... while in international news todays one of Colonial Bay City's better known meta heroines provided free entertainment for crowds in Paris. The following was recorded by Mrs Selma Wilzburger from Golden Sands while on holiday in France.
The screen shows the Eiffel Tower in the background of a rather shaky hand-held shot of a man in a loud shirt and cowboy hat grinning and waving at the camera. There's the sound of Paris as well; traffic noise, car horns, shouting and laughter. The camera shot suddenly jerks upwards just after louder shouts are heard to show Silver Spider dangling from the bottom arch of the Eiffel Tower by a chain fastened around her ankles. She has more chains wrapped around her secured with large padlocks and is also wearing a straightjacket.
Silver Spider jerks and swings back and forth as she struggles with the restraints. Then the straightjacket buckles snap loose and she's falling free. A cry of of concern comes from the crowds around the Eiffel Tower at the sight, followed by clapping and cheering as Silver Spider shoots out a webbing line to swing across to a leg of the structure.
Silver Spider can be seen clinging to the Eiffel Tower high above the street as she makes a call on her PDA. Less than ten seconds later Wasp zooms into view to hover beside Silver Spider. After a brief, unheard discussion, Silver Spider is carried away by Wasp.
The screen image returns to Bernie Sham in the CBN Newsroom. "Is this a new trend? We have long been grateful to the heroes of Colonial Bay City for saving us from the threats that pop up with distressing regularity. Are we in the future to be amused and delighted by their entertaining antics also? Well done Silver Spider anyway. You're brought joy and laughter to thousands today. Viva la France."
