"The scoring started early, as the Cardials scored on a fumble by Wilson, the freshman from Arkansas. They got another lucky break when they drew a holding flag on 4th and inches, using the momentum shift to score on a trick play.

Not to be outdone. Coach Kaen reached deep into the playbook, recalling the Spurrier era, trick play after trick play, to even things up at 14-14 at the end of the first. The second quarter was all about defense, a total combined stat of 105 yards rushing. Mickelson was rocked by this Cardianal laying him out, but South Carolina recovered for a field goal. 17-14 USC. The very next drive, Mikelson threw a pick six that shifted the momentum back in favor of the Cardinals. Only for them to fumble on their own 40 yard line, Nielson running it back to tie things up. -cut to a video of the fumble in slow motion then back to the game-

Late in the fourth, tied at 35, going to overtime, this play -cut to video- by the Cardinals made sure that the game wouldn't end in regulation, this diving catch that ensured the first down, running out the clock.

Overtime. The Cardinals score first, a passing play. Gamecocks tie it up, second OT, Cardinals throw away a fourth and goal. USC kicks the winning field goal, collects $350,000, donated to charity. Coach Klein said after the game, that he is proud of his team, and they can win the national title next year.
