Jonathon (John) White, also known as Spectre is a physics professor at CBSU and a direct manipulator of density without changing the object's proportions.

Description
At 25, Professor John White is young, athletic and good-looking, just the sort of guy that college coeds swoon over. Though thin and shorter than average, his good looks and personable manner make him liked by his students and his brilliant work in physics make him someone to watch on campus. He usually wears an open-neck button-up shirt with tweed pants, scuffed black shoes and a scratched but expensive watch. He drives a four year old volvo.
Spectre is a man completely covered in an off-white costume. His face mask completely covers his face, including his eyes and where his mouth would normally be is a blank space. Some sort of body armor covers his torso and on his arms are some sort of bracers. His boots are tall and have a wide cuff at the top. They are also of this same off-white. The only splash of color at all is a large blue symbol on his chest that appears to be a very stylized cursive "P".
Origin
John doesn't know where he came from but his earliest memories are of being on the street, rooting through garbage. He was six or seven. Whatever happened must have been very tramatic indeed because his memories before this are gone. He spent the next 2 years on the street, eating from garbage during the night and hiding from bullies and pimps during the day. Finally he found himself behind a church when the pastor, Father Arthur Jameson was taking out the garbage. He turned to run but Father Jameson called out to him. Fearfully, he was coaxed back and for the first time in his life, was clean and slept on a real bed. Soon afterwards, his powers began to manifest and he began using them to help the oppressed and the victimized. He is against theft because of his background and because of Father Jameson's influence.
Unknown to John, he is a mutate. Before he was born, DEMON kidnapped a bio-geneticist named Dr. Albert Schuman to work for them. He was to create a new group of supervillains with control powers that would allow them to rob banks and combat superheroes on their own ground. Schuman worked for them for 6 years and managed to create a group of children with the potential for super powers. The children were poked, prodded, and manipulated in every way known to man, causing all of them great trauma. Then a vigilante by the name of Knightstalker broke into the base and killed or captured the DEMON personnel. Dr. Schuman and several of the kids were killed right in front of John's eyes, causing him to block out the traumatic events. He ran out of the building as it was burning down only to find himself on the streets with no where to go and no memory of where he had been.
After Father Jameson found and adopted him, he quickly learned to read and write, proving to be an apt student. He was able to catch up with his fellow classmates and excelled at physics and science. He went to college at the University of Chicago, where he impressed his professors with his knowledge of material physics. He then went on to earn his PhD in physics from the California Institute of Technology. Meanwhile, he did not neglect his phsyical side, weight training, doing acrobatics, and taking defense classes. From the start, he knew that he was destined to become a superhero and fight for justice for the oppressed and victimized.
Powers
Spectre is a mutant brick with density manipulation powers. He can change the density of both himself and anything that he touches, allowing him to pick up extremely large objects, walk through walls, resist damage, and fly. John achieves his density manipulation through a sort of 'tuning' effect in space-time. By focusing his presence in space-time, he can gain virtual matter relative to the other bodies of mass in proximity, and by de-focusing his presence, or the presence of other bodies, he can relatively reduce the impact matter in himself or body has on space-time. Through these two processes he can exhibit a variety of effects, from simply gaining relative strength by de-tuning other masses and temporarily lowering their density, to becoming denser and quite armored himself, to making his body partially or completely intangible. He can also control this effect to a fine degree, enabling him to create dense shell (force field) to armor his skin while still leaving his body otherwise normal.
Personality
Johnathan (John) White has become a physicist, trying to figure out how his powers work and something about himself. He still has no memory before the age of 6 or so and would like to find his parents. He is curious about the different mutant powers and would like to figure out if he is a mutant or a mutate. He does know that, for a mutant, which is what he considers himself, he manifested very early in life.
