Bernie Sham: "Good Evening, Colonial Bay. The results are in and Judge Victor Cangelosi will be the next mayor of Colonial Bay. It was a close election though, with Bilbo, the super monkey coming in a close second. Third place belonged to Miss Briana Karala, the self made entrepeneur. Current Mayor, Buddy Barnewll fell all the way to 4th place. His campaign was mired by allegetations of mafia and triad connections.
It was a strong showing by the monkey, and it suprised many analysts. Exit polls showed that Bilbo clearly had the support of many of the younger voters. Perhaps in the next election, he would have a greater opportunity to win. Miss Karala did exceptionally well, considering that she tossed her hat in the ring later than the other candidates. She also had less campaign funds and advertisement than any other candidate. Judge Cangelosi boasted the support of Alyssa Waterman and super heroine, Celestra.
The results of the election are: Victor Cangelosi: 32% Bilbo: 28% Briana Karala: 25% Buddy Barnwell: 13% Write In: Random Factor: 2%
It is reported that about 67 percent of eligible voters voted. It appears that this year's election garnered more voters than last time when only 43 percent of the voters voted. Analysts explain that Bilbo's phenomenal showing is the result of a record number of voters between the age of 18 and 21 voting and the large amount of sentient monkeys voting.
Judge Victor Cangelosi will be inducted as Mayor after New Years. His term will begin at the end of January. We will now go to Barbara Wawa who is at the Serafino's, where the Judge's victory celebration is taking place.."
