Character Origin
Parham found out about his ability on a normal Tuesday, at a normal dinner table. His grandfather, grandmother, father and mother were sitting at the table along with him. Things started to go wrong when the three years old Parham was listening to his grandfather argue with his father, and to him, his dad seemed right. His grandfather cursed and glared. Parham gritted his teeth and stared at his glass of water angrily. Before his wide, unbelieving eyes and everyone else's, the glass rose and hit his grandfather's cheekbone, shattering. After that incident with his mother's father, his mother kept telling him how bad his power was and how unlucky she was to get a son sent by the devil to punish her; the only thing that saw him through that period of being molested by his mother was his father's supporting hand that was there sometimes, although he claimed to be busy most of the time.
Personality
Parham is emotional, do to the unstable life he lived in his childhood. He cares about his friends, and tends to socialise a lot with others, and be fond of working with them. He also likes to show others that he cares about them, but often finds himself making hasty decisions based on his momentary feelings, rather than logic. He is scared of killing others, again due to his childhood. If his emotional side is not aroused, he usually thinks before acting, and takes every step forwards towards his target carefully, be it a goal in his life, something he wants to buy, or a friend he wants to help. He is honest, and sometimes too trusting, although he is trying to change, because of having been tricked a few times here and there.
Life History
When he went to school at his father's insistance, he met Reza Cedash, who became a detective when he grew up, a rather active and unlucky one. He left his home, having learnt skills to aid him after being graduated from highschool, and without going to the university. Having nothing to do, he set out to, as he has said now and then in the media, see to it that no other children will have a childhood like his own. Although he has admitted that this goal is a global one and he can't be everywhere at the same time, he's promised himself at least to satisfy himself, if he doesn't succeed in satisfying others. After learning of a Wolfguard assassination by hacking into their computer systems, he found himself pursuing the matter, ending up at Colonial Bay city, where he managed to save the target, and now he's on the hunted list of the Wolfguard. After the incident, he decided to stay in this city full of other people like him (as he had found out) and get a life in which his bitter memories of childhood will have no place.
Powers
Parham can gather his telekinetic power around him in a way that it would defend him against energy or physical (E.G. objects being thrown at him) attacks. Since he has to push the attack aside with his mind, keeping up this effort will tire him a bit each time he's attacked. Telekinesis is his most-worked-on power since he found out he had it. He's tried to improve his power by moving objects around, lifting them as high as he could while suspending them in midair. While he was under pressure by his family, his resolve didn't weaken and he held on tightly to his telekinesis. After a while, his self-training included reaching into locks with his mind to unlock them, repairing his computer without opening it, typing on his keyboard from afar, and actions that required more care and delicacy to be done. While he broke a lot of computers, keyboards, locks, and glasses, he still thinks it was worth the loss. Having become almost good at fine manipulation, he started trying to focus his power by staring at a point and directing his energy towards it. Some time later, he tried to do it without staring at the spot. He succeeded. Since the time he accidentally found out about his powers, he was afraid of killing someone with them. That fear and what his mother had told him made him find a way to remove the risk from himself and not kill anyone. It was at a time of great stress when he was attacked by a streetgang member on a ledge that he did it the first time. He inadvertently reached into his chest with his mind, and squeezed the lungs slightly. The opponent went instantly limp, which allowed him to stay alive and unscathed. After that, having found out that this is in fact possible, he started training himself on dolls, breaking many.
Skills
Before Parham even knew he was telekinetic, he was fond of working with computers. Every day, and most hours of the day, he'd spend his time at his computer, analysing, learning, creating and learning again. Because of his liking of learning on his own, there came a time when he put his skills to work, and learned to hack into computer systems. This was a very useful skill to aid his friend (Detective Reza Cendash), and hence he decided to help his childhood friend unravel some mysteries. Another of the skills that he has developed by working with his friend, who in turn worked with many others, is teamwork. It is in his blood, rather than something he's learned. He likes working with others more than doing things alone, because he believes being together makes activities more intresting, interactive, and better in the long run. Not only did he help his friend, Reza helped him too. Thanks to him, Parham knows some things about some gangs, organisations, groups of people, and some of those that have a record with the CBPD for previous crimes. He's also learned how to hide in one spot and try not to be seen, which almost saved him in an encounter with Wolfguard. His father being Spanish helped him learn Spanish to some extent, completing his set of superheroic skills.
Parham is fond of learning. He has even learned things from his mother, who he doesn't talk about often. Since his mother kept calling him a "freak" from the day she saw his power even though there were a lot of people already with superpowers all around the world, he started developing his power, and also his resistance to the world outside his head. Every time he wants to resist the world outside, he goes into a place he's made for himself inside his head, and sits there, unaware of pain, or any emotions.
Disadvantages
No one is perfect... not even superheroes. Parham has people who like him, and those who hate him. Some time ago, his friend Reza found out about Wolfguard. Parham was utterly amazed at this new information: lots and lots of people like him not only existed, but they were being made now and then, and so he decided to look further. He couldn't make contact or find any information, just that they had assassinated many, as the police record said, but nothing traced back to Wolfguard, exactly. After another attempt, he finally managed to find the location of what he thought was their only base and break into it electronically. He was thrown out of the system immediately because he wasn't really paying attention to what he was doing, but there was one thing he saw before the connection was closed: "Tonight, 8:00, Colonial Bay City." He got to the city before the assassin did, and through a series of events, found out who the target was. He was someone with superpowers, clearly, and they were going to kill him in his sleep. Hiding behind a wall, he focussed on a glass beside his bed inside the house, which mysteriously moved, and shattered on the floor, waking up the target. A fight broke out and the assassins emerged victorious, but things were not so simple. Just then, those he later realized were the real Wolfguard agents confronted the assassins. It was too late for him to run, but he tried. These were the real professionals, and soon all of the assassins were dispatched, making him an immediate target on the run. He was attacked and he fought back for survival for a while, but then, the agents, as if not considering him a real threat, disappeared. It seemed, however, that their leaders considered him a threat and from then on, he's been hunted by Wolfguard, for simply being a witness. The fact that he has helped police on many occasions and that he has appeared a lot of times in the media, however, has made him a public face, and that in turn always helps the Wolfguard find him. Other than that, he's really emotional due to his unstable childhood and loneliness, so he is known frequently to make emotional hasty decisions. He also cares about his only friend during that agonising period of being totally lost, detective Cendash. Due to the incident through which he found out about his ability, he is also against killing.
History
- On December 14, 2058, he met the metahumans of Colonial Bay who welcomed him, among them being Jennifer and Jessica (A.K.A Amber and Azure), Lorelei, and later that day met Olivia (A.K.A. Diamond).
- On December 17, 2058, he witnessed the birth of Imaginary Girl, saving the bus in which the ggirl who gave her birth was located, but letting IG take all the credit, because he was afraid of Wolfguard finding him if the word got out. He still thought, however, that they may be suspicious about him being involved in the accident, anyway.
