The Maid is the newest superhero to appear, flying around (quite literally) in a maid uniform and sweeping away the evils that lurk in Colonial Bay.

The Maid is the well-mannered, curtseying secret identity of 16-year-old high school Evangeline Victoria Hartford, the heiress to a multi-multi-million dollar fortune who recently suffered great personal tragedy.

Description

As The Maid: Standing at around five foot three inches tall, this attractive young woman, probably in her mid-teens, wears an elegant maid outfit: A conservative blue, full-length, long-sleeve, front button-down dress with white neck and wrist collars; a red ribbon tucked neatly around the neck collar and tied at the front into a cute 2-loop bow; a long white apron, the design of which forms an almost miniature angel wing appearance around her shoulders, covers much of her chest and drapes down past her knees.

A white ribbon is wrapped around her waist and tied into a large 2-loop bow at her back, helping keep her apron secure.

A white, matching maid's headband adorns her long, brunette hair, which tumbles over her shoulders and flows down to her posterior.

Brown, front-laced boots and pink lace stalkings complete her ensemble.

As Evangeline Victoria Hartford: Standing at around five foot three inches tall, this attractive young woman moves with a certain grace and sophistication not normally associated with girls in their mid-teens. There is no sign of slouching in her regal-like posture or gait.

Her brunette hair, glistening in the light as it tumbles over her shoulders and flows down to her posterior, is well groomed and frames her silky, peach-colored face nicely.

She wears a pink crewneck cardigan over her white lace chiffon dress, which sways amd flows with each step she takes. While covering her body down to her knees, somehow the outfit still fails to hide her fit, young feminine figure. A pair of matching white, open-toe evening pumps and a pink scrunchy around her left wrist complete the ensemble.

Origin

Victoria Hartford just had to spend Christmas with her parents, despite how many times her husband Bradley insisted that she should not travel when she was over 8 months pregnant. He also did not get along with the in-laws, but that's neither here nor there. So, onboard United Airlines flight 420 from Colonial Bay to Indianapolis, somewhere over Ohio on December 23rd, 2040... Evangeline was born. Unfortunately, Victoria passed away due to complications.

The Hartfords were well-off, financially. In 2038, Bradley inherited a fortune from his father, Jonathan, who made a killing in the stock market during the tech boom of 2031, finding the devastation of 2030 to be a good time to buy cheap. Bradley never knew his father was so rich... Jonathan was more a tightwad with his cash than Rockefeller. Having gone from rags (an over-worked electrical engineer) to riches overnight, Bradley splurged just a little. Hence, Evangeline grew up with a few luxuries: a small mansion overlooking Colonial Bay, a few servants, a pony to ride... Nothing fancy. Or, at least, Evangeline thought so.

Evangeline spent the first 15 years of her life treated like a princess. Expensive dresses, imported dolls, special tutors, and a father that just could not say "no" to her. Fortunately, her father never once blamed her for the death of her mother.

Tragedy struck in 2055 though, while Evangeline and her father were riding their horses. A small meteor, no bigger than the size of a golf ball, fell from the sky, ricochetted off a boulder, impaled thru Bradley's chest, killing him instantly, and lodged itself inside Evangeline's left breast.

Evangeline was rushed to the hospital, where doctors found no sign of what caused the wound. (unbeknownst to them, the meteor dissolved inside her body) Thanks to modern medicine, her condition stabilized and, in time, only a scar remains on her breast.

For months, Evangeline could do nothing but grieve. She was alone now... unless you counted servants that lived and worked at the mansion. Everytime she saw her father's horse, she could not stop from crying. It was not until months later that she noticed strange things happening.

For instance... she noticed that her clothes started falling apart on her as she walked, the fabric becoming oddly frail upon her body. Then there was the time when the bed collapsed beneath her. Or how she accidentily sent the refrigerator flying thru the window, when she was closed the door after having fetched a drink. She never did piece together that it was the meteor that caused all this... she did not even know about the meteor. No one knew about any meteor. She never saw it, and any trace of it dissolved within her. As far as anyone guessed, she and her father were shot by some assassin.

Then it happened. Because Evangeline was still a minor, control of the mansion and the Hartford fortune was turned over to her uncle Lionel, her deceased mother's younger brother. And the first thing Uncle Lionel did when he moved into the mansion was send Evangeline away. Lionel happens to hate her. He blames her for Victoria's death, and never did approve of Bradley Hartford. So now, Evangeline is living in a small, rundown apartment in the bad part of Colonial Bay, attending Colonial Heights High School.

Powers

Evangeline's body emits a sort of radiation field within a few millimeters from her skin. This field effects the mass of objects she comes in contact with this field. This field can reduce or increase the mass of objects she touches by up to a factor of 500. This ability to affect mass by touch effectively gives her the appearance of super strength. She can easily lift cars and throw them, since they would weigh mere pounds to her. But when the car lands, it would hit with its full weight, since it was no longer in contact with her.

Her mass-warping field also gives her protection against physical attacks. Momentum = mass x velocity. A bullet would be much less harmful if its mass is reduced, thereby reducing its momentum. The same would apply to just about any physical blow that is thrust upon her.

However, while she is able to greatly effect the momentum of things coming at her, she cannot actually effect her own mass, hence she cannot effect her own momentum. So, if she were thrown or fell to the ground, it would injure her as much as it would any normal person.

Similarly, her field protects her from energy attacks, since in physics, Energy = mass x velocity^2.

Finally, by increasing the mass of the air immediately below her, while decreasing the mass of the air above her, Evangeline can effectively fly. Note that this does not work in a vaccuum.

Personality

Despite her recent loss in economic status, Evangeline still conducts herself with the grace and propriety of a ;ady. The way she walks, the way she eats, the way she avoids using contractions such as "I'll" or "don't"... all of it attests to her upbringing as the heiress of Hartford.

After having felt the loss of her father and a sort of betrayal by her uncle, Evangeline has somewhat shut herself off from the world. She never felt so shy growing up, but now, surrounded by so many ruffians and dregs of society in this foreign, impoverished land known as Colonial Heights High School.... she must brace herself for the hardships ahead.

"Tolerance. You only need to tolerate this for a couple more years," she would tell herself. Obviously, this is a test. Her father must be testing her, to see how well she can tolerate all this that she has to go through.

Evangeline may have closed off her heart to some extent, and treats existance (for now) as a chore, she is also use to having things her way, and hates to lose. So she will put up with it all. She has to... she cannot bring shame to Hartford name.

Relations

Evangeline's closest friends are actually the butler Gregory and maid Leila, who have helped care for her since she was a baby. Unfortunately, she never gets to see them anymore, as her uncle Lionel usually forbids her from coming to the mansion.

History

Evangeline has just recently started attending school at Colonial Bay High.

She has started to become aware of some of her powers, and has used them to help save some people from a fire.

She has yet to learn about her weaknesses, due to lack of exposure.

Recently, she has accepted an offer by Victor Von Morningstien to live in his mansion. She has accepted the offer, but only on the condition that she work as a maid in his service, so as to not accept complete charity.

However, the same day she took up her role as Victor's maid, Enemy Ace came and kidnapped him in front of her. She was sent to the hospital, having been knocked out in a large explosion due to overloading machinery caused by Enemy Ace over the Morningstien castle.

She is currently looking for the whereabouts of Baron Morningstien and Enemy Ace.
