennifer says, "I think we need to check out what the well dressed opposition guard is carrying. If they have image intensiers as standard blacking the place out will work in their favor and not ours."

Midnight nods to Jen. "So, we wanna send in a scout first, check out the dock security, report back an' make more plans then?" he asks Rebound.

Random Factor says, "When I turn invisible, it's to to infrared and ultra as well as smell. Even dogs won't detect me."

Rebound says, "Ok. We'll send a sneak team ahead to check out the guards. Midnight and one of the twins, I think."

Midnight sniffs the air deliberately, grins, but doesn't say anything.

Jennifer grins, "I'll volunteer RF for the scout. He's the sneakiest guy I know."

Midnight gets up at R's comment, and sits back down at J's.

Random Factor smirks at Midnight. "I trust you to be sneaky enough." Midnight nods. "K."

The plane is flying 15 feet above the ocean and is nearing land, it flies in stealth mode, and no outward signs of detection have been noticed.

Jennifer says, "Then make the scout team Midnight and RF. Stay phased and sneaky and they don't have to worry about motion detectors or IR sensors, etc."

3 miles outside of Korea, the plane slows and stops hovering above the ocean, the Pilot states he needs direction of where you would like to touch down.

Valencia takes in a deep breath as the plane nears land.

Midnight says, "If y'can land within a third of a kilometer or so without bein' spotted, that'd be great. If not, don't matter t'me."

Rebound says, "Midnight... got your spots memorized?"

Midnight says, "One in here, one on you."

Random Factor says, "If we could find their security center..."

Rebound gives a thumbs up.

Midnight says, "Jen, you gonna do the disinformation thing? Strike teams 2 an' 3?"

Jennifer nods.

The pilot radios back his understanding and is able to get about 1.5 kilometers away in a secluded area but risks detection any closer.

The scout team finds the following: There are about 15 very well armed men that patrol the perimeter with automatic weapons as well as close quarter weapons, vibroblades, stunners and such. They are lightly armored, little more than flak vests and some armor on the legs but nothing much.

The dock themselves are quiet, with many blind spots as noted in the security system diagram that was provided by the Soma clan. When phasing into the warehouse with the generator there are a number of armaments including surface to air missles, surface to surface missles, mini guns, even a few laser blasters. All loaded and ready for action. The generator is below deck in a sublevel that is guarded by 2 men with automatic weapons like the men outside. All men seem radioed and the generator room houses both the generator as well as the security systems.

Midnight nods at the pilot's report. "K, then... ain't gonna be able to port in here. I'll memorize a spot at my extreme range from the dock, instead...can't hurt.

The communications tower is found in a one story building set next to the generator warehouse.

Midnight says, "K. We gotta disable those SAMs, whatever else we do."

Jennifer nods, "All but two of them."

Midnight looks puzzled.

Rebound hmms. "All but two?"

The plane lands in an open field still in stealth mode.

Jessica says, "One for the communications tower and a backup in case the first misses."

Midnight says, "Wouldn't you wanna use the StS missiles for that?"

Jennifer says, "RF, Midnight, either of you experienced in demo?"

Rebound says to Jenn and Jess. "That job sounds it's up your alley."

Random Factor says, "Sorry, no."

Midnight shakes his head. "Nope."

Midnight frowns. "So... we're plannin' t'split up, then? Who's goin' where?"

Laura looks at the team, "We're here..Will Fire Val and I stay here for now?..or will fire and Val be doing a distraction?"

Jessica nods, "Then one of you will have to guide me to the weapons stores so I can rig them. SAM's have good targetting systems. SAS and generally either shoot and pray or LAWS/HAWS with are IR or optical. A SAM set to HARM will kill the comm tower with little chance of a miss."

Fire looks to the group to hear their decision.

Rebound frowns. "Hate to say it, but sounds like we'll have to split up. One of the twins andsomeone to back her up."

Midnight nods to Rebound. "OK, you're the boss. Jen, you want me or random?" "I'll do whatever you need me to." Valencia comments. A heavy armored transport is also at the facility as well, probably the transport that brought the 15 armed guards.

Jessica mods, "But hopefully we can join up before the assault starts. I can rig the weapons store to radio detonate and a SAM will kill the tower for over a mile."

The pilot states, "Intel states the Submarine is 15 minutes to dock." Midnight nods. "We gotta get movin' then... it'll take us almost that long t'get there. Reeb, who goes after what?"

[To Midnight] Random Factor says, "Can you cloak a tag-a-long? I can't."

Jennifer says, "You, Midnight. You can get us back to Rebound tp'ing in almost zero time, right?"

Midnight nods to Jen. "Yeah, 'f I don't glitch. Works for me... let's go."

Rebound nods. "Ok. Jenn and Midnight go and rig the missiles. Random, Jess, and I will get into attack position and wait. Val and Fire, get as close as you can without getting spotted.

[To Random Factor] Midnight says, "Can't go invisible like you can, but I can cover us both in darkness if things get too hairy... or just port out."

Random Factor nods.

Jennifer says, "See you on the flip side. Rebound, I'll rig the detonator on 1034.6Mhz. If we get hung up making it back you can set the charge off when you need. Want me to rig the genny on the same circuit?"

Fire says, "I can make it from here to the dock in around a minute and a half at top speed, but I will be seen doing that."

Valencia nods, glancing at Fire. "Then I guess we're moving at the same speed everyone else is."

Laura nods, "Fire, it looks like you may be the calvary then.."

Rebound nods to Jennifer, "Yes. Same circuit."

Laura stands up and Gives Val, her friend a long hug, "Be careful Val."

Fire nods to Valencia, "Yeah, thats about right. Maybe we can follow along unti the chances of being spotted are too great and just wait there, I hate being too far away, alot can happen in 90 seconds."

Rebound says, "Random, Midnight, when you scouted did you find a place where we might be able to teleport Fire and Val in secretly?"

Valencia blinks at the unexpected hug and then smiles. "Don't worry, we'll bring 'em back."

Midnight says, "Tell you what... Fire, Val, Laura, y'all come in with me an' Jen and hang out at my outermost port-lock. That'll be a lot closer, y'should be able to charge in fast from there."

Jessica says, "My advice is don't split your force on the dock assault. Once things start happening firepower on site will be more important than sneaking an extra dozen yards."

Random Factor says, "Ya know... I saw an old vid once..."

Valencia also nods to Fire. "I agree, but, nothing you can do."

Random Factor says, "It was a Western. And the cavalry was outnumbered, trapped in a fort..."

Laura nods to Midnight, "I'll do that Midnight." she looks at the rest to make sure her presence is ok.

Random Factor says, "They kept being attacked over and over, and soon there were just a handful of men left alive."

The plane's exit opens to let everyone out.

Rebound says, "I'm thinking that after the missiles are rigged we can find someplace to teleport in Val and Fire that's out of sight. Does that work?"

Random Factor says, "So they took the bodies and lined them up on the walls, propping them up..."

Valencia glances at RF. "That's a depressing story." She nods at Midnight, rising as if to leave.

Midnight nods to Reeb as he heads out with the horde. "Sure, I can do that, leastwise if I don't glitch.

Random Factor says, "The next morning, the indians thought they must have gotten reinforcements somehow, and hesitated..."

Fire nods to Midnight, "Sounds good to me, we need to keep as much firepower close at hand as we can. If you all get into trouble, I don't wanna be a mile away. Also, when it does hit, concentrate your forces on a few of them and take them down quick, the less guns firing at us, the less chance for injuries." He stands up to exit the plane.

Random Factor says, "Long enough that reinforcements DID arrieve."

Jessica says, "We're going to have to take the two guards at the generator warehouse out of action and take them part way with us when we leave of course."

Laura looks at Random, "We don't have reinforcements Sir.." her look is resolved if a bit fearful.

Random Factor says, "I think maybe we could use SOMEWHAT the same tactic."

Random Factor says, "Except with nobody being dead."

Laura looks at Random Factor and nods..before jumping out of the plane following Midnight...

Random Factor says, "Fire, you could light up the sky to look like they were under a full scale attack. Val, could you stretch yourself out to make it look like paratroopers were dropping in?"

Valencia blinks at RF. "How many people do you think I am? I could do one, maybe."

Random Factor says, "If we could distract them, have them shooting at "ghosts"..."

Random Factor says, "But you could do it repeatedly, right?"

Rebound nods. "If you guys can make it convincing, we should try it. Otherwise, it'd be best to stick together, I think."

Random Factor says, "Or maybe to look like a staelth bomber, from a distance?" The pilot radios "5 minutes to docking of submarine"

Fire shrugs, "That could be possible, I guess." Then he looks at Val, "You can stretch, any chnce you can grow too. My fire and if you can change shape and grow, that spells dragon or something to me. Probably a stupid idea, I know."

Random Factor shrugs.

Valencia shakes her head at Fire and RF. "I think this is all overly complicated. Just as confusing to us as them."

Random Factor says, "That could work as well!"

Jennifer says, "Midnight, time for us to start moving."

Laura looks concerned and starts running after Midnight Rebound and the others, "Lets go!" she urges before sprinting forward

Fire hops out of the plane and awaits his ride to the hide point, "You're right miss, we should just do a simple smash and grab."

Rebound says, "Lets get to positions."

Midnight nods. "Yeah. Where _does_ the time go?" He doesn't sprint, though, having no particular intention of sprinting over a kilometer. He heads with the horde to a spot about 300 meters from the sub base, memorizes a location there, and heads in with Jen.

It only takes you about 60 seconds at full sprint to get to the 1 kilo mark.

Jessica says, "We're not in a rush yet. The sub will dock but it's going to be several minutes at least before they're ready to disembark Mr Y and his ward."

Valencia follows after the others, sticking close to Midnight and moving as quietly as she can.

Midnight leads Jen to the arsenal he scouted out before, doing the same sneaky thing he did before.

Jessica says, "follows Midnight being sneaky herself. "Where are the two guards?" she whispers."

Rebound nods. "Good point." After the group reaches Midnights teleport spot, he begins to sneak closer to the docks, hopefully heading in the Random and one of the wins.

Valencia holds once she reaches the teleport point, getting down on the ground and watching the others go forward.

Fire kneels next to Val, staying quiet and awaiting word on the radio he was given for this operation.

The team of Twin1 and Midnight make it to the generator warehouse...

Whereas as the 2nd group gets near the perimeter they are discovered as Random Factor accidentally trips on a half buried log and lands in a dry bush that sounds like trees are breaking. (the perimeter guards will get a pre-12 attack/action.

Unluckily RF has been discovered luckily, it was only by 3 guards..but the guards can be heard speaking rapidly in Korean..

Random Factor says, "Unf!"

The guards begin to fire their rounds off tracer fire lights the air as the ground around RF is peppered, one round finding its way to Random.

The sound of gunfire is heard for miles...

Midnight mutters over the commlink "Well, so much for sneaky"

Rebound says over the radio: "We've been spotted. Midnight, Jess keep working on the missiles. Fire and Val move up. Jenn, Random - we're going to have to board the sub."

Jennifer says, "Forget sneak, we need to get in and out. Can you blast the generator?"

"Christ!" Valencia whispers, though by the tone of her voice she wants to shout it. She gets up as Rebound sends his command, glancing at Fire.

Midnight shrugs. "Sure, I guess." He blasts the generator. (...?)

Fire looks to Val, "They're playing our song. Grab on!" His feet light up as he prepares to take off, saying over the comm, "Fire and V on the way!"

Midnight nods to Jen - "On it. Be back in a flash".

Lights start to roll across the ground as spot lights come to life.

The Submarine is gliding into harbor..

Valencia blinks, not expecting to move that fast. She reaches out, stretching a little bit, to grab Fire's legs. "Not too hot!"

Jennifer says, "Grabs a minigun and ammo belt, a pair of SAMs, and starts working on one of the SAS missiles to expose the payload and rig it for detonation."

Midnight reaches the generator sublevel, bypassing defenses, and blasts the thing.

It goes up in a satisfying explosion.

Midnight returns to Jen.

Fire starts to fly toward the docks area, no moving very fast at all just yet, he says, "V, grab around my chest, its gonna get really hot back there in a second. When you are clear, I will light it up."

RF seems to have taken one hard to the chest as he slumps in the dirt and bush.

Valencia nods, stretching and climbing quickly up Fire's body and clinging to his upper torso. She looks at the ground. "What a mess."

The Generator is blown by Midnight, but the facility is still powered.

Midnight waits for Jen to do her thing and prepares to port the two of them to Rebound when she's done. "I'm gonna be woozy when I get there, so try not t'let 'em shoot me, K?"

Fire lights it up once Val is clear, his feet burning brightly leaving a trail of flame behind them, flying at full speed toward the docks, getting up to 90 mph or so.

Jessica moves to a position where the closest guard that is diring can be seen by her and lashes out with her whip.

The guard goes flying as the energy whip takes him full in the chest..his head hits the ground hard with an audible "Crak!"

The other guards notice Jessica as they see their coworker go flying.

Rebound radios: 'Random is down. I'll check on him as soon as these gaurds are down. Midnight, how are things going on your end?'

Fire and Val can see from above a number of guards coming from around buildings towards teh fire fight.

[To Rebound] Midnight says, "Random's down? Geez, thought he was indestructible or somethin. Generator's down, Gem's doin' her thing, we'll be with you in a bit. Place is still on the grid, though."

Laura goes sprinting, drawing the magnotaser she was given by Kai.

Rebound stretches his arms sending them around a guardhouse and other obstacles as reach reaches for his target, one of the gaurds. He tries to grab the man, and smash him against the building, while trying to keep himself concealed.

Rebounds hand misreaches breaks through a window and gets stuck in a slow moving gear of some random machine...(Hand is stuck for your next segment no damage)

Rebound radios. "Fire, the generator is down, but the lights are still on. If you see power lines on your way in, can you take them out?"

Rebound tries to wrench his arm free. o O ( Jeez, it's stuck in there pretty good. )

Laura Radios as she sprints, "I got the lights! Go save Random Factor!"

Fire radios back, "Sure thing, Stretch." Then hearing Laura, he says, "Okay, boss, good luck and be careful!" Then he says to Val, "Hold on, we are going to come in fast." He angles toward the fire fight.

Valencia nods to Fire, "Alright. When you want me to get off just say the word."

Midnight swears as darkforce is drained away from him by his failure. "Sorry Jen... gotta get there the old-fashioned way. I'm thinkin' maybe we should comandeer that armored transport on the way?"

Jennifer looks at Midnight, "We're walking?"

Midnight nods. "Fraid so." He starts moving towards where the transport was, if it's close enough to make that sensible. Otherwise he just heads towards the battle.

Val and Fire see Rebound pegged by 3 rounds...

Rebound grunts as he gets raked by machinegun fire. His body distorts for a moment, flexing with the impact of each bullet, before the slugs pass through him.

Fire says to Val as they fly in, "When we are close to the ground, hop off and go to work. It gets very hot around me when I do my best work so better not to be holding on when that time comes."

Midnight hears the gunfire and Alex's grunt "Crap! Br-bound, you OK? Comin' fast as I can, dude... (bleepin) glitched!"

"Right." Valencia replies to Fire soberly, watching the machine gun fire on the tower.

Rebound coughs and then spits. He curses over the radio: "I'm sorry... got myself hit. Of all the rotten luck... I'm still up, though."

Jessica yells, "Heroes one and all, hit the deck now." speaking English and using slang that will hopefully conceal the meaning of her words for a few seconds at least from the non native English speaking guards, and throws herself flat.

Midnight isn't quite sure if J2 meant just the ones in the battle, or everybody, but watches J1 for his cue and secures the armored transport if she doesn't stop. He pulls out a set of hotwiring tools as he approaches.

Jennifer unlimbers the minigun and prepares to shoot through such minor obstructions as bushes, trees, buildings, aiming a couple of feet above ground level so she won't kill, merely wound, and waits until the heroes have a chance to drop before laying down a blistering fire across the entire combat zone swinging the minigun to and fro.

One of the guards near Rebound goes down, screams and yells and the sounds of bodies dropping can be heard as the minigun indiscrimantly mows down everything in its path, buildings are ridlled with holes, bushes are chopped two, trees are felled...as are people...From the air, Fire and Val can see 5 of the guards go down in a bloody mess holding their legs.

Valencia's eyes widen as she watches the bombardment. "Holy..." However she collects herself, but keeps hold of Fire until fire ceases.

Jennifer continues firing until the full belt is used up and the minigun spins down to a halt. "I'm going to feel bad about this if we get out of here alive. But without evening the odds I don't think we would have." She doesn't look happy or exhilarated.

The rest of the guards jump for cover..

Rebound blinks, looking up once the gunfire stops. o O ( Jesus... )

Valencia sees that the fire has ceased. "Alright. I'm gettin' off. Give 'em hell." She tells Fire, patting him on the top of the head just in case he can't hear her for whatever reason. She melts into a black mass, dropping off of Fire and moving towards

Rebound while flat on the ground.

Midnight twitches at the sounds of automatic sprayfire and hopes that's what Jessica had in mind... if not, it ain't good for the good guys. "C'mon, c'mon!" he mutters to himself, frustrated. "MOVE!"

Rebound wraps him free hand around his torso like makeshift bandanging. He jogs hunched over to whatever machinery his hand is caught on, as he pulls the slack from his arms to make up the field dressing. Then he tries to pull his hand free of the device.

Fire flies up to near Jessica's position as Val drops off, he nods to Val and says, "You too." Then he lights up with hot glowing flames, his eyes flare out through the eyeholes of his mask. He is hovering just off the ground, his hands burn with flame, "Bow to the Master Ninja of Flaming Death!" He quietly chuckles as he sends a fireball at the nearest conscious guard.

The last standing guard near Rebound screams in fear and pain and drops to the ground trying to put out the fire that was once his clothing.

Fire looks around, "Someone call for the calvary?"

Laura runs at full sprint towards the power converter..she's close.

The interlocking system for the Submarine and the dock can be heard locking into place...

Fire scans the area, noticing that another guard is getting up to threaten the heroes once again, he turns toward the man and levels his fists, flames roaring forth toward the guard, "Why bother with talking no one ever listens anyway, especially when there is a language barrier."

The man getting to his feet is thrown through the side of one of the warehouses the dull thump of body hitting metal and the sound of sheet metal crumpling can be heard from inside the building.

Jennifer tosses one of the SAMs to Midnight, "Take the communications tower. I'll hit the power line pylon. Just copy what I do. Switch the system on with the forward switch and turn the steel handle to release the tube covers. Sight through the aiming system and when you have a steady tone pull the trigger. It's simple." And matching actions to words she fires off the missile.

The power pylon blows showering the area in a magnificent sea of sparks and the complex goes dark..

Midnight blinks, surprised, as he catches the SAM. "Um... OK?" He manages to get the right end of the thing pointed in the general direction of the communications tower and fumbles with the unfamiliar controls as he tries to follow Jen's instructions.

The com tower and everyone in it meets their maker, whether Neo-Sung or any other god they may believe in...at least 2 bodies can be seen flying from the wreckage.

Midnight blinks. "Whoa."

The pilot says over the comlink, "How close are you to extraction, There is a positive on reinforcements coming from the base, ETA 2 minutes.

Midnight shouts back over the commlink "We're (bleep)in' WORKIN' on it! Keep your damn pants on!"

Valencia solidifes back to her normal shape next to Rebound, eyeing him. "Good, you're alright. I think we're clear around here." She turns around as sparks and explosions fly, looking towards the docks. "I guess we better get in position." She says, her lower body beginning to twist and coil tightly. She holds for a moment before releasing and almost flying forward towards the dock.

Jennifer stops on her way towards the vehicle and looks on in horror. "NO! You don't put people near a powerful antenna. What the **** were people doing up there?" Her face is white and drawn.

Rebound now free of the gears reaches over and grabs Random Factor, lifting him over his shoulder in a fireman's carry. He then turns towards the submarine dock and begins to bounce towards it, closing half the distance in a single bound.

The guards get to their feet and try to scramble for cover, holding their position waiting for a target...

Laura continues her full sprint when she sees the power go down, she frowns but then tries to turn and make it for the subdock...

One of the guards see Laura and fires at her.

Thankfully either the darkness or luck, Laura is not hit and the strafing hits the ground behind her.

Fire spots two guards hiding together behind a tree, he yells to the others, "Get the prisoners, I got your backs." Then he propells himself in quick firey flight to just over the guards heads and says, "Surprise, I see you." Then he spreads his arms out unleashing a waves of fire at the two guards.

The two men and the tree are blown like the wind before a hurricane all catching fire...writhing in pain..yes the tree is writhing too..

The tree falls on the men and they are both bleeding, the sound of ribs being crushed can be heard.

Fire winces, looking at his hands, "I am gonna need to get these checked out when I get home. Hope those guys have an EMT on duty, don't think I will have time to check them out myself."

Jessica hurries towards the sub looking out for any guards that can interfere, making sure she can react if she spots any.

Jennifer goes to the vehicle and starts working on the lock and ignition.

Caleb helps Jennifer with the lockpicking..he's no stranger to this...

Jennifer waits for Midnight to jump in and starts to drive to the docks.

Midnight Jumps in and says, "Lets Move it Gem, Reeb may need us!"

Midnight says over the radio, "We're on the way Reeb!"

Jennifer says, "He's ok, Midnight, relatively speaking. He's been wounded but he's got RF and is still active."

Valencia desolidifies as she lands, oozing forward to the edge of the dock that holds the submarine, trying to hide her black mass in an out of the way patch of darkness. Considering the whole place is dark hopefully one of these won't be hard to find.

Rebound closes the distance to the submarine dock in a second jump. He sets down Random, propping him sitting up against a set of barrels that will hopefully keep him out of harms way. He waits there, trying to hide from whoever might be coming out of the submarine.

Fire drops to the ground and takes a knee, his flames dissipating, he means to catch his breath while everyone is out of reach or sight. He says over the radio, "I will continue to hold back any enemies coming from this way, let me know when the hostages are safe and I will break off."

The pilot says "Eta 1 minute and confirmed a hovercopter on the way as well.

Jennifer moves close and finds a spot behind a crate where she can conceal herself.

Midnight attempts to launch himself at the sub while dissolid thinking, "I hope to god this doesn't glitch!"

Midnight flies out of the front of the transport and into the Submarine...

Fire stands back up from kneeling and flames again engulf his form, he stands there burning the ground beneath him and waits for any of the other guards to step out and challenge him. He says over the radio, "Hovercopter, eh? I might be able to take that down, but lets not find out if we can manage it guys and gals."

The guards continue to aim at Laura.

A piercing scream cuts through the air as the sound of gunfire sounds off...over the radio the scream is echoed and the whispered gurgling words "...tell him I tried......" are heard.

Rebound radios: "Laura! Fire... you're trained as a paramedic, right? So am I. Let's hope we're not to late." Rebound springs from his hiding place in the direction of Laura's scream.

Midnight can be heard shouting epithets and such, sound of bodies hitting metal, and the top hatch starts to open...

Fire radios, "Yes, Stretch I am a paramedic too. I will meet you there." <Use half held to half move toward scream? 12" flight

Fire takes off in flight, soaring quickly toward Laura, nearly reaching her. His flames flare brightly, giving away how pissed off he is.

Jessica moves to the opening top hatch of the sub ready to enter as soon as there's room. Jennifer gets into position to cover her sister's back.

Valencia hesitates for a moment but moves forward towards the hatch of the sub, trying to flow inside even before it's open all the way.

Rebound lands next to one of the gunmen and tries to flatten him with a single punch!

The man is hit and flies to the side stunned..

Valencia flows around the twins, her black mass slipping between the hatch and the rest of the sub with ease. She falls down the shaft into the submarine itself, a featureless black blob that spreads out on the floor.

What you see inside are a number of bodies a glowing blue fist is just seen moving at speed as a body is thrown against the back bulwark.

Another body is heard hitting the narrow insides of the Submarine as Midnights voice is heard yelling, "Lets get the hell out of here Mr. Y!"

Yutaka is seen inside holding Sakura close, she is crying frightened...

Fire lands next to Laura and his eyes flare angrily, his fists flame up and a massive fireball is cast at the remaining gunamn threatening the position, "Anyone ever tell you it isn't nice to shoot a lady. Lets see how you like feeling pain!"

The last Guard is enveloped as the fireball carrys him in the air and throws him against a building, this time the building doesn't give, but the guard's body does.

Fire kneels next to Laura as the last of the gunman is vanquished for now. He starts to look her over and take a damage report, to help out when Rebound gets ready. "Stay with us, ma'am, please stay with us."

She's taken 2 to the chest both bullets going clean through she is drowning in her own blood, and another bullet seems lodged in her hip."

Yu see's the blob hit the floor and jumps back with Sakura, "Midnight, its not over yet, they just threw something down here.."

Fire says to Rebound, "Stretch, this ain't good, we have a slim chance to stabilize her. She needs a hospital and soon, though." <reports also what he just found out from prelim check.>

Valencia reforms back to her normal shape, taking off her mask and looking at Yutaka with fallen features. "You don't have time. Get up there and see her, now. I can take Sakura."

Jessica calls down through the part open hatch, "Mr Y, that's a friendly. Now get your butt in gear. We have hostiles approaching and wounded to tend to."

Rebound says, "Got it... we'll have to prep her to move. I think I can stretch into some kind of hammock -- can you fly us out if I do?"

Yu looks confused, "Val?..see who?..what are you talking about?" he looks up and nods still confused. jumps to the ladder and is out in a heartbeat...

Sakura cries and runs to Val, Midnight hears the radio chatter and flies out through the hull..

Rebound radios: "Do we have them?"

Rebound crouches down beside Laura and works quickly with Fire to try and stabilize their patient.

Valencia picks up Sakura with one arm, holding her close. She feels very soft at the moment, the weight of the child enough to form an indent. She starts to climb out as quickly as she can.

Jennifer gets the vehicle and brings it to the dockside so Laura can be moved into it once she is stabilised.

Yu looks around and see's the Vehicle and runs over to it.."What was Val talking about I don't have time for what?" he says to whichever twin is driving.

Fire starts to work with Rebound, but something just doesn't seem quite right as they work...

Jennifer looks at Mr Y. "Laura's been injuried pretty badly. Over there." She points towards the site where Fire and Rebound are working.

Valencia moves out of the submarine and starts running away, trying to get Sakura to safety even as her features betray her anguish.

Rebound's look to Fire is nothing short of frantic. o O ( We're losing her! )

Yu looks at Jen and wordlessly turns to run towards Fire Rebound and the fallen Laura..mid step he blows his cover and doesn't care a blue glow a soft popanother one and another and he is next to Rebound and he screams "Laura!...Laura?..." he looks at Fire and Rebound a questioning look in his eye..the question in his eyes..

Fire looks to Rebound, "Keep trying, Stretch...Just keep trying. Everyone else, start to evac, we got no time!" He continues to lean over Laura, trying to keep her breathing, pulling his mask off to do CPR and rescue breaths when needed.

Yu looks at Rebound.."Rebound?.." his voice on the edge of dispair and panic..

Valencia keeps running, holding Sakura tighter and lowering her head to the girl, trying not to look at Laura even as she approaches the others.

Midnight flies on high and says into the radio, "The reinforcements are here! I can see the Hovercopter coming too!"

Jennifer calls over, "Can she be moved? We're on minus time and counting."

Rebound looks back to Yutaka with a sort of wide-eyed combination of surprise and horror visible through his goggles. He turns away and continues working, desperately trying to help her. The task has changes from trying to stabilize her to trying to revive Laura. "Yu... talk to her."

Jessica goes and picks up an automatic weapon from one of the downed guards. "Midnight, how many?"

Rebound calls back. "Negative, she's..." He stops mid-sentence, feeling for her pulse. He swears and reaches for a hypo from one of his belt pouches.

Fire continues CPR, unable to speak at the moment, concentrating more on reviving the woman, than anything else.

Yu nods his voice fantic, "Lau..lau, don't you give up on me...I'm here, I'm safe, so is Sakura, don't you give up...I love you Lau..don't give up."

Laura's eyes refocus for a moment on Yu's face and a soft smile tainted by the blood that runs down her cheek from her lips comes across her face and she whispers in a gasping breath, "Itsumademo Ai Suru yo.."

Jessica gets out of the vehicle, "Then I guess I have to make a little more time for us. Get out when you can. Don't wait for me. I'll catch up later." and also goes to get a weapon.

The death rattle escapes her lungs as her vision fades and the light of life dies in her eyes, Even as Fire continues to work on her..

Tears run down Yu's face freely and he tries to disbelieve this is happening.

Midnight reports, "at least 30 men and the helicopter!"

Jessica braces and sets on the helo switching the weapon to full-auto.

Midnight flies down to the Vehicle, "Get your asses in here, we're going now!" he yells at everyone and no one...

Valencia sobs once loudly, her mouth closing tightly as she tries to keep the emotion trapped inside her body, at least for a little while longer. She moves towards the transport.

The roar of the transport's engines comes to life as Midnight puts it into gear, "Get your asses in here Gem!" he yells..

Rebound slumps back into a sitting position, stunned.

Midnight's voice is angry, his normal reaction to fear, "Get Your F'in asses in this vehicle now Girls or I'll shoot you myself!"

Jessica tells Midnight, "If that helo is armed you'll never make it to the plane. Get going. I'll take the helo down. It's the only chance you have."

Valencia gets into the transport, sitting and bowing her head so that her hair cascades down around her face, hiding it from view.

Fire stands, "Its time to go people, we can't stay here any longer. Get in the vehicle, I will stay here to get Gem out and help with the chopper."

Rebound looks around, sort of stunned...

Yu scoops up Laura into his arms, something in his eyes die as well, to be replaced by a cold angry fury. He holds her close as he doesn't know where the extraction point is.

The 2 transports are seen, their lights growing brighter and brighter about 200 yards from the docks..

Midnight growls, "(bleep) great... Rebound, snap out of it -- we need you (bleep) here!"

"Let's just go..." Valencia murmurs. "I'm not gonna let this little girl die...please..."

Jessica and Jennifer start running back to the weapons warehouse, There's something dead looking about their faces, emotionless.

Yu glows blue and pops again and again until he is inside the transport in the back. (Val where are you and Sakura?)

Rebound blinks. "Random!... He's by the docks -- I'll get him."

Fire flares up with flames and hovers slightly off the ground, "Move people, move." He doesn't get into the transport though, seems he has something else in mind at the moment.

Midnight says, "Like hell you will... get on the transport. I'll 'port over, grab him, then port back to you."

For Midnight, it's a slight lie of omission -- he doesn't mention that he plans to returns to help Fire and the twins after he fetches Random Factor.

Yu lays Laura's ruined body on the floor of the transport and lays flak jackets over her body.

Rebound gives Midnight a long stare before reluctantly climbing onto the transport.

Valencia doesn't say anything to Yutaka. She simply continues to hug Sakura and wait.

Yu wipes the blood from Laura's cheek and kisses it gently as he whispers, "Ore mo, Itsumademo, Aisuru yo.." he wipes his tears as his suit is replaced by his armored form.

Jennifer and Jessica race into the warehouse. A few seconds later they come out carrying equipment. Trails of smoke fly as a SAM seeks out the helo and a HAW missile is fired at the leading transport.

Midnight ports away and returns a moment later with Random Factor in his arms. He help load the SGG leader onto the transport.

The Helo explodes and crashes to the ground, its momentum carrying it serveral hundreds of yards before coming to a flaming stop, the transport acts as if it hit a ramp as its front end explodes sending it end on end.

Fire continues to burn brightly, watching as teh missiles rip through the sky to their targets. The second transport swerves and avoids hitting the first transport that glows with the fires inside.

Yu glows blue and Pops out..

Almost before the wreckage of the helo hits the ground another HAW is racing towards the second transport and the distinctive sound of a minigun snarls as the area around the shattered first transport is 'sanitized'.

Simply said there are no survivors..

Yu stands suddenly next to Jen watching the deadly havoc and he says.."Let us go.."

Rebound radioes: "Guys -- let's get out of here. We are not leaving without anyone."

Jennifer looks at Mr Y with empty eyes, "Go where? After this, where do I go?"

Midnight tries to teleport from the transport out to where the twins are...

Yu shakes his head at Jennifer.."Come..lets go." his eyes as empty as hers..

...and after succeeding, Midnight asks, "What's the (bleep) hold up?"

Yu looks at Midnight and says, "Take her," he points at Jessica, suddenly he puts a hand around Jennifer's waist and with a blue glow..and a pop..They are in the transport.

Fire drops to the ground, as the reinforcements are now dealt with. He makes his way into the transport, pulling his mask back into place. He sits down in the transport and lowers his head, trying not to look at Laura's covered form on the floor.

The twins simply drop the remaining weapons where they stand and start to walk back to the vechicle before Yutaka and Midnight act. Behind them the warehouse explodes as they detonate the jury-rigged demolition charge.

Yu releases Jennifer and returns to Laura he sits cross legged cradling her head talking to her in Japanese.

Yu looks up at Everyone and No one, "Laura wants to go.." he says softly..

Midnight ports Jessica back to the transport if she'll allow it. He'll insist on it, to make sure the getaway is a quick as possible.

"I'm so, so sorry..." Valencia whispers, finally looking up at Yutaka with tear choked eyes.

Fire sits quietly on his seat, sure he has seen a lot of people die in his line of work, but 'it never gets any easier'.

Jessica doesn't stop Midnight from teleporting her. She looks to be operating virtually on autopilot at this time.

Yu looks up at Val a soft smile crosses his face, at his friend..shaking his head,..."She..she's Ok..she'll be ok.." he says.

Rebound sits quietly, entirely lost in thought. o ( Blood pressure was low, breathing was weak, but I've seen just as bad -- we should be been able to save her. What did I do wrong? )

Valencia draws in a sharp breath, as if Yu's response was one of the worst things he could have said. Her look takes on a profound sense of pity and she bows her head again.

Sakura looks up finally from Val's cradling arms and looks at Laura, shock and horror come over her face and she says "Nee-san?..." she looks at Yutaka and asks, "Yutaka-san..Is Laura...dea..." but before she can finish, Yu shakes his head, "No!.." he interrupts before she can say it, "No..she's just resting Sakura-chan.." Sakura begins to weep and turns her head back to Val.

The Transport begins to Move as Midnight drives it quickly to the waiting plane...

Valencia places a hand on the back of Sakura's head, slowly stroking her hair to give whatever meager comfort to the child she can.

Jennifer thinks . o O (If I hadn't been holding back she would be okay. I screwed up. Again. And it would have been so easy. It's what I was made for afterall.)

Yu takes Laura's limp body in his arms and pops outside, he sees the transport and he looks in the seating area and teleports inside..

Midnight phases into the back area and says, "Lets go..lets get the hell out of this (bleep) country!"

Rebound also, (spoofed) on autopilot stretches out of the truck and into the plane..almost in one motion.

Fire shakes his head as he rides along in the quiet, speaking quietly to himself, "I just don't understand it...we had a chance, not a good chance, but a better chance than some I've seen."

Midnight softens, "Come on..lets go.." he puts his arms around RF to carry him out...

Random Factor says, "Mmmmmmn. Wot happened?"

Jessica replies to RF with just one word, "-bleep-"

Random Factor looks rather disgusted and rolls his eyes as he realizes he was knocked loopy again.

The atmosphere in the transport is what one could call somber..

Valencia gets up, moving out of the transport with Sakura towards their way out.

Fire gets up from his seat, walking to the plane. He shakes his head, still keeping it low, "I don't understand, we had a chance, what went wrong. We had a better chance than some I've seen..." He seems to be speaking quietly to himself."

Midnight see's RF back awake and unlike his normal sarcastic tones, he says to RF, "Lets go, the Planes waiting."

Random Factor frowns and nods, not saying a word. He noticed people walking out as he awoke, so he's not sure if anyone is missing. He saw the child, and Yu... but they're talking about what went wrong...

Valencia climbs aboard the plane with Sakura in her arms, not looking back in the slightest.

Yu looks up from Laura he is again sitting on the floor with her, without the flak jackets on her it is obvious how bad the injuries are..her chest is blown wide open and her left leg sits in an unnatural position..

Valencia tries to make sure that Sakura's eyes are covered so she doesn't have to see.

Yu takes off his shirt and puts in on Laura's still and silent form.

Fire sits down on the plane again lost in thought. He has blood all over his hands, face and most of the rest of his body, but he just sits there quietly.

Random Factor winces as he enters. He kneels next to Yu and puts a hand on his shoulder. "I'm so sorry."

Despite his earlier words, tears run down his face leaving tracks as they fall upon Laura's forehead.

Yu turns to RF, and shakes his head.."She's fine.." his voice breaks up as he speaks, "She'll be fine, she just needs some rest.."

Midnight looks at the body, at Yutaka, back at the body. Shakes his head, shrugs, gets on the plane.

The twins walk onto the plane and buckle up in adjacent seats without saying a word.

Valencia flinches as she listens to Yutaka, turning away from him slightly.

The pilot turns the engines and takes off, remaining on a nape of the earth heading for Nara Japan.

Random Factor speaks very quietly. "Maybe we should mover her to the back where she'll be... more comfortable."

Yu nods to Random, "That sounds like a nice idea.." he smiles and picks her up moving her to the back, as he carries her he can be heard speaking to her in Japanese.

Midnight gives Random an "Are you INSANE?" look, but doesn't respond. He sits down next to Alex.

SPOOFED Alex has a look of confusion on his face..as if he cannot understand what has just happened.

Random Factor leans over and says softly to Midnight: "He's obviously not able to deal with this right now, but the girl shouldn't see her like that.

It is a quick and quiet journey back to Japan, the plane lands in the hangar and Kai Soma is the first to greet the group, there is a look of concern on his face as he greets the first to exit the Plane.

Midnight steps off the plane, glad to be away from the bizarre pretending-she's-not-dead nutziness.

Kai says to Midnight, "Laura Garrity was injured?..is she safe?..and my daughter?"

Valencia wants to get Sakura off the plane so she rises quickly, heading for the exit. She looks at Kai, her face scrunching slightly. "We should have listened to you. I'm so sorry." She says quietly.

Midnight shrugs. "Well, she ain't in danger, that's for damn sure. Sakura's OK."

Kai looks at Valencia with a questioning look..and asks Midnight, "What did she mean?"

Midnight says, "Ain't sure what she meant 'bout listening to you. But she prob'ly meant she's sorry Laura's dead. An' she can probably speak for herself."

Kai blinks.."Dead?..The Heir?" he turns to Valencia and offers to take Sakura from her.."Is this true?" his voice full of disbelief...

Midnight shrugs. "Depends on who you ask."

"Laura should have stayed behind like he wanted. She should've stayed in the plane like she said she would. I should've had her back like I said I would." Valencia replies, almost mumbling. She hands Sakura over to Kai. "Take care of her.."

Midnight nods to V. "OK... that's 1."

Kai takes Sakura and holds her close..he whispers to her and take her away.

An Elder Soma comes forth...

Soma looks at the two and says "The Heir is dead then?" his voice is hard..and difficult to place the emotion.

Midnight nods. "Yeah, pretty much."

Valencia bows her head as Soma comes forth, nodding slowly.

Rebound comes down off of the plane, walking with heavy steps, and with one arm wrapped around his torso as makeshift bandaging.

Soma nods, "Sakura is safe?..and Mr. Yamaoka?"

There are medical stations waiting as well and a meddroid comes up to Rebound, "LET ME ASSIST YOU SIR." it says.

Midnight looks up as Rebound comes down and meets his eyes briefly, sighs once, turns back to face the Elder Soma. "Yeah, they're OK. I think Mr Y's wigged out, but it's probly just shock. Reeb here's pretty close t'dead himself, if you got doctors or someth -- right. OK, then." (The last was M being interrupted by the meddroid)

Valencia nods to Soma. "They are safe, but, they aren't well."

The twins step off the plane and walk to the side without saying a word to anyone.

Rebound nods and lets his arm unravel from his sides. He lets the droid check him out.

Midnight looks the old man over. "So, here's the thing. Extraction's over. We got some stuff t'work out. So, 'less you got somethin' in particular you need t'know, I'm thinkin' we'd appreciate some privacy. That OK with you?"

Soma nods to Valencia, and looks at Midnight, "You are free to go, the Soma Clan thanks you for your help." he says stiffly to Midnight, not used to such behavior from anyone.

Midnight nods. "Great. The Soma Clan is welcome, and all that. Talk t'the Soma Clan later. Thanks."

The Meddroid begins to work on Rebound stapling and infusing organic compounds to aid in healing, adding blood and other lost fluids..

Valencia glances at Midnight, narrowing her eyes slightly before turning back to Soma. "I'd like to stay, I don't want to go home and be worrying about Yutaka and Sakura."

Midnight turns back to Alex. "Dude... you gonna be OK?"

Soma looks at Valencia, and nods, "Sakura will remain with our family here..perhaps where she always have been..." he says.."You of course would be an honored guest Miss Valencia, the heir spoke highly of you often."

Rebound nods, wincing as the robot works on him.

Midnight looks his brother over carefully, then shrugs and nods. "K." He's unconvinced, but this is hardly the place to talk about it.

"Thank you." Valencia almost whispers before turning to Rebound and Midnight to make sure that the former is healing ok.

Jessica comes over to Rebound after a minute or so, "You going to be okay?"

Rebound nods. "Yeah... it only hurts when I... well..." He looks to the medical droid. "I could maybe use another 10 ccs of painkiller..."

The Meddroid says, "of course sir.." and pumps him with another 10 CCs

Midnight chuckles, not at all humorously. "...and maybe a flask of really crappy Scotch."

Soma looks up the ladder and finally decides to go up to face Yutaka.
