A group of terrorists struck yesterday in the Bridge End district. Lunch-time traffic was disrupted by a sabotaged traffic light and while waiting for the light to change a large crowd of pedestrians was attacked by a half-dozen armed and armoured men firing knock-out gas grenades. A shot of dishevelled civilians being treated by paramedics and given oxygen. The men were confronted by the valiant super-heroines Michelle and Variable who fought the terrorists off despite the efforts of a sniper on a nearby roof. File still photographs of Variable and Michelle are followed by a picture of the office building the sniper used as a nest. None of the terrorists were captured but one of their vehicles was abandoned during their escape. Cut to a shot of an armoured truck trailer surrounded by a police cordon and forensic officers. The pedestrians were shaken but unharmed and were treated on the scene by ambulance crews. A young local woman, Regan Kirby was however hit by the sniper fire and rushed to St. Winifred's where she was reported to be in a serious but stable condition. A shot of the front of the hospital is followed by a close up on Barbara

This incident is very similar in nature to a series of global attacks in which random groups of civilians have been abducted, the exact purpose of the attacks is unclear but none of the captives has yet been recovered. This is Barbara Wawa for CBN news.
