The Superheroes Steel and Justicar violently apprehended a small child earlier this week. The child has suffered a life filled with misfortune. An orphan and unusually small for his age, his existence was a relentless struggle to find enough food to eat. But, his troubles only got worse. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was doused by a chemical spill that transformed him into the three-foot cat he is today.
Branded a freak and pelted with rocks, the other children drove him from the orphanage and out into the street where he was forced to scavenge left-overs to sustain himself. Without guidance, he had only a few lovingly kept story books to pass the time as he huddled in the small cardboard box he called home, his favorite being the acclaimed story of 'Puss in Boots' which he understandably emphasized.
One day, when the troubles of the world became too much for this poor orphan to bear, he retreated into a fantasy world where he was the hero, stealing from the rich to help those in need. And so, this poor kitten stumbled into the Colonial Bank. His attempted robbery the last in a long line of quiet desperate calls for help. But, there his fantasy came crashing to an end as he was chained like a rapid dog by passing superheroes and locked up with hardened criminals twice his size.
Local elementary and junior high students have started a 'Save Boots' campaign to try to bring public attention to this orphaned child's sad plight and the need for more aggresive environmental regulation.
