The much anticipated opera _Euridice_ by Bizet of Earth-1058 opens this week at the Colonial Bay Civic Centre Theatre, despite allegations from certain groups that this represents a cultural contamination. A spokesman for Art and Humanity says, "This sort of thing is every bit as bad for Earth arts as the alien contamination we saw following first contact. If unchecked, it could water down or completely eclipse thousands of years of our own cultural heritage." But Maria Pangarcia, musical director of the Colonial Bay Opera, disagrees. "Contact with other cultures always enriches the arts, and we are lucky to be able to put on a work written by a musical genius whose life was so tragically cut short on our world." Renowned international soprano Heloise Choisy will be singing the title role, a considerable coup for the small if innovative opera company.
