Description
In Costume: A masked teenager in a dark mandarin collared outfit that looks reminiscent of a Japanese boy's school uniform. He wears a mask that's a simple band around his eyes and ears, but leaves his mouth uncovered and his hair hanging out over the top of it. Despite the costume, he still seems like pimply faced teenager beneath it.
Otherwise:
Tall and gangly, this teenager looks like he's caught in the worst part of adolescence. He stands about six and a quarter feet tall with a skinny build, topped with a wavy mop of black hair that curls down into his eyes. His face is little too wide, and his features a little too severe to be considered attractive, He's got a pale complexion marred by acne. A wispy attempt at a moustache grows over his upper lip.
Normally, Donald can be seen wearing a black army surplus trenchcoat that helps conceal his skinny frame. Jeans, army boots, and a t-shirt complete his look.
Origin
When Donald first got his powers, becoming a superhero was the furthest thing from his mind. That changed a little bit, after his powers accidentally manifested in front of his gang of geek buddies. Pretty soon, his friends where full of advice about how to use his powers and what power stunts to try. Eventually, with his confidence bolstered by support from his friends, Donald donned a mask and a a codename: Teflon.
Powers
Donald has the ability to manipulate the attraction beneath atoms and electrons that contribute to friction. He can dramatically raise the friction between objects, or he can reduce it to virtually nothing. His ability is limited to objects that he can touch, though smaller objects (like playing cards) can retain his friction changes for a brief period of time after leaving his hands.
Some of his powers, Donald has mastered on an instinctual level. Skating and his force field come naturally. His other abilities require more thought and effort, and they don't always work when he wants them.
Major uses of Donald's powers causes his hands or body to glow with a magenta aura, and objects that are under his influence glow similarly. The minor glitches and slip-ups of his powers occur without much of a trace.
Donald doesn't have full control of his powers. Sometimes they turn on at the worst times, causing him to slip or drop things. These unlucky occurances led to him being known as a clutz amongst his high school peers. Also, he doesn't have a lot of confidence in his powers or his physical coordination he's afraid his powers can cut off or turn on at the wrong times.
Personality
When Donald is amongst his circle of geeky friends, he's confident, talkative, and a bit of of a wise-ass, but in a good-natured way. Outside of that circle, he's self-conscious and introverted. He can sometimes get defensive and snippy when he's out of his comfort zone. When he's around stronger personalities, he tends to go along or just leave, rather than get into a head-to-head confrontation.
Donald is still figuring out the business of being a superhero. He often finds himself asking ethical questions like when is alright to break the law when fighting crime, or how careful he should be about hurting criminals. Sometimes he freezes or waits for others to tell him how he should act in combat situations. His lack of certainty and confidence leaves him vulnerable to Presence Attacks from stronger personalities. One thing that Donald knows is that he wants to keep his identity a secret. Outside of a few of his geek friends, no one knows that he's a meta.
History
Donald belongs to a typical family, with two normal parents and a younger sister. He was born in Colonial Bay and has lived here his entire life. A couple of summers ago, he went through a growth spurt, and along with it, his powers arrived. With help and encouragement from his closest friends, he's spent some time refining his abilities to point where he can do a couple of stunts automatically. Right now, Donald is a student of Colonial Heights High School
Donald is an normal high school student. He's bright, but he doesn't apply himself to his schoolwork particularly well, outside of Computers and Physics classes, his favorites. He's earned the trust of his computers teacher. Sometimes he helps manage the computers lab and he's even got a key. Occasionally, he'll sneak into school on the weekends with his geek friends and have a LAN party. At school, Donald is also a member of the Junior Varsity Cross Country team. Outside of class, Donald is interested in things like roleplaying games, military hardware, and Anime and Manga.
At high school, Donald has mundane problems. Some of the jocks harass him, because of an accident where he slipped and dumped paint all over the football captain's new car. He also has a crush on Stacey Lewis, one of the most popular girls in school. Unfortunately, whenever he's around her he tends to get tongue-tied and sweaty and his powers start to go on the fritz. Finally, Donald cannot swim.
