Today in Rome, Italian prosecutors and the United Earth Marshall Service announced the end of a five year old mystery at a joint press conference. Five years ago, Italian prosecutor Giorgio Spada was assassinated, but the killer eluded arrest until yesterday. During the press conference, United Earth representative George Lawrence announced that the killer turned herself last week. He identified her as the Colonial Bay superhero Sable, aka Regan Kirby. According to Lawrence:

"Ms. Kirby surrendered to authorities last week, and is cooperating fully with our investigators. She's confessed to her role in the Spada murder, and in twelve other previously unsolved crimes. Due to her service as a superhero, and in return for her assistance in certain law enforcement efforts, we are not seeking any jail time - though we will be keeping a close eye on her activities."

The lack of prison time comes as a shock to some people and leads to speculation as to which cases Ms Kirby will assist. Sources in law enforcement believe Spada's assassination was ordered by Next Generation, and that Kirby will be asked to help with efforts to break the criminal organization.
