"I'm Barbara Wawa. The tragic results of the day before Election Day where over 125 people died in Devastator's failed scheme to blow up Colonial Bay by using the Reina Roja as a giant bomb still remain with us. Rescue teams dredge the Chesapeake, searching for additional bodies from the tragedy. It is likely that no one will ever know the true number of casualties, or who many of the homeless victims transformed into machines by the Devastator's assembly line were."
"Several activist groups are calling for the arrest of Imaginary Girl, calling for her incarceration after the massive impact she delivered to the boat from shore, after which point the boat angled sharply upward, it's entire rear shorn off, and quickly sank to the bottom. It is believed that this impact and the subsequent sinking of the boat cost the lives of most of Danzinger's homeless captives who did not escape."
"In other news, Tom Schoffnaus,the Republican Candidate claims that he has won the election, despite a posthumous landslide for his supervillain opponent! Demanding that all votes for the dead be thrown out, his supporters are suing the city for his immediate victory, as he had the vast majority of the remaining votes. The Democrats, disillusioned by the revelation of their candidate as a supervillain, are launching a countersuit, saying that their party is not Martin Danzinger, and that therefore, Danzinger's deputy mayor candidate should be appointed without delay. "
The City Council has decided to forego both claims. A special election has been scheduled for December First, in which Tom Schoffnaus will likely run against an unknown candidate."
Barbara Wawa pauses, and continues. "Rumors of the involvement of Professor Zachary Zimm, the nefarious criminal mastermind known as Doctor Double Z, who can even influence events from behind prison walls, continue to pour into our studio. It is believed that Zimm built the Annihilator battlesuit out of Jason Danzinger's wheelchair years ago, and was waiting for the right moment to release it upon a hapless population. Jason Danzinger is currently in an undisclosed location undergoing psychological evaluations."
Barbara Wawa pauses. "We would like to take one minute of silence for all of Devastator's victims. Please stand by." The screen goes dark for sixty seconds.
Barbara's face reappears. "When we return, more on stock market results, who is buying up land in Harrisburg, and discovery of a thirty six foot dollhouse made of ice in Northern Alaska."
The screen shifts to an ad for Toenailbook, "What you use because all of the other body parts already have their own internet sites for blogging and texting. Dare to be different. Toenailbook."
